Einnatz

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) "My.. Story? That's certainly a way to say hello. You wouldn't be expecting someone of my ilk. You're blessed to be in the presence of a mali-.. well. Not that it may matter anymore," he'd state dryly, his gaze flickering a slight glare at the elderly woman before falling downward towards the seat. "Ooh is that sphagnum moss? I haven't seen that except in my books, I'll just.." In a flash he would bend down, quickly procuring a vial and tweezers apparently at the ready from his pockets, scooping a wad of moss in. His stoic expression would break into a childlike wonder, his eyes glued to the vial, and his mouth agape. After a few moments, his gaze would rise to the woman and harden. His tall frame would silently slide into the chair, his posture and attitude switching back to the typical haughty and apathetic High Elven demeanor. "Ahem.. Well. None of my kind would ever come here anyhow. But if you must know.. I am a born and bred High Elf. Don't let my perceived hair color fool you. I live amongst the Pure and Wise and I.." He'd roll his hands over his fingers and knuckles, slowly going through each digit. "Let's call it a journey or a.. hiatus from my family and city. They don't understand the value of what's in front of them, just the facts they can write about. I admire their keen insight, but a part of me wishes they could see a little more than black or white. I aim to find my answers on my voyage. I wish to be renowned for all my aspects. I want to- deserve to shine just as brightly as the crest on my back." He'd sit up, exhaling a contained sigh of relief. "That should answer your question. Now I have much more business to attend to, as you can see." He'd make his way out of the tent, only to pop his head back in after a moment. "Say, do you have a map?"
