The Government should have never intervened and have just left it to the people to do it themselves. Marriages are part of a tradition founded by the Bible (and other scriptures). It clearly states that homosexual marriage is not right and now that the government has forced people to tolerate homosexual people in Houses of God. This is violating the First Admendment and the phrase, "Religion vs. state".
However, the way the United States' government tax policies, insurance, and other financing works is if you are married or not, it can have an impact on your financing in positive ways.. Being gay and unmarried means you wouldn't receive the benefits of "regular" married couples. Honestly, they should file with the IRS as couples other than ravaging culture and tradition that has been in place for the past two millenniums.
I do not hate homosexuals, I just do not think they should of asked the state to interfere with the beliefs of people.
