Within the town of Karovia, a vast throng of townsfolk head to the Akovian mountain keep, admiring its grandeur and majesty. Though the commoners still grieved the recent plague that had gripped their once proud King Varon, they were stimulated by the prospect of a just and rewarding ruler being made. Afterall, such perilous, dark times required a competent liege, for every Akovian, noble and peasant alike, sought to bask once more in the light of prosperity and stability. Within the keep, stood the esteemed assembly of electors, claimants, and those associated with such classes. Among them stood the hardened family of Vanir, comprised of the most fearsome warriors Akovia had to offer. At their side, with the unmistakable Vydrani plume, stood one that many tales had spoken of. Andrik of the house Vydra. Composed, capable, and with a glare that made skin crawl and struck the hearts of men with unease. Soon, emerging from his quarters, appeared Vasili Vanir, the Lord Regent. As those attending were ushered into silence, he spoke, "The Council of Electors have been unanimous in their selection of a King!" Pausing, the Lord Regent, unraveled a scroll with deft fingers and a keen eye, stating, "Andrik, Patriarch of House Vydra, has hereby been elected King of Akovia. Should he accept, he is tasked with defending the sovereignty of this fair Kingdom, and protecting the rights and freedoms of those who call this glorious place home." Andrik, stoic as always, let out a barely audible mutter, “I accept.” The congregation imparted their support with a round of audible applause as they parted to clear a path for Andrik. Taking his seat upon the throne, the King gazed upon his subjects, unsmiling as he waved to courtiers to begin preparations for a celebration.

The newly made Lord Justicar smiles ever so slightly at the word of his ascension to the privy council, being sure to write a missive to his liege lord assuring his loyalty and the due diligence he will employ in his new office.

A single figure rides down a cobbled and weathered path, his pace steady and cautious. In the distance emerged Karovia, once proud Ruska, the homeland of his family. Upon a horse rode Andrik Vydra, last living scion of the House Vydra, vanquished from their ancestral lands by the armies of House Kovachev years and years ago. He grimly thought of how the harbingers of his family's destruction now ruled paramount over all his people. He rode with purpose, this man, his dark hair matted and wet. His eyes gleamed with ambition, barely hidden by his hard set features. He arrived at the gates, voices calling from above. As the portcullis rose, the man gazed over the flying banners of Kovachev and Karovia, muttering almost silently: "Now it begins." The lone traveler nudged his heel into his mount, cantering slowly into the city as riders came forth to greet him.

An era was ending. One by one, the true sons of the Dreadfort were turning to dust, leaving ash, bone, and above all, a legacy of terror and fear in their wake. Would there ever be another gathering of mortals capable of instilling a level of pandemonium as those marauders of House Flay? Any sane being should hope not. With the death of Han, there is one less danger in the world, one less reason for the heavy heart, one less reason for Dread. Arguably one of the last of Augustus' brood, an exemplary model of the founding principles of the Flayed Man, Han "The ***** Fit" is no doubt finally at peace, condemned forever in the fires of the Nether with his fallen comrades.

Across the land, soldiers and blades for hire lament, their crimson cloaks and bandannas adorned once more in a silent vigil of grieving. Drelik Letholdus - the favored son, right hand and undeniable prodigy of the late Augustus Blackmont - the greatest fighter ever to grace the ranks of the Flayed Man, was dead. The lives claimed by him were uncountable, the terror he instilled in his enemies indescribable. To those that loved and feared him, reviled and praised him, none could doubt his martial prowess and skill in leadership. In the after life, if there was such a place, he has surely joined his Lord and fallen comrades, a martyr for those who once served the Dreadfort and still live. Truly the world owes his killer eternal thanks for the hoards who have been saved from his deadly blade.

A lot of my family on my Mom's side were actually in the Nazi party, she comes from a family with noble Bohemian blood. Her dad and uncle were both non-commissioned officers in the SS who participated in the occupation of Bohemia and Moravia. I think the Nazi party is ******* horrible, but just because I don't agree with the form of government it advocates, I don't really have any moral problem with their platforms, just the fact that I hate big government.

The debt ceiling should not be raised, it perpetuates not only the cycle of frivolous spending by the government but the disgusting ******* partisan politics that our entire system of government unfortunately relies on. I absolutely support big oil, and big anything. A free market is the best market. I am a die hard Libertarian and have been voting such for the last two years.

There's certainly more practical, rewarding, and entertaining ways to gain "infamy" then what you've laid out here. You've described one particular method well - but what you advise against is in itself a way to becoming "infamous". Good guide anyway.

*The notices begin reappearing on notice boards across the Fringe* ((We're back. Recruitment In-Game only.))

Those who have reservations because of numerical superiority, there's always a way to make up for numbers in RP. This is a good idea. -
Cannabis Legalization Debate
Coaster replied to gg12gg's topic in Thales and the Fringe Roleplay Archive
legalize weed and also every other drug, outlaw government law institutions, impeach and convict obama for war crimes!! im not kidding though -
*birds are sent out* You are all denied. Thank you for your patience. ((No recruiting until 4.0 or later on we've decided except in game. Re-apply then on the new thread that will go up if you still have an interest)

I guarantee footage of massive pvp battles with 150+ players like the Battle for the Dreadfort get the server much more traffic, applicants, and garner more interest then a 2 minute "LoTC with me" video or a fly by of some town which requires no more effort then pressing f1 and flying over someones build. The Media Teams problem is not that they are human, or flawed or whatever, it's that they try to cater to the already existing playerbase instead of reaching out to new bloods on youtube with **** that will actually catch their damn attention (I.E BIG PVP BATTLES, COOL RP EVENTS [aka not ******* weddings and tavern bullshit]) idk
-
*Begins the long process of screening and picking applicants* ((As Chump said, it's been kind of slow because of IRL commitments and whatever the **** I do in my free time but we'll get to it soon when i ditch the alcoholism some time))

A Young Noble Seeks Protection!
Coaster replied to Malaise's topic in Thales and the Fringe Roleplay Archive
*A response is posted below a notice* Hire some of my men and you can get as many as you need for cheap. Some of the best fighters you'll find around and I think you'll be pleased to see they don't have those pesky morals that most men have. We've got our own equipment and training, just show the boy and we'll keep him safe.
