Well...In response to Akira; do you make note of the fact you are wearing spiked gauntlets? Though I think the inherant problem is that people become bonded to their characters a bit much. Death isn't permanent, they know this...So why not just take a good whack and then teleport to their home or the temple and roleplay having been healed. Hell last time an orc struck me, he knocked my character clean out with a single punch. But how is it a diamond clad orc is not at least somewhat slow eh? Plated armor is heavy as it is, and is not designed for speed ( Unless it's articulated...But that only offers plating in the front of the body so trade offs are trade offs ) Though I don't think an orc who fights with his hands would find a benefit in wearing armor personally, that's your choice. Though there are cases where armor doesn't quite play a part...Take the renaissance. ARticulated armor was about, but their blades were designed to pierce armor. THere is no reason a man who is well versed in his blade will stand no chance to another. Armor is an advantage, not a means of ultimate victory.
As for this rule being abused, there are times when voiding roleplay is necessary out of the sheer disagreement on a problem. It aids in avoiding conflict should neither party choose to back down. I am not an advocate for just voiding all roleplay, however usually both people are very stubborn and don't realize the magnitude that fighting brings about. Typically, with some conversation one will back down, i believe voiding roleplay should be last ditch, and agreed upon by both players (obviously.), though when a man is powergaming, that leaves the realm of reality...As such action can be taken to bring in aid, and it is expected that this happens rather than the person powergaming back to stand a chance. A wide variety of age groups is what causes this sort of this to occur, some people pick up on how other players act, and wish to replicate it thinking that they are doing things right...Or they're stubborn as mules, no one should win EVERY fight they come into, eventually they will be outmatched.
As this rule is used, it will be developed and modified to better fit situations. It is alright to be somewhat general right now, specifics come with time and experience after all.

Now to wrap this up...
I <3 you all. ;-)
