  1. Dame Leoni of Acalonn, Orphan of the Sunlit Lord and Devil-Knight, read the missive with a scowl. "I no longer fight the Titan in honor of the Aengul of Tyranny, the Aengul that my Haelun pledged her life and soul for. I fight for the defense of my family and my community." - "The last thing you should do is invoke XAN when asking people to fight Azdromoth with you."
  2. Name: Dame Leoni of Acalonn Age: 21 Inhabitant?: Yes.
  3. Dame Leoni of Acalonn read the missive with barely contained rage. She would send a letter to Ser Sterling. Ser Sterling, You forgot to mention in your recent report of how you and the others abandoned the Paladins to their doom. Your actions were an extreme act of cowardice and callous disregard of your kin of arms in the face of the forces of Ruin. Not even attempting to defend the Paladins so they could get away, you willingly let their evil plans flourish before your very eyes! You and the other church-men retreated with the excuse that they were 'heretics' and that some 'didn't like paladins anyways.' Now a Keeper of Xan is dead, and Azdromoth's plans for the complete destruction of our world as we know it have gotten ever-closer to fruition under your watch. Sincerely, Dame Leoni of Acalonn
  4. Dame Leoni of Acalonn, Devil-Knight and Orphan of the Sunlit Lord, watched the skies crash, rumble and turn a multitude of colors with great shame. "I'm sorry... I couldn't save you, llir. I have no more love and reverence for the Lord you and my mother serve, but I hope you tell haelun that I miss her."

  6. Dame Leoni of Acalonn heard of this new group developing from her partner while she resided in her home. Bedridden, the Devil-Knight grimaced at the news. "An even more extreme group of valah than the last... I suppose they gotta keep themselves occupied somehow. God forbid they actually help against the likes of Azdromoth as they attempt to destroy ALL of us, regardless of creed or race..."
  7. It's cause Xan, the Aengul of Order is very picky when it comes to his followers not just in their actions and words, but also the state of their souls. He's the Aengul of Order, after all. It's the same reason why Kha can't be paladins. Their souls are marked in some way by another daemonic entity and Xan doesn't like that. I don't think either being cursed from birth or by ritual should have no effect at all on the deific magics that they can wield. Some of the gods will scorn you as a cursed child/tiefling, and that is something that I think can make for some genuinely interesting roleplay. A people that even certain gods deem unworthy of their gifts. We can let the members of such community decide how they deal with that information.
  8. Funnily enough, I wanted to remove the line entirely in my original post, but because people interpreted that as me trying to take away the drawbacks of the cursed children, I opted to change it to repeating the lore instead. Either way works for me. I just wanna have the lore be consistent.
  9. I totally get it! That's why I wanted to make the amendment in the first place. No hard feelings! :)
  10. Thank you! That was what I originally put, removing the line entirely and letting the feat lore explain it. I decided to mirror the feat lore instead to make it more clear that I'm not trying to remove the drawbacks of the blessed children.
  11. No I'm not. This is mirroring exactly what the Blessed Children of Ixris feat lore says, which is the main deific magic that is unable to be made is paladinism. Everything else is fair game, with the rules that are currently written down.
  12. That's what I've been told, but I've had other folks say otherwise. Originally I wanted the line to be removed and have the feat lore alone explain which magics you can do, but having it mirror the lore instead is better. Edited the proposal to make more clear what I wanna do, which is have the ritual lore be clarified and mirror what the feat lore says, not remove a drawback of becoming a cursed child through the ritual. Edited the proposal to make more clear what I wanna do with this, which is to have the ritual lore match the feat lore and be clarified, rather than to remove the limitations of being a cursed child.
  13. That's pretty much my intent by removing that line. If it's changed to 'They have a corrupted soul and therefore cannot be a paladin, but can do these other magics,' that's also fine. I'm just trying to make sure the feat lore and the ritual lore match up, or at least be clarified.
  14. Old: Redlines: - Requires [3] Naztherak, all of which must be at least tier [3]. - Cursed children will always inherit traits that are reflective of the Lord of the Naztherak who submerged their grimoire. - Requires OOC consent to perform. - It takes [4] OOC days for the striith to return from the High Hells. - Cursed Childern created with this ritual will have a corrupted soul, meaning that they cannot practice holy magics. - Becoming a Cursed Child is permanent. - Cursed Children follow all redlines of the Blessed One’s lore piece. New: Redlines: - Requires [3] Naztherak, all of which must be at least tier [3]. - Cursed children will always inherit traits that are reflective of the Lord of the Naztherak who submerged their grimoire. - Requires OOC consent to perform. - It takes [4] OOC days for the striith to return from the High Hells. - Cursed Childern created with this ritual will have a corrupted soul, meaning that they cannot practice Paladinism. They can practice all other deific magics. [Templarism, Druidism, Shamanism, Seers, etc.] - Becoming a Cursed Child is permanent. - Cursed Children follow all redlines of the Blessed One’s lore piece. Reasoning: I've noted this issue with what the definition of 'holy magics' is with plenty of Story team folks, only to have conflicting answers as to what sort of magics a Blessed Child of Ixris that is made from this ritual can perform. Due to the very vague wording within the ritual lore that seems to contradict the feat lore itself without adding sufficient clarity, I propose that the 'unable to perform holy magics' line be changed so that the information for what magics a persona with this feat can do can be simplified and made much more clear. If there should be a difference in magical access between those made by ritual and those made from birth, it should be clarified in the lore with much more accuracy and clarity than how it is made now within the Naztherak ritual lore as it stands.
  15. A Devil-Knight’s Code As I assume the role of Dame of Acalonn within the Port-County of Dúnkeld, I seek to prove that Acalonnan (Cursed Children/Kin) like myself are more than capable of not only serving well enough, but serving above and beyond. With this, I bind myself now and forevermore to this code before my charge and before the rest of Aevos. It is directly inspired by the Numendain martial code first forged by Uther Pendraic, only with more situational adjustments both as an Acalonn (Cursed Child/Kin) and as someone not of the Canonist faith. I invite any and all kin of the same struggle to take similar vows so that we may fight against the darkness that seeks to prey upon our bodies, minds and souls. We may be damned, but we are not beyond redemption. I. One will act as defender of the innocent, the weak, the defenseless, AND the unduly oppressed. II. One will abstain from acts of needless cruelty towards their fellow descendants. III. One will act with courageous fervor against the enemy, for often they will give you no mercy. IV. One will enact TOTAL war against the forces of Iblees and his hand Azdromoth, for the Deceiver is the cause of the blight upon our souls and bodies. V. One will honor their fellow Knights and kin of arms, and act with virtue so as to not stain their reputation by association. VI. One will always speak and act with honesty, even if it means your death. VII. One will never refuse a challenge from an equal, and always respect the rite of single combat. VIII. One will be generous to the poor, disabled, dispossessed, and those in need. IX. One should be inclined to give redemption to those that slip into the depths of darkness, should it be possible to be fully separated. Dame of Acalonn
  16. Leoni Chevalier, Orphan of the Sunlit Lord, looked up to see the sapphire comets as they descended back to Aevos. Incredible amounts of guilt, shame and jealousy washed over her as the bodies of cobalt flame flew through the skies. A realm that she is forever barred from. A realm that her haelun dwells within. A realm that she will likely never see. Regardless, she will fight. Regardless SHE will redeem herself, not the uncaring gods.
  17. Leoni Chevalier’s silver-grey eyes caught the missive as she entered Kaethul. She couldn’t believe what she was reading. “I suppose your work wasn’t entirely pointless, haelun. I wish you were here to see this.” The devil thought to herself.
  18. Leoni had to admit, she didn't expect Sermi to stay down when she saw the warlock's head cleaved from her shoulders. The maroon-skinned devil gained some vicarious satisfaction regardless. She only wished to make the ride to oblivion much slower than what [Redacted] gave her. Finally, after such brazen admittance and such open arrogance did the she-beast finally fall from her own hubris. Who would have thought it'd be a devil that helped bring this rampaging monster to their end? She'd rest a bit easier knowing that the first of the triumvirate that cursed her has been sent to Malleus for judgement. "The White Cat will soon follow her lackey." She thought to herself, a hunter's determination in the devil's silver-grey eyes.
  19. Leoni Chevalier, Servant of Tahariae quickly went to write a note to the Shugo, reading the order with quite the look of concern. "Shugo Kato, I heavily insist you to reconsider this order. This is far too restrictive on a group of people that, by and large, are only evidenced to be victims of Iblees. This is much better than the Canonist church's response, however. I am glad that you have not chosen to ban us outright. Still, I urge you to revise this so that those that are cursed are able to live happier, healthier lives."
  20. TO THE ACCURSED Issued at Year 177 of the Second Age [!] A missive would be posted by a helmeted figure throughout the realms of Aevos. To the Fellow Devils of Aevos, It is already a grim fate to be cursed as we are, to look like infernal creatures either by birth or by horrific ritual. Such a mark on our soul is heavy and horrific. It is now made even worse by the Church of Canon’s decision, alongside all of their nation’s leaders, to commit genocide upon us through displacement at the point of a sword. This has been decreed all for the crimes of but a few of the many within the category of ‘cursed children.’ What Justice is there in that decision? What Balance is made to have such an extreme action towards those whose only thing that unites us is that we are all victims of the warlocks of Iblees? The death of a queen is absolutely horrifying, and the people who have done such a horrible crime should be executed either by flames or by hanging. The response to such a crime is NOT punishing those that have never committed such a crime. It is an injustice of the highest order to do so. To my kin in the same struggle, I ask that you come and visit a place that bears no such mark of persecution upon us. If you need a place to rest or even just a person to speak with, I will be here at the Eshtaelite Church within Lurin. The Church of Canon may have abandoned its duties towards peace, justice and purity but that does not mean we must abandon ours as the victims of such widespread actions. It says within the White Tome that: “... it is the refusal to seek redemption and rise above one's failings that displays truest disgrace.” If it truly is a crime to be as we are, victims of Iblees’ minions, then let us come together and work towards Purity of our actions and towards Justice for all. Let us show the world that we are not what we are damned to look like by the Deceiver, and build the foundations of a future where there is no strife or suffering for us or anyone else. I will be waiting for you. Leoni Chevalier Servant of Tahariae Member of the Eshtaelite Church
  21. Can someone make an amendment clarifying the naz ritual for making blessed children? It's pretty vague with its language. Either make them have the same rules as the feat page or make the rules more clear. Either way, that would be helpful.

  22. From Lion Cub To She-Devil Leoni woke up to the smell of stale air and the debilitating feeling of malflame on her upper torso. Her blurred vision could only see faded figures in a circle around her. Her ears could only faintly hear their chatter amongst themselves, having only just woken up. She realized that her hands and feet were tied by rope, making her unable to do much other than squirm and turn her head about. Her eyes focused as she rose from her artificial stupor. The figures around her were the three that had ambushed her while on patrol. Apparently she’d been captured rather than killed after everything went to black. She hoped that her patrol-mate had either escaped or at least wasn’t dead. Her paladin armor was tattered and warped by several hits from a blunt weapon. Small amounts of blood were dripping from her torso, the wet lacerations underneath having been unattended during her trip. She turned towards the main figure among the group, a woman of pale skin and blonde-white hair. “Why- Why am I not dead?” She croaked inquisitively. The figures stood there silently, the response would be the rushing of malflame all over her body. The young mali warrior wailed in agony, the pain like nothing she’d ever felt before. Within moments, she began a horrific transformation. Her pale skin began to turn rough and changed to the color of dried blood. A set of pale, keratinous horns were born after painfully pushing their way out of her skull. A lizard-like tail would grow from her backside while her canines turned to long, pointed fangs. Her nails turned the color of oil as they stretched to arrowheads. Her brown hair inherited from her mother was now ashened by the fel-flames. Not soon after the transformation was complete, the pain faded as she once again fell into a man-made slumber. The figures transported her body to the front of the Sunbreak Keep. Her soul was now damaged goods to the Sunlit Lord, unable to be embered as her mentors were training her towards.
