  1. No you don't, you have the most developed land and one of the safest lands AND the only one with a city in it, Kal'Dwain. Everyone else has basically flat lands, with little to nothing on them. Dawnsworn have a small village and the braveaxe-blackaxe have nothing. Plus, living in the city, you have about the same number as us and the merging blackaxe-braveaxe. Makes no sense.
  2. (( Dwarves don't write with accents... But I do like that he's selling them off cheap. Shows he is more into the RP then the minas. Some other people sell for like 2-8k.. ))
  3. People cheat and plus mining is unbalance compared to food and lumberjacking (ores worth a ton more than food or lumber) I say each "Hold" get tasks to perform, like Kjell may assign each hold to do a military, political, economical and cultural thing per week, so we have things to do and things to RP. Or Kjell just makes a BIG list and we work from there.
  4. Holds will end up producing everything, whether we like it or not...Plus some trades are more profitable than others, like mining gets you diamonds while logging gets you...apples and logs. I would just have a list of things needed to be done. We already need a ton of stuff done (Get each hold up and running, get Mt Ire running, get supplies, get diamond armor, etc) And as I said, keep it just King's territory, not irehearts...irehearts have like 1-2 clan members, it makes more sense that the king rules over some territory, the most defended and best land as its "capital" and oversees everything from there.
  5. Ireheart land should just be called "King's land" and all commoner clans or clanless dwarves would be under the kings banner. Also, our system is more like Skyrim with holds and Jarls while the renatus system is more like game of thrones. I think the king should just put up a list of things done and clans pick the jobs up and try to accomplish them. Like the king may say "we need a stack of obsidian stack of diamond stack of gold* and the jarls of the hold will tell their people + clan-kin to work and fill the kings demand. Other then that looking good.
  6. *tacks a note upon the flurry of others* Our men may have the arm and renown of dwarves, but some of us, especially the newer kin, may be lacking in hard combat training and skills. I suggest we take forays of untrained troops into wild-lands, where they will fight and train against hordes of undead fiends. We should use iron armor for training purposes against the mob-horde, and equip diamond for true battle. The minas we earn from dropped mobs, will find great use in purchasing diamond to outfit troops. While I haven't fought in ages, my crossbow beckons to me to utilize it in arms against ANY invader. - Hagan of the Dawnsworn ( We should go to Elandriel or the wilds and take a bunch of people who need to get their skills up to train against mobs. They will get higher skills + get us money to buy more equipment + will be some decent RP/unity. )
  7. *After bearing witness to the burning of Mili, Hagan looks a bit glum.* Hope det de clan stays all good after det...of what I knae, Mili was an old clansman. Even if he ain't kin, dwarves need tu stick together. ( This clan thread format looks awfully familiar btw... :P )
  8. ( I thought the clan members were supposed to vote on the merge... on the irongut thread everyone voted to keep the irongut name and even their were more votes to not merge than to make a new name lol. don't -1 Mili's post, especially when is rping his char properly (and its an rp post ))
  9. *You receive a note from a chicken* ( Check pm )
  10. Essentially. I felt it'd be a shame to just toss the char away, and plus I was hoping someone could expand on this character and begin to take a fondness to it, because I do think the premise creates and engages great roleplay. I'm sure she'll be a fun char, as long you engage yourself into the mold developed. Kanatar I sent ya the PM. And if anyone else is interested, just post here or PM me! If you enjoy the premise we can surely work something out.
  11. Hello LotC Community! Recently, I've been roleplaying as a female dwarf priest, Hildr Dawnsworn. A die-hard crusader who goes about preaching the good faith, Hildr is a talented, unique and interesting figure with a foreboding past of religious exile and seeks to restore the ancient dwarven cultures along with promoting her newly revived clan and the newly revived religion. I was planning on roleplaying her for a long period of time, but recently I've been given assignments which wouldn't really befit the character. Hildr would probably be too busy studying ancient runes, runesmithing, crusading, battling, or preaching, over managing business, clan affairs, or politics. Furthermore, I desired to engage and promote the forest-dwarf culture, and decided to reroll as Hildr's husband, a jovial forest dwarf named Hagan Dawnsworn. While I enjoy Hagan's roleplay, I do miss the presence and RP behind Hildr and also would enjoy a communal family bond injected into the dwarven RP. Thus, I was hoping if someone could RP as Hildr, if they were seeking a new, prominent RP role in the new rising dwarven community. Some benefits would be... - Matriarch of a prominent, large, scholarly and interesting clan, the Dawnsworn - Respect and governmental position in the society due to my earlier RP's with Hildr - Resources galore, large tracts of land for settlement - A beautiful keep in a meadery to reside in, overseeing the busy workers preparing ale and foods and committed to both RP and production. - Great roleplay, in all facets! Religious RP, combat RP, family RP, political rp, mythic rp, and relationship RP galore. Hildr, while stoic, has made both friend and enemy alike. It does seem a bit awkward to ask someone to RP as my char's wife, but because I've already established some RP with this character and it would be a shame to throw it away. If no one takes up the offer, I will probably just have her succumb to the plague, because it would be very difficult for me to RP both sides of a couple. Thus, I hope I could find help in the LotC Community in aiding me! Hildr's character is pretty broad as of yet, as while the main theme of her is piety and fairness, she can elaborated much further to your whim, and we can always find ways to suit her to you. I do expect you to be a fairly good Rper able to handle her role, because it is a complex one. A way to OOC communicate would also be great, either through TS or Skype, though not necessary. If you are interested, please send me a PM or just post here! I can elaborate her character much more along with her actions if you are interested, this is just a -very- short summary. Thanks! PS: Here is a bit of info about Hildr on her VA and about the Dawnsworn clan VA: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/52931-acceptedunread-hildr-va-thecrackerjack/page__p__406208__fromsearch__1#entry406208 Clan: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/51488-the-dawnsworn-clan/
  12. (( Dislike...? I didn't like that you changed your mind, but I don't dislike you. We had really good RP otherwise, it was awesome you went along with it considering many nation leaders wouldn't, its just I was kind of frustrated earlier and very tired, because everyone was trying to find ways to pin a ban report on us... Anyway, I guess I'll hold my tongue. Just saying that this could be solved RPly. Even if you abhor them, a temporary tribute to save your holiest, precious peoples would fit the lore of what I've read ( was once Kharajyr ). I'm just tired of people bickering OOC over RP conflicts. If the Meta is truly that horrendous, then put a ban report on it, or talk to a panel of GM's and Admins... or even just plead with the Orcs through private OOC instead of bringing them to public and making them look bad. ))
  13. (( I agree, losing the Kharajyr would blow. They have good RP and lore behind them... but in this case, the orcs are not just going in to kill them. Either find a way to defeat the orcs, through either mass war production or the gathering of allies, or submit to the tribute and accept the fact, IC, that things need to be done. Empires, nations and kingdoms have all submitted to one another at one point. BTW Orcs are stupid and sluggish. Take advantage of it in an RP fight. ))
  14. ( http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/48875-ban-report-on-theredninja/page__p__369540__hl__%2Btheredninja+%2Breport__fromsearch__1#entry369540 ) (Through this, I'm pretty sure everyone can be brought to justice at least on some level, GMs and Admins alike. If the evidence is there show it, otherwise it's just going to need to be dealt with Rply...not sure if anyone will take a stand because it is unfair)
  15. ( ... ) ( Just RP along with it. If its between paying tribute or having your race extinguished, just pay the damn tribute. Even the most haughty rulers will acknowledge tribute over extinction of their peoples. If there's some substantial proof of the meta, then show it for the world to see through a ban report or something. Otherwise, there isn't much you can do...it's RP, its supposed to be dynamic. If a race cannot thrive in Asulon, it won't. The sad, harsh truth. A solid middle ground would perhaps be to get as many allies as possible, and begin an RP defense. But otherwise, you are in a binding compromising situation, and one must accept the hard-facts no... BTW, a heads up, but even through getting allies an orcish attack would finish the kharajyr, either sooner or later. Tribute makes the most RP sense. Rarely, in any society, let alone a feudalistic fantasy medieval setting, would you see a strong nation just ignore a weak, exploitable one...that would be bad RP. Because you are the underdog you need to use every card in the deck, and if that means a surrender so be it. )
  16. (( I wouldn't see how migrant workers who left due to drought would create a totally new, genetic-wise subrace, especially if it was so recent as a few elven months ago.. Could be like a newer generation of forest dwarves, the non-exiles. )) (Based on the LotC skill system on the wiki, forest dwarves are better lumberjacks ...though i think mountain dwarves are the best fighters))
  17. *As Hagan Dawnsworn plops himself upon a working desk, he scrawls out a hearty essay. Hoping for his dwarf-kin to learn a bit more about the elusive forest dwarf, he swiftly scribes a long essay on a dwarven oak parchment. He hangs it for many to see.* The term “Forest Dwarf’ has often been met with raised eyebrows and hearty laughter, for to associate the elven love of foliage and nature with dwarves seems backwards and wrong. But while stereotypes plague our people, the forest dwarf is still a bloodline of kin to be acknowledged and recognized. While it is easy to associate us with the other kindred of Halflings, by the Paragons we have distinct characteristics and mythos which define us as so. The notion of forest dwarves originated through the varying exiles of dwarves. Exiled dwarves were often cast out to the surface, banished from the stone they originated from. However, those thrown out for political or religious reasons which displeased their kings were forced to be exiled into forests, jungles and plains, where they made an honest living. A vast majority of exiles were those who received banishment for following the true faiths when it was forbidden, making many religious and pious to the true gods(though in a more shamanistic or druidic manner then proper dwarven). While over time the banishments wore off, many forest dwarf bloodlines stuck to the wilds of the surface, raised and born there, and fearful of returning to the cold stone of the cave and mountain dwarves. Because these forest dwarves were exiled and abandoned to the wilds of Aegis, a key defining cultural aspect is the bond of the nuclear family. Family bonds are forged through their isolationism, as because of their banishment, they are often ostracized by their mountain and cavern-kin along with being viewed poorly by the haughty woodland elves, for their stature and appearance. Thus, a forest dwarf had only himself and his small family to care for and support, creating a cultural stigma of the importance of the internal family. This is in stark contrast with the traditional dwarven clan-way of viewing all the external family with equal grace, as to the forest dwarf, while he would respect, acknowledge and empower his clan, the trials of his direct kindred are priority. Furthermore, isolation from traditional dwarven customs have brought other cultural and physical traits to the forest dwarves. While isolated peoples exiled across various continents and kingdoms, forest dwarves are often jovial and content. The warmth of elven societies and nature has fostered a more peaceful lifestyle compared to the chaotic and war-like societies of honor-bound dwarves. Thus, forest dwarves have a sense of compliance, though still are dwarves at heart with shortened tempers. The tightness of the forest-dwarf family bond also results in forest dwarves much more festive over their stone-kin. Constantly around the family, a forest-dwarf often is much more celebratory and showing about his praise for a good harvest, a good lumber operation, a good birth, and the good gods. They are a few traits and skills forest dwarves are notorious for. The woodland skills of foresting manifest themselves in most forest dwarves. Lumbering became a natural occupation for the early exiled forest dwarves, as striking the lumber with a traditional axe was not far from mining the earth with a pickaxe. Finding a forest dwarf who does not possess proficiency in lumbering, farming, archery, fishing or survivalism is uncommon. One of the best known traits is also their skill in brewery. Due to their knowledge of dwarven ale along with the resources accumulated in the wilds, forest dwarves are often master brewers and master drinkers. They compete often with Halflings over who can brew and consume more ale, and it is rare to see a Halfling best a true forest dwarf. Furthermore, a penchant of wealth can be found in the forest dwarves. While elves and halflings would dare not operate lumber mills or meaderies due to it "violating" their beliefs, a forest dwarf would see no qualm as long as the destruction caused by the properties was counterbalanced by restoration or piety. Differences between traditional and forest dwarves can be noticeable just upon a glance. Forest dwarves are almost always taller due to some mixed blood or simply exposure to nature over damp caverns. Often with a brazen look due to time spent in the forests, they still grow their beards out to signify a pride in their dwarven ways, but may adopt some elven mannerisms. Furthermore, many forest dwarves are magically attuned compared to their stone peers, most often from mixing of bloods or exposure to magic on the surface. Clashes between the two often occur in regards to surface settlements and religion, where forest dwarves may be ridiculed for the actions of their great-great grandparents and their exile, or for a forest dwarves eagerness to work with wood over stone, or wheat over mushroom. Nonetheless, dwarves will remain dwarves, and the forest dwarves still possess the honor, valor, temper, greed and love of ale as all dwarves. Some consider them the more aggressive Halflings, being tightly knit communities of educated rural-kin who work hard to earn coin and preserve their family bond. But no matter the forest in our name, we are still dwarves, and we are still the sons of Uruguan. Treat us as so. *Hagan smiles, hoping later to show Hildr and compile his experience as a forest dwarf with her knowledge of the olden ways for cross-reference* ( A non-canon IC lore essay about forest dwarves. If you guys like, we can utilize it, otherwise take it with a grain of salt. To those who don't know, I'm going to be RPing as Hagan Dawnsworn, Hildr's husband who is a forest dwarf. She will be busy studying runes and dig-sites, while Hagan manage the Dawnsworn estates, politics and possibly warfare. BTW, Hildr is not a forest dwarf, she is just a formerly exiled cave dwarf, while Hagan is a forest dwarf. )
  18. *Savage prowls about the Dreadfort. He ponders the dilemna in regards to his excess loot before charging up to the foyer and barking out to his peers...* "Prithee, comrades, whoth shalt me sell lootie too? Airone, galded n' daomean galore, but me a poor merchants. People see Savage and think "he smelleth of wrot and toil! Begone!" Plus Savage not a like of bargain. Troublesome, and no fun. Savage used to taking. Can anyone be war-merchant? Trade bannerman loot for coin, keep commission, give rest? Me would be happy if so." *Savage crawls about, grinning in the manner of a dumb dog and hoping for a response.* (BTW, I have 1,2ab,4)
  19. (nope anyone can buy a noble house, and for being able to afford it, your status goes up.)
  20. *Cibrier waves a bag of coin and shouts* Instant purchase on thou's daomean (diamond) set o' armach (armor) for 6,000 minas! When shall we arrange such trade?
  21. -drops a note for Daedir- 13 diamonds, 5200!
  22. (( But the clans aren't really equal in this case... It's a two-person clan merging with the biggest and most powerful dwarf clan in Asulon. Doesn't make sense for the merger to be on totally equal footing. ))
  23. Nae, de remainin' starbreakers merged wit de' Goldhands. Dey had none a clan leader, so dey had little a'choice. I dun mind clans absorbing anudder tuu much. Just hope it wurks out well n' nothing foul arise. I dun understand why de' Ironguts wuuld merge wid de Starbreakers t'ough.
  24. Wuuldn't de golem just follow around de pupils? Dets how dey normally wurk...
