  1. Hey! If you know me well enough, you've probably seen my family's dog, Roo (the dog in my pfp).

We unfortunately had to put her down, today, as her tumors were getting really bad and causing her suffering.

She was a good doggy, and I'll miss her dearly.

I know the feeling man, my own dog isn't in a great state and we'll probably need to put her down soon ourselves. What matters though is that your dog was a great doggo and had a great life.

I did not know Roo, but, it is obvious enough that she was a bright enough part of your life. The loss of a long-lived furry friend is a certain kind of grief that I know all too well. Hopefully you can spend the coming days enjoying your many memories and photos of Roo. May her memory be a blessing, now and forever.

  4. Quick break from my break to ask a question to any Warhammer 40k fans on the forums rn.

What's your opinion on returning LOYALIST Primarchs? Obviously Ferrus and Sanguinius would be a no-no, but what about Dorn? Jaghatai? Leman? What are your thoughts?

Probably the best-written return right now is the Lion. I think that there'll be some other books to include Alpharius and Omegon, though, since one of the highlights from Pariah was a Word Bearer getting told: “I am Alpharius” when he began to cower and flee from an Inquisitor’s ally

  9. [!] A letter arrives at the Imperial Palace, carried by a small bird. To His Imperial Majesty, Emperor of Mankind, Marcus the First, Tidings to you, Your Imperial Majesty. I send this letter in hopes you and the Imperial Family are doing well, and that the Imperium of Man flourishes throughout the many moon-cycles. However, this one is perturbed. Ahmanra would like to enter your realm, so he perused the Lex Imperialis (to ensure he would break no laws) and saw something most disturbing. The Kharajyr are Exterminatus in Imperial Lands! Ahmanra does not know what has sprouted such animosity between our peoples, but he is nonetheless willing to acquiesce and formally request a license to enter your fine lands. Ahmanra has heard rumors of war and bloodshed between our peoples, but has participated in no such fighting. Is this true? Truly dire times, this one thinks. If you would like to discuss further about Ahmanra’s legitimacy and whether he will cause a ruckus, he would be happy to converse. This one merely wishes to sell his wares. Thank you for your time,

  20. SURVIVING NIGHTMARES Ogmios, son of Ogmios, rested his head upon the logs of the Goldleaf Forests as he began to rest. He was weary, not having slept much due to the mystery of the new land before him. Azuras, Ogmios thinks it’s called. He was never much for conversation with the locals, nor did he ask too many questions. What Ogmios did do, however, was survive. Survival was his life, having no home, no prospects, and few funds to live where he wanted. So, he settled. He settled in the Forests for the night, as he often does. Survival was the only thing on his mind, besides the next nap. Survival. Survival… Ogmios dreamt of a forest before him, different from the Goldleaf or the Alpine. It was green, but marred by blood and sinew of long forgotten battles. After what felt like hours of wandering, he heard a deafening sound. A screeching noise that seemed avian. Whatever it was, it sounded angry. Ogmios ran through the dream forest, with only survival on his mind as he hopped above roots, moved branches away from his face, and dodged trees in front of him so he wouldn’t fall. Would this be where he falls? In a dream, being chased by a nightmare-bird? Would the Cingedoz die here? Finally, he came to a clearing. In the clearing, the dead lay. Armored, unarmored, armed, unarmed, it did not matter. There were dead men, women, children, and animals littering the surrounding clearing— perhaps they were those who did not survive a confrontation with whatever bird was chasing him. Then, upon one of the marred corpses, a massive vulture landed. It sat there, chewing upon the bones and sinew of the fallen armored warrior below it. It repeated the noise that Ogmios heard when he first entered his dream. Then, it began to dawn on him. The vulture was not some cruel or foul being, seeking to torture or marr its victims into unrecognizable slop, it was a bird. A living bird, which needed to eat to survive. These warriors, whoever they were, were dead long before the vulture began to feed itself. It survived, just as Ogmios did. Then he awoke.

  22. VERDITE A VIRIDESCENT GEM Lo’ and Welcome to this study of Verdite, my birth gem, in recognition of the Clan Trial of Understanding, one of the sacred trials of Clan Gemeye. I am Smaragdi Gemeye, a greenhorn to the clan, but my tenacity makes up for my lack of expertise! Let’s begin with verdite’s basic properties, such as color, luminescence, and other physical characteristics: PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Verdite comes in many shades of green, my favorite color! Verdite can feature streaks of blue, brown, red, or yellow glistening upon its surface. Verdite’s luster, the way it reflects light upon its surface, is typically recognized as pearly or silky. Luminescent properties can also sometimes be seen upon its surface, emitting a green light. COMPLEX CHARACTERISTICS: Verdite is an amorphous gem in structure, meaning it can come in many variations of shapes! Verdite’s hardness, after some experimentation, can be rated from three to four, with variations. This makes it incredibly difficult to facet (for a layman), making it incredibly rare to occur. It’s typically used as carvings, stones, spheres, and so forth. Verdite is composed of many other minerals. Corundum-based gems such as sapphire and ruby, non-corundum-based minerals like quartz, rutile, albite, chlorite, and diaspore. FACETING AND MAINTENANCE: Verdite, as aforementioned, is a relatively soft gem, making it incredibly difficult to facet for laymen. Those experienced, such as myself, however, have little problem with such. In most cases, Verdite is typically turned into spheres, tumbled stones, beads, and other spherical commodities. Maintenance is also complex, with it being a softer gem. Here are the steps I take to ensure a pristine finish: Use a clean, wet, soft cloth free from dust or debris. Dip the cloth in a solution of warm water and soap. Carefully rub the solution-covered cloth on the gem. Let the gem air-dry when finished. It’s also important to keep verdite away from the following: Extreme heat. Harsh alchemical solvents. Steam. VERDITE CONFUSIONS: Verdite, despite being an intriguing and unique gem, can sometimes be confused with others by ignorant laymen who don’t understand its properties. Here are some examples of gems that others have mistaken the appearance of verdite with: Green Aventurine (Less Refractive). Buddstone (Hardness of seven [According to experimentation done by yours truly]). Serpentine (Hardness of six point five to seven [According to experiments done by yours truly.]).. Jade (Hardness of six point five to seven [According to experiments done by yours truly.]) MAGICAL AND SYMBOLISTIC PROPERTIES: Verdite symbolizes many things to me! According to the Precept of Prism, the green, fluorescent light of gems such as Verdite can resemble the Light of the Hearth, being closely associated with Anbella (Brathmordakin of the Hearth). It also symbolizes, to other Verdite-enjoyers, as a gem of healing and the fertility of crops and livestock. Some believe that it can boost self-confidence, increase memory, and promote honesty. I’m not experienced in the arcane, so I’ve no idea if this is true. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, verdite is an incredibly unique and intriguing gem that I hold a personal fondness for, it being my birth gem. Its many symbolic properties hold high value in Clan Gemeye, especially to me. I hope you’ve enjoyed this learning adventure as much as I have. Farewell, and blessings of Anbella and Grimdugan upon you all! Smaragdi Gemeye, Dwed of the Kazamar Kresttrulliv.
  23. Beaumont looks upon the missive with a smile, "As foolish as the current Pontificate is, it's good to see that there are at least a few virtuous men of the cloth."
