  1. Elia gasps with giddy pleasure as she plopped onto her bed, kicking her feet. "Helga, write to the seamstress! I shall need a new dress for this occasion. Oh, and the cobbler - new dancing shoes shall be needed as well!" She let out a squeal of joy. It had been ages since the young woman had danced at a ball. A ball hosted by her uncle would surely involve much dancing.
  2. ⋆⁺₊⋆ ━━━━━━━━━━━⊱༒︎ • ༒︎⊰━━━━━━━━━━━ ⋆⁺₊⋆ Auditions for The Huntress and Crow It is with great pleasure that I announce, a grand ballet shall grace the stages of the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska! A ballet composed by the late Baroness Elia Eryka Colborn-Stafyr, The Huntress and the Crow follows the journey of a renowned Huntress who, after accepting a fateful challenge, crosses paths with a mysterious being—the Crow Beast. What begins as a test of skill soon turns into an unexpected romance, but will their love endure, or will jealousy and fate tear them apart? A tale of love, peril, and destiny awaits. We are now seeking performers to fill these roles and invite all who wish to take the stage to audition! As this is a ballet, dancers are mainly needed, though bards, singers, and the like are welcome to audition. ROLES: THE HUNTRESS - A fearless warrior whose heart becomes entangled in an unforeseen love. CROW BEAST - A shadowed figure of mystery and allure, caught between longing and fate. VLAD/VLADANA - A figure from the Huntress' past who brings tension to her journey. HUNTERS - A formidable group, either allies or foes to the Huntress. THE SNEAKY FOXES - Clever and mischievous beings who weave trickery into the tale. THE FAIRIES - Enigmatic spirits of the forest, graceful yet unpredictable. THE DEER - Symbols of purity and wisdom, gliding through the woodland. THE WOLVES - Powerful, untamed, and ever watchful in the night. Auditions will be held on the Tipsy Tarchar Stage in New Valdev. 3. The missive was placed on Adelina's desk. As she read the parchment, a soft, gloved hand rose to rest on her chest, pride swelling within her. "Mea sestra, how proud I am of you." The elder van Leuven sister smiled fondly, thinking of the great impact her sister had. "Vy have brought greatness to our family, and kingdom. Enjoy vyr retirement, dear sister. Soon I shall be following your lead in retiring." she would say, folding the missive and tucking it away in the family archives. Despite the hardships they had faced in their upbringing, Mahaut had risen from the strifes of life with the utmost grace. Adelina would always be inspired by her younger sister's ability to do so, but she couldn't help but be envious of her as well.
  4. Adelina van Leuven reads yet another missive and sighs. She is tired and goes to sleep as if that will help.

  8. The Silent Farewell of a Moon The room was still, save for the soft rusting of curtains as the cool Hyspian breeze drifted through the open window. Esmeray Luceran lay in her bed, her breaths shallow, each one feeling like a battle. The once-vibrant woman who had traveled the corners of Aevos, fought battles, and built a family now faced the quiet march toward the inevitable. Soon. As her thoughts began to blur, memories rose like tides, sweeping her into the chapters of her life. Her life replayed, as if she was reliving each one. She was a little girl again, standing between her mother and father. Her parents’ laughter filled the air, warm and familiar, as the three of them explored bustling markets and vibrant towns. The sun shone brightly as they journeyed from kingdom to kingdom, her father playfully lifting her onto his shoulders while her mother’s soothing voice promised new adventures just over the horizon. But then, the skies darkened. The joyful scenes faded as bandits attacked their caravan. Esmeray saw her younger self scream as her father shielded her, his body collapsing to the ground. Her mother knelt beside him, clutching him as life slipped away. The once joyful traveler’s life was replaced by loneliness and fear as her mother grew sick, coughing through sleepless nights. And then, that final goodbye—her mother’s hand going limp as 16-year-old Esmeray cradled her in tears. “I lost them too soon. They left me in a world I didn’t know how to face alone.” Now, she was standing in the cold streets of Haense, a city covered in snow but filled with the promise of belonging. She saw herself—a young woman of 18—standing beside Queen Amaya, her first friend in Haense, laughing together as the two shared plans for grand feasts and noble festivities. And then, another figure appeared—a man with a broad grin and a sailor’s charm. Derek Saltman. Esmeray watched herself fall in love with him, her heart feeling full for the first time since her parents’ deaths. She saw them sit beneath the stars, planning a future filled with love and adventure. They were going to be married. But then, Derek was gone. Lost at sea. Esmeray saw her younger self standing on the docks, waiting for his ship to return. Day after day, she stood there, hope fading with every passing moment. And when she finally gave up, when she knew he wasn’t coming back, the heartbreak was unbearable. “I thought I would never survive that. Losing him felt like dying, and I didn’t think I could find joy again." The scene shifted, and Esmeray now watched herself walk through the streets of a distant town, her heart still heavy with sorrow. It was there she saw a young girl—Revekka—huddled in an alley, her small body bruised from her parents’ cruelty. Esmeray’s heart ached as she knelt beside the girl and whispered, "Come with me." She saw the joy return to her own life through the simple moments of motherhood—braiding Revekka’s hair, teaching her how to fight, and sharing whispered dreams of the future. For a time, it was perfect. She felt whole again. "I tried my best, Revekka," Esmeray whispered into the night. "I wanted to be the mother you deserved. I wanted us to be happy forever." But forever was fleeting. As Revekka grew older, the disagreements began. They drifted apart—Esmeray holding too tightly, Revekka yearning for freedom. The closeness they once shared slipped through her fingers. "I didn’t know how to hold on without holding you back. And I’m sorry for that." She wished daughter was there to hear the words. The next scene took her to the exotic streets of Rah’tuma, the cult-city where Esmeray had once believed she could start anew. She saw herself walking through the bustling market, her hands full of building plans and supplies, determined to help the city grow. She had married Jahtep there, raising a new family with sons she adopted—Trekker and Bones the goblin. For a time, Rah’tuma felt like a fresh beginning. But the city turned against her. Whispers of betrayal and the Pharaoh’s paranoia led to her exile. Esmeray watched herself stumble from the city walls, the weight of betrayal pressing down on her. "I gave so much to them," she whispered, her voice brittle. "And they cast me out as if I meant nothing." The memories blurred as Esmeray now saw herself arriving in Hyspia, her heart heavy with the loss of Rah’tuma. She tried to build a new life there, hoping for peace once more. But happiness was elusive. Jahtep abandoned her. Rakhnar, her dearest friend, was gone too. And Revekka—oh, Revekka—was more distant than ever. "It felt like everything I loved slipped through my hands," she whispered, sadness tinging her voice. "Even when I tried to hold on." She saw herself grow weaker with each passing day, her body betraying her as illness took hold. Her daughters—Esmeralda and Yesenia—stayed by her side, but even they couldn’t fill the void in her heart. And now, a final memory. The shore stretched endlessly before her, kissed by gentle waves that rolled in and out, as if the ocean were singing a quiet lullaby just for her. The moon hung heavy and full in the night sky, casting a silver glow that made the sand shimmer beneath her feet. Esmeray’s body felt lighter here, the weight of years lifting as if carried away on the tide. She walked slowly along the water’s edge, her bare feet leaving soft prints in the damp sand. The scent of salt lingered in the air, comforting in its familiarity. She kept walking, and with every step, the burdens of her past began to loosen their grip. Then, in the distance, she saw them. Figures standing along the shoreline, illuminated by the pale moonlight. At first, she thought it was just another memory—a fragment of the past she often revisited when loneliness crept in. But this felt different. This wasn’t a fleeting thought; it felt real. Her heart fluttered as she recognized them. Her mother, with her familiar warm smile, her father standing tall and proud beside her. They looked just as they had when she was a child, hand in hand as they waited for her. She saw Queen Amaya, standing with quiet dignity, her eyes sparkling with the same pride Esmeray remembered from their years together. More faces emerged from the shadows—friends she had known and lost, scattered throughout the chapters of her life. But at the center of them all stood Derek, waiting patiently, his hand outstretched toward her. His soft smile was exactly as she remembered, a look that had once promised a lifetime of love. Esmeray’s heart ached. For a moment, she told herself, It’s just another dream... a memory. She closed her eyes, willing herself to wake up—to return to the bed where her frail body lay in Hyspia, where the ache of regret and longing still lingered. But the sound of the waves, the smell of saltwater, and the warmth of Derek’s gaze felt too real. Her breath hitched, and the realization hit her like a soft breeze. This wasn’t a memory. This was it. This was her passing. Tears welled in her eyes, not from sadness, but from the overwhelming peace that settled deep within her. All the grief, all the regrets, the pain she carried for so long—it melted away like mist under the moon’s glow. In this moment, everything made sense. "So, this is how it ends," she whispered to herself, her voice trembling but steady. "Not with fear... but with peace." For the first time in a long while, she smiled. She looked again at the faces waiting for her. Her parents stood with open arms, Queen Amaya’s knowing gaze welcomed her home, and the many friends she had lost stood like stars guiding her path. But it was Derek’s hand that she reached for first. Her fingers trembled as they met his, the warmth of his touch grounding her. He pulled her close, wrapping her in an embrace that felt like the home she had searched for her entire life. "I’ve been waiting for you," Derek whispered, his breath warm against her ear. Esmeray let out a shaky breath, her heart settling into a quiet calm. "I’m here now," she whispered, her voice light as a breeze. For a brief moment, she hesitated. She thought of Revekka—her daughter, her bright but distant star. The guilt of their strained relationship lingered in her chest, but it no longer weighed her down. "I’m sorry, my sweet girl," she whispered softly into the night. "I tried my best... I hope you know that." She smiled through her tears. "Live well, my daughter. Live without regret." The tide rolled in, brushing against her ankles, and she gave one last glance to the horizon—the world she was leaving behind. The sorrow she had carried for so long slipped away with the waves. She turned back to Derek and took his hand firmly this time. The moment their fingers intertwined, she knew—she was free. "I’ll watch over you all," she whispered toward the living world, her words carried by the soft ocean breeze. "I’ll be with you always... in the quiet moments, in every moonlit night, in every breath of wind." She turned and walked hand-in-hand with Derek toward the gathering of souls waiting to welcome her home. With each step, the weight of her life lifted until she felt as light as the breeze, her heart full of peace. And then, there was nothing but love. When morning came, the pale light of dawn crept through the window where Esmeray lay. Her hand rested gently on her chest, her face serene. Her breathing had stilled, her soul long gone from her fragile body. Esmeray Luceran had passed on. But in that quiet room, under the fading glow of the moon, there was no sorrow—only the soft stillness of a life well-lived, and the peace of a soul finally at rest.
  9. Adelina van Leuven stood alone in the corridor, the stone walls cold against her skin. The news of Tatiyana's passing had been delivered to her by a breathless servant, and yet, the weight of it hadn't fully settled. The weight of Tatiyana’s death pressing heavily on her chest. For years, she had dismissed the woman—sharp, commanding, always drawing attention with her fierce determination. Yet now, as the news settled in, she realized her feelings hadn’t been rooted in hate but in envy. Tatiyana had embodied everything Adelina admired: boldness, unwavering duty, and a relentless drive to lead her family to success. They had both struggled against the same challenges, fighting to prove their worth in a world that often underestimated them, yet had never acknowledged the shared burden they carried. "I never hated you," Adelina whispered into the silence, her voice tinged with regret. "I envied you." The words felt heavy and bittersweet, echoing in the empty hallway. Tatiyana was gone, and with her, any chance to reconcile their complicated relationship or express the respect that had lingered unspoken between them. The realization stung deeper than she expected, for she now understood that Tatiyana had faced her own battles with the same ferocity that Adelina had learned to wield. "I hope you knew," she added softly, her heart tightening with grief for the lost connection and the opportunity for understanding that would never come. "May Godan's embrace keep you ever warm in the Seven Skies."
  10. Adelina van Leuven positioned herself on her knees with the Basilica, her hands clasped around an ornate hussariyan. Her head hund low, the golden locks of her hair falling past her face. "Godan and your mighty warriors, may vy continue to protect this kingdom and your humble children within," she uttered in her mid-day prayers. "The strength of Godan will strike down all entities of darkness!"

  12. The now Baroness, Adelina van Leuven, sat within her home's nursery, tending to her five young children. Upon hearing the news of her promotion, she collected her heir and held the babe in a tight embrace. Soon, she was clapping and cheering with all of her children as she announced the news to the babes, as if they understood the significance. "You hear that, mea sweet children? Vyr sestra, Louna, is not only to inherit this great family, but now a great Barony, too! By Godan's grace, vy will lead our family to further greatness, Louna! Light preserve the Barony of Furentaliz!" she cried out with joy. @RingAroundRosey
  13. Adelina van Leuven read the missive with wide eyes, "ANOTHER SET OF TWINS?! GOOD GODAN WHAT IS IN THE WATER!" Aside from her shock, she remained overjoyed for the arrival of more of her close friend's children. Play dates would have to be set up soon!

  16. A Public Missive on the Disownment of Junien Caisin Scelera non nostrorum. Penned by Adelina Claire van Leuven on the 16th of Wzuvar ag Byvca, 541 E.S. ꒰ ♱ ⊱─────────⊰ ✶ ⊱─────────⊰ ♱ ꒱ To the Royal Crown of Barbanov and Citizens of Haense, In the spirit of transparency and honor, I find myself compelled to address a matter that has weighed heavy on my heart. As of Gronna ag Droba in the year of Exalted Sigismund, 540, it is declared that Junien Caisin has been formally disowned from the House van Leuven. Initially, I sought to resolve the issue of Junien’s disownment in private, motivated by the desire to preserve peace and a relationship with my brother. However, as circumstances have unfolded and in light of the ongoing challenges that have arisen as a result of his actions, it has become clear that silence is no longer a viable option. The decision to disown Junien was not made lightly; rather, it stems from a series of troubles and disruptions caused by his behavior that have adversely affected both our house and standing in the kingdom. Time and again, attempts were made to guide him towards a path of responsibility and accountability, yet these efforts proved fruitless. The distress wrought by his choices has inflicted deep wounds, compelling me to take this necessary step for the greater good. As part of this disownment, I must also clarify House van Leuven’s stance on Junien’s attempt to wrongfully claim the name of our forebears, Ashford de Falstaff. While I will not go into the sheer inability of this effort nor the plethora of unfactual information penned in his missive, it is imperative to note that Junien has no right to claim the name, despite what some may say. Furthermore, due to this being the first disownment of our family, it is important to announce our adopting of a new Bastard name. While our ancestors gave out the name ‘Ashes’ to bastards, House van Leuven has decided to give the name, ‘Caisin’ - a name that now represents all of the traits House van Leuven sees as sinful and unhonorable. Please understand that this decision is not an act of animosity but rather a reflection of our commitment to ensuring that our name continues to embody honor and respect. It is my hope that this public acknowledgment will provide clarity and foster understanding among those who have stood by us during this tumultuous time. Thus as is my right as the Matriarch van Leuven, I hereby establish formally that Junien Caisin shall hereby henceforth be known as Junien Caisin “the Troublesome” Caisin. The sins of our Fathers are not ours. ꒰ ♱ ⊱─────────⊰ ✶ ⊱─────────⊰ ♱ ꒱ Signed, Firress, Adelina Claire van Leuven Matriarch van Leuven

  21. The Courtship and Marriage Traditions of House van Leuven Scelera non nostrorum. Issued by Firress Adelina Claire van Leuven on the 14th of MSITZA AG DARGUND, 533 E.S. ꒰ ♱ ⊱─────────⊰ ✶ ⊱─────────⊰ ♱ ꒱ The House van Leuven has been synonymous with the values of faith, wisdom, strength, and loyalty - each of these qualities serving as a guide for their traditions and everyday living. At the heart of their culture lies a deep reverence for the rituals that bind them together and continue the flow of tradition. Showcasing this reverence, are the intricacies of their courtship and marriage customs. ꒰ ♱ ⊱─────────⊰ ✶ ⊱─────────⊰ ♱ ꒱ Courtship The courtship process of the van Leuven family is a cherished and intricate tradition, rooted in the principles of chivalry, respect, and cultural heritage. Guided by the values of Savoyardic and Raevir cultures, as well as religious traditions, it is expected that the man will take the initiative in pursuing his desired van Leuven woman, with the ultimate goal of a lifelong partnership. The courtship process consists of three distinct phases: The first of three phases to court a van Leuven woman is marked by the Trial of Taste, by which the suitor must procure and offer a quality bottle of wine to the family of the desired lady. This ritual is a test of the suitor’s character, as well as his ability to appreciate the refined tastes of the family. If the family’s preferences of the taste approve of the wine, the courting couple may proceed with their relationship. If approval is not given, the suitor may be politely rejected or encouraged to return with a more refined and sophisticated offering. An accepted wine takes the suitor into the next phase of the courtship - Trial of Heritage. This is marked by a variety of gestures and rituals designed to express the importance of family heritage and culture. The suitor is tasked with the picking of flowers, which holds significant symbolic meaning within Savoyard culture. The selection and presentation of flowers is a delicate art, as it requires an understanding of the subtleties of meaning and gesture that are woven into every petal and stem. The flowers are often presented to the family or family home, serving as a tangible representation of the courter's devotion and commitment. Further, the flowers may be woven into the Verevka belt, giving significance to the van Leuven family’s ties to Savoyardic and Haeseni heritage. In this final stretch of the courtship process, the couple is expected to embark on an outing together - the Trial of Bonding - designed to test their ability to work together and navigate challenges as a unit. This may take the form of a hunting excursion, where they must rely on one another's strengths and weaknesses to overcome obstacles. This trial by fire serves as a crucible, refining their bond and revealing their true characters in the process. If they are unable to handle the weight of their outing together, it is seen as a sign that they are unfit for marriage and may not be destined for a lifelong partnership. ꒰ ♱ ⊱─────────⊰ ✶ ⊱─────────⊰ ♱ ꒱ On Marriage Marriage of those in House van Leuven is an occasion that is looked at with a high distinction. After a successful courtship, the family of the van Leuven bride assists in the planning and execution of a well-planned wedding. With their Raevir heritage and residence within the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska, the family fully participates in the tradition in following the Jorenic Rites for their wedding. However, the cloak worn by the groom is a unique aspect within the van Leuven marriage tradition. The cloak is to be designed by the family to incorporate the symbol of the house the groom is to marry into to symbolize his integration into the family and the role he takes on. For example, men marrying into the van Leuven family could don a cloak designed with the sun and stag emblem of the van Leuven family. Following the traditional wedding ceremony, the families of the bride and groom and invited guests are to hold a feast as a time of joy and celebration for the matrimony, and to welcome the newly weds into their new family. A unique and meaningful aspect of the House van Leuven's marriage traditions is the grape stomp. During this ceremony, the bride wears her wedding dress while stomping on grapes in a barrel, symbolizing her transformation into a wedded woman and her inability to return to her prior girlhood. This act is also a token of appreciation and good-will towards the groom's family, as the wine produced from these grapes will be used as a gift to them. The grape stomp is a cherished tradition within the House van Leuven, and is seen as a way to bring good fortune and happiness to the newlywed couple. It is also a reminder of the family's rich heritage and its connection to the land and its traditions. As such, it is an important part of the marriage traditions of the House van Leuven, and will continue to be celebrated for generations to come. ꒰ ♱ ⊱─────────⊰ ✶ ⊱─────────⊰ ♱ ꒱ Signed, Firress, Adelina Claire van Leuven Matriarch van Leuven Firress, Mahaut Marie van Leuven
  22. ESMERAY Luceran somehow gets her hands on the missive, and scans it over with pursed lips. With gentle fingers, she folds it up and tosses it into the open flames of her fireplace. "My eyes have been open to truth after being closed for so long. I am now free to give all my children my time and unconditional affection." she rubs her stomach with adoration and speaks to it. "My moon child - how I cannot wait to meet you. You, Trekker, Revekka, and Bones, shall now get the chance at the life you deserve - free from unrealistic expectations and the tyranny of a delusional ruler." The expecting mother pushes herself onto her feet and waddles out of their brand new house. She leans on the entry way and watches her family enjoying their newfound joy.
  23. Adelina sat on the edge of her bed, reading over the open letter. A single tear would roll down her cheek as she fiddled with the angel necklace handing from her neck - a gift from the late queen. Nothing but joy and admiration filled her heart as she reminisced on the times spent with her Queen-Friend. "Firr Yuri es correct - this es an obvious connection. Queen Amaya continues to bless our kingdom! Forever will she receive my gratitude."
  24. Akeketah Luceran read over the missive with a proud smile, a tear streaming down her cheek. She did not cry of sadness, but she cried of proudness for her newly adopted goblin child. The mother was gifted with yet another child destined for greatness. "Bones - I have truly been blessed with your arrival. I am proud to call you my son," she says aloud to the young child and pulling him into a hug. "All my children shall prosper in the lands of Ka'tau! Heketa Ka'tau! Heketah Oti! Heketa Amaunet! Glory to Rah'tuma!" With that, she went out and hung a banner of green, silver, and white - the colors of the Luceran family. I LOVE MY GOBLIN CHILDDDD (the other are alright too).
  25. The Baptismal, Coming-of-Age, and Funeral Traditions of House van Leuven Scelera non nostrorum. Issued by Firress Adelina Claire van Leuven on the 8th of Tov ag Yermey, 526 E.S. ꒰ ♱ ⊱─────────⊰ ✶ ⊱─────────⊰ ♱ ꒱ In the heart of the intertwining Savoyard and Raevir cultures lies a captivating narrative of heritage, adaptation, and evolution. Within the fabric of the van Leuven family, these rich traditions have melded over time, birthing a tapestry of unique customs and rituals that resonate with depth and meaning to us. Central to this fusion are the Three Pyres - its terminology derived directly from Savoyard culture - acting as symbolic markers echoing the significance of life's pivotal moments: baptism, coming-of-age, and funerals. Through the lens of these profound ceremonies, we embark on a journey of exploration, delving into the intricate layers of tradition that bind generations and shape identities. Baptisms: The Pyre of Birth Ve Nascufeu In the tapestry of van Leuven tradition, baptism emerges as a sacred rite deeply rooted in both Jorenic Canonism and Savoyard beliefs. Drawing inspiration from the vast expanse of waters, reminiscent of the Jorenic concept of purification and renewal, the baptismal ceremony embraces the symbolic strength of immersion. Families face a choice: to gently submerge their infant into the water or to opt for the preferred tradition of tossing them into the depths, symbolizing resilience and fortitude. This intimate moment is reserved for family and close friends, a sanctified bond between the child, their kin, and the divine. For the van Leuvens, baptism holds profound significance, intertwined with the notion of original sin and the imperative of cleansing. Reflecting Savoyard doctrine, it is customary for infants to be baptized within their first year, ensuring their spiritual journey commences untainted. Attendees honor this sacred occasion by bestowing gifts of wine, cheeses, and other delicacies upon the parents and babe, symbolizing abundance and goodwill. Yet, for heirs destined to inherit the mantle of leadership, the baptismal journey takes on added layers of tradition and ceremony. While the initial baptism remains a private affair, celebrated within the familial enclave, it is expected that the household head hosts a grand public ceremony to announce the future heir's union with GOD. Thus, many heirs undergo two baptisms: one intimate and personal, the other a grand spectacle, adorned in traditional attire bearing the house insignia and the names of saints, symbolizing their sacred lineage. Following the sacred rites, jubilation ensues as the van Leuvens and their esteemed guests gather to revel in the joyous occasion. Inspired by Raevir peasant customs, festivities often spill outside the church or into taverns, where refined Savoyard delicacies mingle with the spirited rhythms of Raevir dance. Before the night's revelry reaches its crescendo, the baptism dance commences, a cherished tradition wherein family and friends encircle the babe in a bassinet, weaving a tapestry of blessings and aspirations. With each participant representing virtues and qualities, the infant's reactions are interpreted as omens of their future path, imbuing the celebration with a sense of divine guidance and familial legacy. ꒰ ♱ ⊱─⊰ ✶ ⊱─⊰ ♱ ꒱ Coming-of-Age: The Pyre of Adulthood Ve Avancuadé The coming of age ceremony in the van Leuven household is a sacred tradition, steeped in symbolism and ritual. As the child approaches adulthood, they don the attire symbolic of the stag, embodying strength and grace. Wrapped in a deer hide cloak or adorned with a hussariyan cross made from antlers, they stand ready to embark on their journey of transition. The ceremony begins with a solemn church service, where the child is re-baptized, reaffirming their commitment to their faith. Following this, they embark on a pilgrimage, ranging from three months to a full year, seeking tasks to fulfill or volunteer opportunities to demonstrate their loyalty to the church and their community. This usually comes in the form of traveling to another Kingdom or Principality which follows the Canonist faith and requesting a task at the behest of the Bishop or other clergy positioned there. Upon their return, the Feast of Fire awaits, a celebration marking their entrance into adulthood. For heirs, it's a grand affair, with a feast fit for nobility and festivities tailored to their personality. Donned in one of the house colors - blue, white, or gold - or attire inspired by their lineage, they engage in games, songs, and dances, symbolizing joy and unity. The highlight of the feast is the ceremonial dance around the bonfire. Family members encircle the flames, performing traditional dances or personal choices. As the flames flicker, the debutante casts aside three items from their childhood, symbolizing their readiness to embrace the future. With a leap over the flames, they demonstrate their resilience against evil, supported by prayers and the collective spirit of their family. In the culmination of the ceremony, the household head presents the debutante with a token representing their individuality, a cherished memento of their coming of age. Additionally, they receive a gold ring adorned with a polished sunstone, bearing the insignia of the household—a symbol of their lineage and the journey they've undertaken. ꒰ ♱ ⊱─⊰ ✶ ⊱─⊰ ♱ ꒱ Funerals: The Pyre of Life Passa di l’arci In the intricate preparation leading up to the funeral ceremony, the family meticulously honors both Savoyard and Raevir traditions. The process begins with the solemn act of hunting and killing a male deer, known as a stag, symbolizing strength and resilience. Concurrently, a new sword is forged, engraved with the name of the departed, signifying their valor and legacy. As the family readies themselves for the funeral, they meticulously prepare a sumptuous feast and procure formal funeral attire, adhering to the solemnity of the occasion. The course of the funeral unfolds with deliberate symbolism and reverence. Amidst a gathering of loved ones, the feast commences, with a closed coffin serving as a poignant reminder of the impending farewell. This ceremonial meal echoes the sentiment of the "last supper," a final communion shared with the departed. Following this somber repast, the stag, hunted and killed with purpose, is emptied and laid on its back. Within its hollowed confines, the deceased is placed, adorned in new attire, embodying a departure from earthly ties. A pristine sword, never before wielded by the departed, is nestled in their hands, a testament to their journey beyond mortal realms. Two gold coins, adorned with sun motifs, rest upon their eyelids, guiding their passage into the afterlife. As the funeral ceremony unfolds, prayers are offered, and final words spoken, carrying the weight of collective grief and remembrance. The culmination of the ritual arrives with the purification of the body, enshrined within the stag's form, consumed by cleansing flames. Amidst the pyre's blaze, offerings are tenderly tossed, each item meticulously chosen and imbued with significance, symbolizing the depth of love and reverence for the departed. The ashes, now purified and sanctified, are reverently buried, often beneath a blanket of flowers, a silent tribute to the beauty and impermanence of life. In a final gesture of communal farewell, the Last Drink of Death is shared, a symbolic act of unity and remembrance as the fallen van Leuven rests beneath the earth. Through these sacred rites, the family honors their unique fusion of traditions, paying respect to both histories of their bloodline. ꒰ ♱ ⊱─────────⊰ ✶ ⊱─────────⊰ ♱ ꒱ Signed, Firress, Adelina Claire Van Leuven Matriarch van Leuven Firress, Mahaut Marie Van Leuven
