FAITH & SANCTUARY: The Symbolism of the Holy Tabernacle Scribed by John Casimir Baudoin Novellen 16th of Lothar’s Gift, BA. 134. The Scroll of Gospel, bestowed unto Exalted Godfrey in his dialogue with GOD, recounts the genesis of humanity and the reign of Exalted Horen. Horen led his people unto the plains, where they laid the foundations of their civilisation, constructing homes of wood and cloth and temples wrought from stone. Amongst these constructions stood the Holy Tabernacle, described as a tent; a modest dwelling. Throughout the Book of Horen, the Tabernacle bears an aura of protection men often associate with castles and strongholds, serving as a sanctuary to Horen’s wife Julia and their three children in his absence. 19 Thus informed, Julia went into her family’s tent, their holy tabernacle, and she gathered their three sons. 20 She bade them to remain in the tabernacle as she walked the camp, looking for Iblees. One might ask, why does something so simple, fashioned of cloth and timber, bear this significance? Why did Horen not construct for himself a castle, fit for a king, its imposing shadow looming over the land and its subjects? Men easily take for granted the endurance of stone, believing constructions wrought from it will shield us from ruin and torment. A mighty keep might repel a bloodthirsty host or even the bombardment of cannon fire, but not even the sturdiest walls can withstand the poison that infects the hearts of men. The poison that is sin. Yet, though a modest dwelling, Horen’s Tabernacle, resisted the disease wrought upon his encampment by Iblees. The Book of Horen tells us that those led astray by Iblees, through the deceit of Saul, besieged it, but to no avail. The Tabernacle bore a radiance that repelled evildoers and protected the occupants within. 39 So Horen was inspired with the Word of GOD, and he returned to his people. 40 He went into his camp and found that two thirds had fallen into iniquity, and they embattled Horen’s tabernacle but could not enter it. One might query how such a simple construction could withstand the wrath of the deplorable. The answer in truth is simple, for it was not the materials that repelled evil, but rather the faith of the righteous in its divine purpose. Though humble and unassuming, Horen’s Tabernacle was home, and one’s home is not just a construct but rather a concept. Within a home, we envisage sanctuary and tranquillity, and there is no truer home for mankind than GOD’s embrace. When Horen returned from the Grotto of Gamesh, he bore the light of GOD, and so the sinful could not approach him, just as they could not approach the Tabernacle. Horen and his wife, Julia, had placed their faith in GOD, and so not even the wickedness sewn by Iblees and the deceiver, Saul, could bring upon them harm. GOD’s grace is greater than any fortress of stone, no matter how high its walls or deep its moats. For whilst walls crumble under the weight of sin, the Lord is good and shall shield those who keep faith. 41 Among them lay Saul, uncovered and foul, trampled by the sin he wrought. 42 And Horen glowed with the light of the tabernacle and of GOD. 43 Horen wept for his people, for the sinful could not approach him. 44 He went into the tabernacle and spoke with his wife, who advised him of the sin that corrupted the world. Although the events of the Scriptures occurred long ago, the principles and core values they instil serve a crucial purpose to the flock. They teach us that so long as our faith in GOD remains steadfast and enduring, he will grant us sanctuary against corruption, ruin and sin. Keep your home rooted in the unbreaking foundation of GOD, for it is He who granted us life, and unto Him we shall return to serve a higher purpose.

THE HAUNTING OF CHAMBERY I see in my years of working, killing and hunting inferni…any type of them, but I have never seen a city…a small one so haunted. We would read on and learn the names of these wyrms, the direct ilk of the DECEIVER, to be Vargengotz, the beautiful wyrm, and Ishtar, the terrible wyrm. However, we will only need to know what Vargengotz will and HAS brought into this world: “And Vargengotz calls forth three deceivers in the guise of messengers, with wings of cold fire. They are called Justice, Glory, and Reward.” - Auspice 1:9-10 Why do I make claims that would be seen as nigh blasphemous to most of our blessed clergy? I do such to protect the world that I had failed to protect from evil within my younger years. I do so in hope to warn my faithful brothers and sisters of the coming end should the Auspice of Exalted Sigismund come to pass within our lifetimes. HARK! My brethren, you have been tricked by a deceiver manifested by the Wyrm Vargengotz to take on the guise of a Messenger of the GOD-EMPEROR, and he has taken the name Saint Raguel, Aengul of JUSTICE. He has only shown himself while in the presence of priests and he has declared that the GOD-EMPEROR has declared war on Hohkmat and I have heard and read evidence of a Canonist raid upon Lurin. These actions can only be propagated by wrath, which was exalted by Raguel in his declarations to the priests of the Holy Mother Church for war. By no means do I sympathize with the Magi that reject the warmth and love hidden within the Word of God, my own life has been changed for the worst by Magi. I only wish to inform my fellow Canonist brothers and sisters of what is happening within the world and shed light upon the deceiver that we have allowed within our blessed host of Saints. The plan was to take the hair to the dwarf as proof of the crime and receive the money, in which I would lure him into canonism to arrest him and have proper justice dealt to him. I had traveled to Urguan to meet with the dwarf, unfortunately Ayr dialect may seem quite aggressive to some. The dwarf took offense to the use of “Halfman” which is synonymous with “Dwed” in Ayr tongue and is not intended as an insult. Upon giving him the goblin’s hair he claimed that it was not enough proof, upon which I demanded payment again. Seeing there was no more point in keeping up the scheme I delivered him the charges, saying “If you enter canondom again you will be swiftly apprehended and put to death for your crimes, unless we may talk.” upon which he drew his warhammer. We have also seen that a band of Orcs came to the aid of the Ferrymen - for which we admonish the Rex. Let there be no confusion; the Ferrymen are not some sort of lovable rogues who fight a just cause against the remnants of an oppressive Orenian Empire. They are bandits, criminals, killers: terrorists, who make up excuses for supposed heroism while taking a pregnant and innocent woman from her home and threatening to kill her. It saddens me to see such political conflicts devolve down to reprehensible bashing and accusations to the leaders of our faith. What would our forefathers, our exalted prophets who watch upon us say whilst seeing such a disappointing sight? What will our father, Exalted Horen say upon witnessing such petty squabbles amongst nations utilize the Holy Church as a scapegoat for their grievances? Have you not considered such thoughts within your minds when you penned such accusations? Non est dubium. There is no doubt that there is perhaps, a distrust brewing amongst the former members of the Canonist league. It is also conceded that such distrust opened the floodgates of animosity to seep into our souls and tampered with our faith. However, distrust amongst nations should not be misdirected to the Church. Have you all forgotten that it was the Church who acted swiftly to address the unprecedented flooding, the harsh winters, and the natural disasters that struck our Canon realms? Have you forgotten that it is His Holiness and the loyal servants of the almighty who organized relief for the children of Horen? It would seem that these missives implicating the Holy Church with alleged bias and corruption fail to address such benevolent actions our religious leaders have taken to provide for our communities. Perhaps a history lesson should do us some justice. The Canonist League was created for the sole purpose to rid the realm of Canondom against the Anathema, Heinrik Sarkozic. That was its only purpose. Once that purpose was fulfilled, the League of Veletz was welcomed into the Canonist League with open-even if some nations were hesitant-arms. Would it have not been better to petition the Church to address such allegations of bias against Veletz by the member states of the Canonist League? Would it not have been more logical to request the Church to call upon all the realms of Canondom to meet upon this issue and consolidate a more holistic and legitimate approach to inclusiveness amongst the children of Exalted Horen? Questions upon questions, yet I do not find any logical answer from the ones who pen these missives that seem to rebuke the Church and its teachings. Such actions can be seen as borderline schismatic rhetoric. It is quite disappointing that such public rhetoric has also caused the realm of Canondom to be nothing but a laughingstock amongst the enemies of our faith. They revel and relish this moment. I sincerely urge my fellow Canonist brethren to change their rhetoric and tone. Do not use the loyal servants of the almighty as a scapegoat. Such acts are reprehensible and heretical in their very nature. The safety of the pious folk who affiliate with the Church are also threatened with such rhetoric. I request you all see it within yourselves the damages this may cause to our souls and to our faith in the Almighty. It corrupts us and displays our weakness at a time when our very unity in the Faith is shaken and treaded upon by such strong words against the pious followers of the Almighty. Not spreading the word of god and not attempting to convert pagans is taking away their right to join GOD in the seven skies. Every mortal in this world has a great potential to live a virtuous life, and we as the followers of GOD are commanded by GOD himself to guide them back to GODs path. But what if they don’t want to listen? In case they refuse to come back to GOD, instead of keeping on chasing and convincing the pagan to convert, the logical thing to do would be to leave the pagan alone, as they heard the truth and decided to keep following false idols anyway, it’s their and their problem only. Your rhetoric against Duke William strays deadly close to betraying this duty by undermining the very nature of baptism, which is absolute forgiveness through God. We have delivered unto Rozania a forgiven, Canonist ruler, and you now risk the welfare of yourself and your flock seeking to punish crimes already absolved. In the most stringent and fatherly spirit, as bearer of the laurel of prophets, We must admonish you against this attitude. It imperils many souls. We are reminded of the story of Harren Horenson, who married an elf woman and rejected the laurel of prophets thrice before finally being forsaken of the prophetic office by God. Even then, he was permitted to rule for seven years while Exalted Owyn attempted to obtain his conversion. And finally, in the end, Exalted Owyn was successful in obtaining Harren’s contrition; yet, Exalted Owyn then sinned when he killed Harren rather than forgiving him. We read in the Scroll of Gospel, Book 4, verses 51-53: “Here, the Lord spoke ‘O Owyn, Son of Godwin, Son of Horen, you spill the blood of your uncle in the tabernacle of Horen. Even as My holiest city was sacred in spite of Harren’s rejection, it is spoiled by the blood of kin. You betray man with your wrath, and once again Horen’s sons are divided.’” Heed that! Instructing us in Virtue, God tells of both the triumphs and failures of Our prophets. Do not fail as Ex. Owyn did. Do not reject the contrition of a man whose virtue was hard-won. Indeed, Ex. Owyn’s sin was so grievous that it initiated a full millennium of Silence from God. Yet it is written three verses later, in verse 56, “But you remain My prophet.” Gospel book 6, verse 45 further says of this “The Lord is merciful, and waits for our penance.” Duke William has sought the Lord’s forgiveness, and it was granted to him through Us. Where he was once a wicked Harren, he has now become like a forgiven Ex. Owyn. As God commands, if you repent, We shall forgive you for this sin of wrath, so alike to Ex. Owyn’s, for all of us have failed and fallen short of Him. Regarding your jurisdictional argument, We are confused as to why you feel We have slighted the Princes in any way. It is Our prerogative to confer consecration as a sovereign, and to describe Our investiture and baptism of Duke William as a slight inflicted upon Their Highnesses is a preposterous construct, one which threatens to infringe upon the authority of the Church herself. Indeed, heed that were it not for this authority of Ours, We could not have also crowned the honorable Prince of Savoy just this year. This questioning of Our right to invest Duke William as the leader of Rozania disparages Our very right to consecrate men in and of itself. In doing so, you have risked the souls of your parishioners, who may now be led to call into question their own ruler’s authority within his own domain; for verily, if the Duke of Rozania’s rule is not legitimate despite Our deeming it such, then all invested by Our hand may be treated in the same manner. We say to you that it is not a slight for a man to rule upon that which is within his prerogative; the coronation of princes is decidedly the authority of the Vicar of God, and not that of neighboring pastors. Owyn Prophet Owyn, son of Godwin, pray for me. May God’s Will be done. Know, dear reader, that my hands are calloused hands and my mind is not a Virosi’s mind, I am but a mere brother of the Reformative Monastery in Ulmsbottom. My work is not a scholar’s work but one of a poor brother who toils to aid his fellow Man. Therefore expect neither lyrical prose nor masterful poetry. I am moved by holy providence to write upon a topic that is often misinterpreted even by my brother priests and the public at large. It is not uncommon to hear, see and read polemics targeted against those who might call themselves Flamenist, particularly my Owynist and Lucienist brethren. Lily-livered appeasers and cowardly clerics will often decry our strictness and discipline, “Oh what of the pagan! What of the gentile!” they cry, worried that some imagined gentile might be offended by God’s truth. Hear here and now, oh brethren of mine: the pagan cares not if you preach tolerance and falsehoods, but Iblees will gladly devour your soul! Heed my word, then brothers of mine, read and enlighten your hallowed minds, for the Flamen path is not one of brutality and war, but rather one of diligence, discipline and mortification. I will endeavour to educate my brethren in the ways of Owynism and Lucienism, their history, teachings and disciplines, so that we might not see any more lies being spoken of us by our very own. Then, my dear reader, you may ask yourself: ‘you have spoken of Owynism and Lucienism and Flamenism, what then do you mean?’ In truth, there is little difference. Flamenism, at its core is the worshipful reverence and following of the Exalted Owyn’s example. The great prophet’s journey on this word can be summarized thusly: be pure, vanquish darkness, worship God. What does it mean then, to be pure? Quite simply, it is to follow God’s Law as given to Exalted Horen. What does it mean then, to vanquish darkness? Quite simply, it is to persecute sin, be it internal or external. What does it mean then, to worship God? Quite simply, it is to pray, fast and give right reverence to He-Who-Is according to the prescripts of Owyn’s Church. Flamenism is active, never passive. Flamenism prioritizes action over words. That, dear reader, are the trappings of Flamenism, and all who practice it may be rightly called Flamenists. Then, both Owynism and Lucienism can be rightly called Flamenist sects. The very basis of their ideals are rooted in the main three aspects of Flamenism. What then be their differences? I will at first detail their communalities: Right Belief Both sects hold God to be One and accept His Prophets. Lay Preaching Both sects hold to the primacy of the Believer. Sanctity of Marriage Both sects hold to the saintliness of the married state and it’s gendered roles. Martial Reverence Both sects hold to the high ideals of Just War. Human Purity Both sects hold to the belief that Mankind are God’s chosen people, decrying miscegenation. Regular Worship Both sects hold to the convening of regular ablutions and religious liturgies. These are the aspects held in common by both Owynists and Lucienists. In certain cases particular beliefs take on a larger emphasis; for example, in the Westerlands, Owynist clergy, known as the ‘Lectors’ were overwhelmingly laymen, while Savoyard Owynists in the Blackwald held to a more collegial clericalist position. So while all the aforementioned beliefs are the pillars of both Owynism and Lucienism certain aspects may take on greater or lesser emphasis depending on the needs and customs of the believers. Now, Owynism and Lucienism are not synonymous. There are very distinct differences between the two sects, likely owed to the fact of their differing history. Owynists were mostly of Kaedreni extraction, being loyal to the Chivays, while Lucienists, being members of a Holy Order, favoured the pre-eminence of the Pontiff over any lay-ruler. That is why the main difference betwixt these two sects of Owyn are rooted in ecclesial polity and not dogma. Caesaropapism The Owynist belief that God’s anointed ruler is supreme over the High Pontiff. Pontifical Infallibility & Authority The Lucienist principle that the High Pontiff is God’s chief priest and therefore above secular power. These are the two main points of contention. With the rise of the Chivays to imperial purple, and the end of the cursed Darfeyist Pontificate Caesaropapism rose to prominence. Spearheaded by Basil of Sabris and Simon of Khazav, their ‘Reformed Communion’ instanted Caesaropapism into official doctrine, making the reigning Chivays ‘Vicergents’ of the Church. Caesaropapism, however, proved to be a great failure. The Church stagnated and the Chivays proved themselves incapable of governing both secular and religious affairs. After the end of the Chivay regime and the rise of Canonism in 1471, the Lucienist polity had its chance at pre-eminence within the ecclesial regime. This, is what should be done to everyone who opposes Canonism and it's beliefs, as we can not risk the influence of dark magic being expanded into the nations where Canonism is the dominating religion. People nowadays, are so tolerant in these practices, but keep in mind, that when this spiritual-practice of witches, wizards and pagans is still being tolerated, that the word of God will mean absolutely NOTHING to them, they will laugh at you, in front of your own basilica where you attend mass to receive the wisdom of God himself!
