  1. Just made Kebabs...Steak tenderloin, yuum!

  2. You can actually. It simply involves making others perceive you as not existing. Quite easy if they don't see you when you perform it on them, without breaking their logic. It was permitted during the time of the MAT, it's fine now. Now how long can it be maintained ? Probably not too long.
  3. The lore is pretty damn well written, kudos to you for not only explaining our current mindless undead. But also creating prospective great roleplay. However I am curious, these people still eat like normal people as well? Or is their appetite made to a different standard now?
  4. Solid lore, a good grasp on what the magic can do, be original and be sure to set forth the red lines which the magic can't do. Be VERY specific.
  5. Post goes in the magic lore section. Guides are encouraged and will better chances of success. Don't replicate other magic types with regards to ability, illusion can what you want for example. Lore is absolutely required Good luck :D, it's hard to get magic lore accepted these days, and I wish you all the best.
  6. Toodles, Teli! Enjoy yourself, I always enjoyed our conversations. ^.^
  7. So, has there been a forge 1.7.4 yet? Because 1.7.2 still has broken screenshots

  8. Cir'dian looks to the heads. squinting as he reads one of the notes over before exhaling a sigh "...What the hell is a 'Pruge' " He states, frowning as his gaze then shifts to the heads. Cir'dian looks down, lightly shaking his own before turning an returning to his home with a sigh "Good thing I'm no longer a mage...Not like they could do much to stop them anyway."
  9. Men roleplay as women too you know. So stop being biased towards ones own gender. And I am sure men can have just as much scientific knowledge about pregnancy as women. Without the shitty part of actually needing to give birth to it. But since we're not talking about birth, there is no bias male view. If people want to debate that a woman carrying a large weight in front of their stomach which often causes back problems, difficulty walking alongside other issues with mobility? Then there is no biased male perspective, there is what we can observe, and deduce from that. And once more exclude modern examples because unlike many men...They are biased towards modern laws which do in fact change the results of things which may otherwise turn out differently. And as for dwarf babies? Clearly they come from when a dwarf wins a drinking contest, the excess beard in their hair resulting in a new full grown dwarf hacking his way free with his axe to see the light of day, and plastering part of the beard of the old dwarf to his face, hence beginning his own beard. This offspring is known as a beardling. The guide however is well written, so good job on that :)
  10. Silence. That is all that was audible deep below where Cir'dian lay his head. He stared downwards to his hands, between them rest an unopened letter. A faint smile crossed over his face as he reached over, pinching the letter opener resting off to the far right corner of his desk. He carefully slid it into the fold of the envelope, pulling it over to undo the wax seal which bars him from the contents within. Cir'dian then pulled free the letter within, lightly licking his lips before he unfolded it, eyes swiftly scanning through the page before pausing. He inhaled a deep breath, adams apple visibly bobbing before finishing scanning over the letter, as he then placed it against the counter top. To his nose he brought his hands, resting both fingers against its bridge as he emitted a single, quivering breath. Lightly shaking his head, tears began to assail him, and he sat still. Cir'dian could be seen to then take up a small quill, drawing a small card of paper towards him as he then dipped it into the well, tapping off the excess. He brought it to the paper, and began to write. "And so ended grace. And so thy hand flows no more. Yet to look to the sky, for with him is your place. And leave us here in this moore, To grovel, and mourn yearn for what is now but empty space You've paid your tithe. Your duty completed, Though the lives you once filled now writhe, Over what once was- now depleted. Go on merrily, you say. And so we shall, until we meet again one day. " He looked over he paper, resting down his quill. Proceeding to rest his hands in his arms. Once more the room was silent, though far more tense than prior.
  11. The difference is after readying and moving in to lunge also known as charging, be sure to request PVP prior, if they've issue simply direct them to the guide or explain the difference yourself. The point is that attacking isn't involved in PVP preparation. The problem is negated by use of common sense and a bit of referencing official LoTC content (Such as this guide)
  12. The goal of this guide is to set forth a basic set which involves as little confusion as possible. While scenarios may vary, the point remains that it is far less confusing for all players involved when no actions are taken against the players in roleplay. This way we do not even have the potential to mix up the roleplay combat intent vs PVP combat intent. While striking a player may not in itself result in roleplay combat default, it can lead to far to much confusion on the matter. If you wish you adhere to remaining able to strike a player with emotes, then state your PVP intent before you start the encounter at all. Because you don't RP combat is presumed due to the fact that you're well..Roleplaying the combat.
  13. Preparation isn't the same as rp combat. It's intended to prepare, not to actually be (Or to start actually fighting). As stated above, that's for the PVP part to do. And this method also completely rids any chance of there being confusion of PVP default or RP. Remember to mention your intent before you continue anyway instead of just demanding PVP on the spot.
  14. Introduction I am writing this guide to help clarify a large issue that I am seeing throughout the server as it pertains to the difference between roleplay combat and pvp preparation. More often than not players seek to initiate pvp through use of actually striking a player, as opposed to pure preparation and initiation of the fight without an actual emote stating a strike. What is PVP Prep? Well, pvp preparation is the sequence of speech and emotes used to prepare for the initiation of pvp default on the server. What is needed to be known is that once roleplay combat is initiated, it is against the rules to change it to pvp for the sake of gaining an edge. This is something which a plethora of players often forget, and abuse. Now, pvp preparation is merely fulfilling the need for sufficient roleplay before initiating combat with the players involved. Sufficient roleplay doesn't however, include striking or any form of actual assault on the other players. Rather it is acts of actually preparing for the fight, but not truly starting it. That part is left entirely up to PVP. This way we don't have any confusion as to if the roleplay is RP or PVP. Here is an example of proper PVP preparation. Now, it's here we ask if there is intent on PVP or RP, note this extremely important step before continuing with the roleplay! Note how both parties remain civil and respectful of each other throughout the encounter. A discussion should be done as it pertains to auto armoring. Each player may make use of this ability if one of the following requirements are met. 1) The player has an armor skin Or 2)The player is a mage This information was attained through Viper3x, alongside the rule of no changing rp to PVP mid combat without all players involved consenting. Screenshots may be provided if requested. RP Combat Rp combat has taken the back seat to PVP on our server. However some players do prefer it over the more simplistic method of PVP. RP combat involves detailing out the entire fight through emotes, describing it in detail which PVP usually cannot attain. However the downsides are that it takes longer and cannot be guaranteed to not involve arguments in OOC. This is why some players prefer the PVP method, since it is faster and can involve less drama if executed properly. While PVP Preparation involves merely using emotes and speech to set the stage for a fight between players, roleplay combat is the entire fight. As such you do initiate combat in rp to start it. Strikes are alright to emote. Here is an example of proper Roleplay combat. This image display the potential prospect of conflict between roleplayers. Note that both parties state their concerns, and move on to find a way to solve the problem. In this case it was best that a roll was done to determine how that blow would go, and roleplay moved on without a hitch! However if an agreement cannot be came to, then if all parties agree, the mode of combat can be changed to pvp. After the roleplay, each player was courteous and respectful. This form of behavior is expected and appreciated. Conclusion There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to the decision of roleplay combat or pvp. It is purely a matter of preference which each player will form as they work their way through their experience in Lord of the Craft. Both bear benefits and downfalls which make each appealing to different players. However we must remember that each form has different ways to intitiate the sequence. We don't do anything besides prepare as it pertains to PVP default. RP combat however involves the ability to strike. It is important to remember that once RP combat is initiated, it cannot be changed unless all players involved agree to it. Thank-you for taking the time to read this guide, and may your experience in Lord of the Craft go without hitch, and be enjoyed by both you and those you roleplay with. Have a nice day. ~Agith Special thanks go to: Chikaea for agreeing to pin this guide, and post it for me. Watyll, for aiding in attaining the screenshots provided above. Viper3x for clarifying with me on how the rules apply. If there is anything that you think is missing or should be added? Feel free to tell me. Edits with much love from Chikaea, in regards to some things to add: Thanks so much to Birdwhisperer for this edit! It's an idea that I personally enjoy. Something that you can do when fights involve two people are duels! In order to initiate a duel you simply type /duel, then right click the other player participating in the duel. These are my personal favorite when it comes to additions to the server! For one thing, this can help to promote rp, because instead of there just being death, and then a completely lack of rp after the death of a player. They can rp that the player is only injured, not dead - and I don't know about the other GMs and Admins, but personally I think that if they want to finish them off in rp from there, I would STRONGLY encourage it. This would allow it to be a quicker fight, as I know is a large problem with some people regarding rp combat, but wouldn't kill nearly as much rp as plain old pvp. It's up to you guys, but when possible I would suggest this option!

  18. Cir'dian can be found on front stairs of the Sintel residence, staring blankly to the small wand left to him. He inhales a sharp breath, eyes dry. Overall he'd seem quite normal, albeit to those knowing of him, there is something different at this moment. There is no smile, no light hearted tone. His shoulders sag and ears droop. Prior to this those within the residence would have found his door locked, though through the small porthole is visible a man, arms buried into his arms which lay against the table. His shoulders bob heavily with each audible pained weep. Once more the wand lay before him, in front of his arms. He steals only the occasional glance to it. The tips of his ears are flushed. And then he goes silent, closing his eyes tightly as the sobbing ceases, leaving nothing but a statue-esque scene of a man with his head buried into his arms. One may mistake this for sleeping, though the reality is far different.
  19. Did the server just kick anyone else out and won't let them back in too?

  20. "Butts!" one particular man calls out, proceeding to walk away without further interest
  21. I will simply restate that not everything should be easily won.
  22. Whelp...I was one of two survivors. Quite frankly I think the actual part post rp was a bit expected to be hard, and I won't judge. That said the rp prior was lovely, and it served its purpose. The people saying otherwise probably are just sore that they lost the battle and that skews their entire beliefs on the ordeal. So lets talk about the rp prior. The event didn't seem to have a inherent intent to attack. It was the players who started that fight and you can't win everything. Six? Cultists with notable magic abilities are expected to put up a fight and I am going to attribute the loss to the people who fled and the lack of much effort as a whole from the defenders. That said there was a lot of confusion. At first it seemed as though we shouldn't attack the cultists (And I do believe I got kicked for shooting one). That added to the issue. Though once more I state it's fine that you lose every now and again, the problem is we can't have such big events during this time of night (It's 12 am on a school night). The PVP itself was a bit of a cluster ****, but whatever. Now what really pissed me off was after PVP Was called off, I was still being attacked by one of them (Heero?), who was casting spells and summoning mobs. That in itself is unacceptable and should never have happened. As a whole the event had it's ups and downs, and it is unfair to say it completely sucked. It had it's good sides (The RP was sufficient) and its bad (PVP balance...However 20-ish? people vs 6 seems feasible. And again, sometimes it's good to lose). P.S. Soul stoners, you died in that zone, you shouldn't be coming back anyway! 30 minute rule still applies, and all those who DID soulstone before that broke that rule. That said, last I checked raid rules weren't given to antag groups because it limits them. They are heavily (Or supposed to be) moderated and many GMs are present. I am quite sure that's not the issue.
