  10. Unless more than just two FRP threads become active, an entire sub-forum will not be created for two threads.
  11. Roleplay sub-forums reorganized and reinstated.
  12. Welcome to LotC! If you need someone to yell at or complain to, I'm your man.
  13. I said that if players have problems regarding abuse, that they should bring said concerns to me. Alan said that if we feel we should promote a certain administrator, we will promote them. We knew there was going to be backlash for Cappy's promotion, and Cappy knew it too. When you claim that the admin team is composed of liars and manipulators, that really irks me. I do not lie to the community, and I am in no way trying to manipulate any of you. A better word would have been "contradicting stances", although as I explained earlier, this is not the case.
  14. I can't even respond to this in a professional manner. The amount of personal bias in your post is unbearable.
  15. Perhaps instead of talking about it behind closed doors said players should bring their concerns to me so that I may correct my mistakes or alleged wrongdoings? Seriously, I'm not the enemy here. If you want me to change the way I do things (or in this case word things), ask away. I gave Gaius a chance by allowing him to assist with the Undead. Unfortunately for him, he dropped it after just a couple of weeks. Was the hate/workload too much for him or did he lose interest? Either way, I'm glad we didn't promote him to Lead Dev based on the results of my test. Oh, how I love posts like these. It's for this exact reason that we discredit these kinds of posts. Since I returned, I have done my best to include the players in many game-changing decisions. Look at Nexus-Regions, for example. I spent a good two weeks at the least gathering feedback and getting a feel for the playerbase's stance on it. However, before jumping the gun and removing it completely, we wanted to test the waters first with a few adjustments. I can't speak for the rest of the administration, but I have been listening to the players. I am not perfect, and I certainly make mistakes, but I am always willing to correct them and right my wrongs.
  16. "Your leadership has seen by far the most blatant GM abuse I have ever seen." I do not lead the GM team. Firespirit44 (Kai) does. I have read through the reports that have come to me. I have confronted the GM(s) in question. I have tried to validate many of the claims made against said GM(s), but nothing fully concrete has come to me other than words. Besides, said GM(s) in question decided to step out of the affiliation roleplay to avoid further complications. If anything, I took time away from my own responsibilities to investigate matters /for/ Kai. I do not run the GM team.
  17. There was nothing constructive in your post, only insults. I allow constructive criticism but nothing less. He didn't provide an opinion. He provided a passive-aggressive insult not meant to provide anything useful to the conversation. All I can say to this is that I guess it's a good thing he is under my leadership now rather than Kai's? I don't know what else to tell you.
  18. I never said he is only seen well by the GM team. In fact, I worded it very poorly. I meant to say that most GMs find that they see Cappy in a better light when they join the GM team, rather than before they may have viewed him in a different light. In case you didn't notice the hints in my post, I said that we did consider removing other admins, but we are willing to give them another chance based on our new policy.
  19. If someone punished you for that I would punish them just as quick. Most people find that they have to become a GM before they realize that Cappy isn't actually so bad.
  20. Greetings fellow community members! Today I would like to make a few announcements regarding some changes to the administration. Let me begin by stating that before this day, the admin team has been the least regulated team of all of our staff teams on LotC. I am sure it does not take a genius to come to that conclusion. However, today that changes. As Head Administrator, it is my job to ensure that if any problems arise within the administration or between administrators, then I am to step in. In the past however, inactivity has always been something that we brushed under the rug and simply ignored. We allowed inactive administrators to hold their positions on the team, as we simply assumed they would return so long as they popped in every now and then and said so. Again, today this changes. We have instated a new policy that from here on forward must be followed by each administrator within the team. This policy requires that each administrator must remain healthily active and consistently contributing to the forward movement of the server. Should an administrator be found unable to keep their activity up or simply unwilling to contribute on a meaningful scale, I will do everything in my power to reprimand said administrator for their inactivity. On the other hand, if I am found to be incapable of contributing to the server or remaining active, I too will be dealt with by the rest of the team. I won't go into details with this policy, but you simply need to know that the administration from this day forward will be composed of members who are active leaders within our community. With all of that out of the way, it's time to announce the additions and removals within the team itself. We'll start with the removal, although it's much less a removal and simply a change of position. Tythus will be moving from the administrator position to that of a managerial position relating to the upkeep and maintenance of the server. His forum title will be changed to Webmaster, although his responsibilities will be similar to that of a technician. Tythus handles server upkeep, pays the bills, and manages donation money. Between his real life responsibilities and managing the server, we felt this position was more appropriate for him, and it freed up a spot on the admin team for a new promotion. This new promotion was not one that came easily to us at first, but after further discussion and consideration, we have decided that it is time for Cappy to join the admin team. We realize that this promotion may not go over so well with some individuals in the community, but Cappy provides a logical approach to every idea we discuss, and he doesn't instantly take one side without considering the benefits and drawbacks of both sides first. It is because of his decisiveness and willingness to push the server forward by contributing to new developments that we have decided to promote Cappy to admin. Before any alarms go off, keep in mind that this admin policy doesn't just cover activity, but also proper conduct as well. Some may find that Cappy can be blunt, but so long as he is doing his job properly at the end of the day that is what we are looking for. On the other hand, if anyone has any valid concerns to share regarding any admin, they should be sent to me immediately. Some may feel that we shouldn't have stopped here with the admin team revisions, but I will come out and say that while we did consider further revisions, the change to our policy will decide whether or not we truly need to go through with them. Each administrator has reinforced that they will be active, contributing members of the team, so now only time will tell if they uphold the new policy. In lighter news, please take a moment to congratulate Cappy on his (or her!?) promotion, and even Tythus on his new position!
  21. I believe people aren't reading into the OP enough. I said that if certain sub-forums were absolutely /needed/, we would add them back. However, I will not be re-adding sub-forums within sub-forums within sub-forums, which makes the forums a maze to find anything. If Oren requires its own sub-forum because it has enough roleplay to sustain it, then so be it. However, you don't need a sub-forum that only contains locked threads for reading purposes only, as that is what the wiki is for. If you complain that people don't use the wiki, then put the information that is in the pinned threads (which are in the OP) on the wiki and I will create a re-direct forum for you. If someone needs information about a dwarven clan, then the dwarves can put that information on the wiki and, again, I will create a re-direct forum for it. We do not need to clutter the forums with sub-forums within sub-forums to categorize information, when that is what the wiki is for. I am willing to work with you guys, not against you. However, certain cleanups need to be done every now and then.
  22. The panicking brings joy to my eyes.

  23. Also, just so everyone is aware, no threads were deleted (in fact, the only threads archived were the ones in the Application Support forum). A majority of the threads were simply moved up a tier.
  24. Greetings fellow roleplayers! Today I would like to make a rather short announcement regarding some reorganizing of the forums. The forums have become a bit messy with the addition of more and more sub-forums over time, and it's time for the annual cleaning season to begin. I will outline some of the changes below in the form of screenshots (as typing out each change became rather lengthy and time-consuming). I apologize if this negatively impacts you, but the best suggestions I can give for the roleplay forum changes are this: If your sub-forum contains very little posts or activity (or only exists as a repository for information about your settlement/group), then chances are all of your threads can be merged into one mega-thread that contains all of the information that you need about your sub-race or city. The roleplay sub-forums were so categorized that even the main roleplay forums were lacking posts because they were spread so thin between the different categories. I read through some threads, and it's clear that a majority of them can be grouped under one forum. For those of you who had pinned topics in the roleplay section, here are some screenshots of which ones were pinned. However, if you want to pin a bunch of topics that were in the sub-forums, it is required that you merge them all together into one thread. For example, rather than having a sub-forum dedicated to the Laws and Regulations of the Oren Empire, simply create one Oren Empire thread that has a post within it that contains these Laws and Regulations. I apologize to the Aesterwald playerbase, as you guys were the only sub-forum I didn't screenshot (as the idea came to me afterwards). It took me about three hours to implement these changes, so please refrain from asking for this to be undone unless you want to find every thread that was in every sub-forum and reorganize them again -- which would take you days. If you would like a certain sub-forum re-created or a new one added, feel free to suggest it. However, this current setup appears fairly structured, so I'd rather not make any further radical changes unless they are supported greatly. If you want further reasoning for some of these changes, feel free to ask.
