  1. REINHOLD PUBLISHING COMPANY, ISSUE NO. 7 YEAR 225 ATSTANA DE REGNE PETRÈRE A passage of titles From Joseph to Alberic This year, the year 225 ARP has proven itself to be although a slow one, an important year for the Archduchy of Petra, this because in a public missive by the Archduke Joseph Antonius Aurèle Temesch of the Petra, he passed his royal titles and all the titles associated with the throne of St. Emma on to his son. Henceforth known as Archduke Alberic étienne Temesch of the Petra. Although not confirmed by the former archduke in the missive, a proper coronation will surely be soon to follow in the coming years, once arranged by the current Palace staff. IMPERIAL NEWS Clerics of Tahariae, banned or not? At the start of this year The Princess-Justiciar of the Imperium of Man, Joan Mariana Horen, released a public missive threatening to ban the clerics of Tahariae unless clerics advocated for the positivity that the new aengul offers. These clerics had a year to try and do so. Quite recently and thus later in the year the Princess Justiciar and the High Pontiff of the Canonist Church published a missive detailing that this clericism would be allowed under five conditions which will be detailed as follows: The user must be a citizen of the Empire and they must not use their magicks to harass other Imperial citizens. Furthermore the clerics must create an imperial institution where in the least two imperials chosen by the crown will receive this magicks themselves. The aengul Tahariae may not be worshiped as a higher or equal deity to the canonist god. No Cleric may force others to follow the ideals of Tahariae in contradiction to the imperial law Any intentional harm to an imperial citizen will result in a branding of the forehead. They may not start fights with Templars of Malchadiael. The renewal of the Imperial Treasury Hugh Le Gras, the Imperial Treasurer has died at the age of 75 in his home in the Imperial capital of Rittersburg. Leaving behind five children, thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was an important figure in the Imperial system pioneering Imperial heraldry and being the imperial treasurer since the start of the Empire of Man. Soon following the death of Hugh Le Gras, a new imperial treasurer was appointed by the Imperial Archchancellor Ezra de Senna. Her name is Noiye of Soloneshnoye, effective from this year she will be the future Imperial Treasurer for the foreseeable future. The Recovery of the Empress Last edition I wrote about the disease gripping the Imperial Capital, whilst I cannot confirm this disease has totally left the Imperial capital of Rittersburg, there has been a missive released by the Imperial office of the Chamberlain on the status of the Empress. In the missive it was written that the Empress has successfully recovered from the illness and is steadily becoming healthier every day, for this the Imperium will hold a modest jubilee. The status of the Emperor however is not known. ADVERTISEMENT SPACE SEE SOMETHING? HEAR SOMETHING? WANT SOMEONE TO BUY SOMETHING? The wedding started under the Naras Aldtree, a beloved landmark of the city, traditionally long used for these marriages, The now late Bishop Godfrey spoke shortly in common and Flexio before consecrating the marriage via canonist manners. IDUNIAN NEWS The Duke of Adria is dead! For 30 years Duke Zygmunt of Adria has led the duchy, with rocky times in abundance he managed to persevere and find the Adrians a new home on the banks of a river. For this he earned the nickname “the builder”. However this age has come to an end, Duke Zygmunt has passed peacefully as far as is known to public records. The process for establishing a new duke is strangely enough not hereditary in the Duchy of Adria, the new duke is instead elected in a large gathering of the adrians called the ‘Duma’, various factions have votes in this duma ranging from the nobles and administrators to honorary electors and former Haeseni families. Various electoral votes have already been thrown out by various factions such as Father Aldersberg for Count Milos Sarkozic, and House Fontaine & the baron of Wickwald throwing themselves behind the lowborn Stekvark Lochunskofk. This Duma shall thus be an interesting event to be sure, shaping the future of the Adrians for the foreseeable future and the results of this Duma shall be anxiously awaited upon. New Barony of Idunia Without much information for the why, Castille Fontaine of House Fontaine has been elevated to the position of Baron, specifically the Baron of Montereine. This by decree of the Late Duke Zygmunt. As a baron he of course retains all the rights of such and also gets an esteemed vote as previously said above in the duma process. The position opposed to the Duchy’s title shall be hereditary. Edict on constructs Constructs, by some considered extremely dangerous, by others beloved. However these years Tar-Pharazon issued a royal Idunian decree on the use of constructs in the Idunian capital of Alduun, this being that all constructs being either forced to attain a writ of passage from the Master of alchemy or the High council of idunia. If they do not they shall be not permitted entrance into the capital city. The reason for this decree is largely unknown by the editors of this newspaper, but alas there must be a reason for this, one can only speculate that constructs have caused more damage than good for such a decree to take hold and actually be implemented. 18. ᛏᚺᛖ ᚨᚢᚲᛋ ᛁᛚᛁᚨᚱᛁᛖᛋ THE AUXILIARIES ᛏᚺᛖ ᚨᚢᚲᛋ ᛁᛚᛁᚨᚱᛁᛖᛋ Introduction Many years the legion has thrived on young dwedmar recruits but as of late Urguan has received many vassals and Yrromar in its halls, thus I introduce an old concept: the Auxiliaries. What are the Auxiliaries? The Auxiliaries are a fully volunteer force of Yrromar (foreigners), they exist alongside the legionnaires and fight alongside them. They are foreign fighters under the banner and standards of Urguan. Requirements An Auxiliary must be: Be of age, i.e. eighteen years. Be of sound body and mind. possess a good sense of loyalty. Not of Khorvadic nature. Hierarchy COMMAND GRAND MARSHAL (III) As the commander of the Legion, the Grand Marshal is specially appointed by the Grand King and is the highest position one can attain with the legion, this comes with special duties and privileges. Legates and Tribunes (II) As previously explained these are the officers of the legion, they hold direct command over all auxiliaries like they would over dwarven rank and file but they also hold command over the auxiliary commanders Auxiliary commander (I) These Yrromar are the only type of leadership in the auxiliary force, they are below all legates and tribunes however but internally have great respect towards them by certain groups in the auxiliaries which is why they get this rank RANK AND FILE Elevated Auxiliary (II) Elevated auxiliaries are the more veteran auxiliaries whom have meant something towards Urguan and have actually contributed towards the Kingdom and the Legion To attain this rank you must have 75 honour and have attended 2 legion expeditions or fighting events Auxiliaries (I) Auxiliaries are the raw recruits, once these people fill in the recruitment papers they attain this rank and begin serving in the auxiliary force. The Benefits of the legion Weapons and Armor: As an auxiliary you have access to the finest custom tailored equipment the dwarven forges can put out, you will be equipped for free by the legion for any conflict, furthermore any equipment you capture in battle is the auxiliary’s to keep! Barracks: As an auxiliary member you also have access to legion barracks provided at no cost that they can have as long as they have no permanent home in the lands or cities of Urguan Pay: Only elevated auxiliaries and auxiliary commanders shall be paid for actions taken in the legion and shall be paid per activity they come to. The Honour System Honour is the system that determines an Auxiliaries' progression through the ranks, rewarding service and obedience towards the Legion. HONOUR HOW YOU GAIN HONOUR: Completing a task assigned by a Legion Officer - +5 Honour Gate Duty - +5 Honour per Dwarven Day (max 2 hours per Stone week) Sole Patrol - +5 Honour per Dwarven Day (max 1 hours Stone week) Guarding Dwarven Meetings - +5 Honour per Dwarven Day (hour) Guarding Important Dwarves - +10 Honour Attending Legion Expeditions - +10 Honour Attending Legion Practices - +10 Honour Upholding order in the Kingdom - +10 Honour Extraordinary Behaviour (e.g. saving your fellow soldiers) - Up to the discretion of the Legion Officer RESOURCES: (25 maximum honour gained per Stone Week) Donating a stack of Iron - +5 Honour Donating a stack of Netherrite - +10 Honour Donating a stack of Leather - +10 Honour Donating Herbs - Honour depends on the value of Herbs DISHONOUR HOW YOU LOSE HONOUR: Cause of Legion Expedition failure: -10 Honour Harassment/assault of fellow soldiers: -30 Honour Misuse or theft of Legion-issued equipment: -50 Honour Speaking against the Grand Marshal or Tribune: -50 Honour Disobeying the orders of the commanding rank: -50 Honour Going stark raving mad: -100 Honour How to enlist Enlisting in the Auxiliary Force is easy, find your closest legion officer and simply ask to enlist in the Auxiliaries. Signed Grand Marshal of Dungrimm’s Legion
  19. ᛏᚺᛖ ᛚᛖᚷᛁᛟᚾ THE LEGION ᛏᚺᛖ ᛚᛖᚷᛁᛟᚾ Introduction For centuries the Legion of Urguan otherwise known as Dungrimm’s legion has been protecting Urguan from all military threats both internal and external. The legion is known for its absolute dedication and loyalty to protecting the mountain and to protect the people within. Why would you enlist? Enlisting in the legion is the best way of attaining great honour for not only your clan but also yourself, and on top of that you also honour the Brathmordakin (like Dungrimm) by fighting! Your actions in battle will truly shape your reputation in Urguan and even better when you attain a certain rank you will find yourself being paid for this too! And ultimately, your kingdom needs you! Requirements A dwarf must be: Be a beardling of age, i.e. eighteen years. Be of sound body and mind. And possess a good grasp of Urguanic law. Not be an Ironborn. All Yrromar can enlist into the legion into the auxiliaries. Hierarchy COMMAND GRAND MARSHAL (III) As the commander of the Legion, the Grand Marshal is specially appointed by the Grand King and is the highest position one can attain with the legion, this comes with special duties and privileges. TRIBUNE (II) Executive officer of the Legion, the Tribune is given delegated duties from the Grand Marshal. In the Grand Marshal’s absence, the Tribune takes command of the Legion. LEGATE (I) Junior officers of the Legion, they are worthy soldiers who have been promoted from the ranks. Legates are expected to take initiative on organizing events and leading the troops in battle RANK AND FILE PRIDEBEARER (III) Pridebearers are the elite rank attained upon exemplary service; they receive the highest pay in the rank and file and financial exemptions. However, they are expected to take the lead in combat situations and have authority over inferior ranks. Promotion Requirements: 150 Honour, attend 6 Legion practices, 5 Legion events/battles or donate 10 stacks of military resources. Any old veterans who rejoin the legion will be given the rank of Longbeard which is equivalent to Pridebearer (either 2 stone years of Legion service or an officer or above position within the ranks) IRONGUARD (II) Ironguards are the Legion's regulars; this rank is attained once the oath of loyalty to the Legion is taken. These soldiers are expected to perform most of the day-to-day duties and attend Legion training and combat missions. Promotion Requirements: 50 Honour, attend two Legion practices and either attend a Legion event/battle or donate 2 stacks of military resources. GRUNT (I) Grunts are the raw recruits in the Legion; once a dwarf completes their enlistment papers, they are immediately granted the rank of Grunt. These soldiers are not accorded the privileges granted to superior ranks (i.e. payment) and have yet to take the oath of loyalty, guaranteeing their place within the Legion. The Oath This oath is sworn when one attains the rank of Ironguard, it is sworn towards the realm and towards the god, thus breaking it would be of great dishonour, it is sworn in official ceremony and goes as follows: “I swear to Yemekar and the Brathmordakin the following unbreakable oath, That I shall promise to be faithful to the Grand King “Name Here” and shall be so long as he reigns, I pledge my loyalty to Urguan and the Legion. I swear to act without treachery or evil intentions that would dishonour my kin, to uphold the realm's laws and protect the Khazadmar to the death. May Dungrimm hold me to my word.” This oath can only be broken by being relieved from duty by an active legion officer or the Grand Marshal. The Benefits of the legion Weapons and Armor: As a legion member you have access to the finest custom tailored equipment the dwarven forges can put out, you will be equipped for free by the legion for any conflict, furthermore any equipment you capture in battle is the legionnaire’s to keep! Barracks: As a legion member you also have access to legion barracks provided at no cost that they can have as long as they have no permanent home in the lands or cities of Urguan Pay: Only Ironguards and above shall be paid for actions taken in the legion and shall be paid per activity they come to. The Honour System Honour is the system that determines a Legionnaires progression through the ranks, rewarding service and obedience towards the Legion. HONOUR HOW YOU GAIN HONOUR: Completing a task assigned by a Legion Officer - +5 Honour Gate Duty - +5 Honour per Dwarven Day (max 2 hours per Stone week) Sole Patrol - +5 Honour per Dwarven Day (max 1 hours Stone week) Guarding Dwarven Meetings - +5 Honour per Dwarven Day (hour) Guarding Important Dwarves - +10 Honour Attending Legion Expeditions - +10 Honour Attending Legion Practices - +10 Honour Upholding order in the Kingdom - +10 Honour Recruiting new Legionnaires - +15 Honour ((Honour is only granted whenever recruits show up to their first training)) Extraordinary Behaviour (e.g. saving your fellow soldiers) - Up to the discretion of the Legion Officer RESOURCES: (25 maximum honour gained per Stone Week) Donating a stack of Iron - +5 Honour Donating a stack of Netherite - +10 Honour Donating a stack of Leather - +10 Honour Donating a stack of Copper - +10 Honour Donating Herbs - Honour depends on the value of Herbs DISHONOUR HOW YOU LOSE HONOUR: Cause of Legion Expedition failure: -10 Honour Harassment/assault of fellow soldiers: -30 Honour Misuse or theft of Legion-issued equipment: -50 Honour Speaking against the Grand Marshal or Tribune: -50 Honour Disobeying the orders of the commanding rank: -50 Honour Going stark raving mad: -100 Honour How to enlist Enlisting in the legion is easy, find your closest legion officer and simply ask to enlist in the legion.
