His eyes wander along the horizon. Flat lands as far as the eye can see. “Ideal for warriors of the horse.” he murmurs. “We must divide this ocean of grass blades with the will of the mountain, Chimuquera and the gifts of Mama-Pacha. If must be, we must erect real mountains, only to protect the realms of men from the ambitions of the Khan.” He turns about, eyes now wandering to the East. Not too far, mighty mountains immediately come into his view. The Western reaches of the Chitimuqan mountains, home to his people. And his family. “Qhapaq. Chimiqua. Domaquetan. Limiqua. I count the days when I may see my children again. Who would have known it hurts one’s heart so much to be apart from those you love. Mama-Pacha, give me strength in these dark times.” The King removes the crown of gold he is wearing, laying it onto the stone tiles in front of him, before kneeling down, lowered head, facing the distant and cloud wrought mountains. “For love I have set forth, ventured out into lands unknown. Leading brave warriors, men and women alike, your children out here. For love to my people, your children, as well as my own. But perhaps also those can not fend for themselves and must be protected from the greed and merciless ambition of the few mighty ones. Please lend me your strength and guide me to the truth. Mama-Pacha, for I am only a single son of yours.” King Thonaqan would remain kneeling there quietly for another few minutes. A quiet dripping sound is heard and a small pearl of water runs down the golden crown on the side. “Rain, hm?” Thonaqan muses as he glances up to the overcast sky, rising from the ground. “Are you crying for me, Mama-Pacha?” Thonaqan can’t help but wonder, as he picks up the crown at last, as a drizzle sets in, to begin growing into a fully fledged rain. The King, with his back to the mountains returns to gazing out into the ocean of grass, unheeding of getting wet. Why would he care? He was already crying. Many kilometers to the East, Qhapaq asks his usual question. “When is Papa coming home?” Retainer Tuqua who has returned to the mountain palace at Osocchi Appachaqui from his ongoing mission to the Pachaqui basin, can’t help but smile. Qhapaq reminds him more of Thonaqan’s younger brother, Baquan, who died in an avalanche decades ago. A curious and investigative nature, but nagging with questions. The same questions, until he got a reply that was satisfactory. “Qhapaq, your father is on an adventure in the West, where he must fight against a mighty horse warrior and his men.” – “I know that. But when has he won? It has been many days, at least ten years!” – “Qhapaq, how old are you now?” – “Fi- six!” – “So, you remember him leave, yes?” – “Yes, Papa left when I was little! Many years ago!” Tuqua laughs loudly at that, just as Archpriest Solameqan enters, followed by two young acolytes, one hand on his walking staff, the other firmly grasped by the young Chimiqua. Tuqua hasn’t seen her often, but when he did recently, he came to bear witness of the gifts of Mama-Pacha that continue to manifest in her. “Tuqua, you insolent boy! Are you poisoning the mind of our prince here again?” the aging Solameqan thunders at the top of his lungs, much to the entertainment of both Chimiqua and Qhapaq. Tuqua plays along. “Yes, I shall make him scared of butterflies!” – “I am not scared of butterflies! I fear nobody but the gods, I am Qhapaq, the next Mountain King, bravest of the Chimuquera!” Qhapaq replies loudly, hopping onto the table, kicking over his cup with maracuya juice, flailing with his wooden toy sword. “Nooo! I yield, I yield!” Tuqua helplessly flails, as he falls of his chair in play. The Archpriest and the two acolytes can not help but smile, as both Qhapaq and Chimiqua climb onto Retainer Tuqua, who is now lying on the ground. “I wonder how you fare, my King. My student. Thonaqan. I hope you are safe.” Solameqan thinks to himself, as he walks to the window of the chamber, looking out to the west. In the distance there, away from the sunny capital city of the Pachaqui Kingdom, dark thunderclouds are brewing, likely with rain beginning to fall. “Are you crying Mama-Pacha?” the old man asks. A heavy grunt leaves Theaqui as her warclub smashes into the steadfast shield of one of her Mountain Lion Warriors. The man holds steady, barely even flinching under the brutal strike of her. This training is a change of pace in between, as the horse warriors have yet to engage in battle proper. Theaqui withdraws and prepares another strike, her mind however wandering elsewhere. She feels unwelcome, among the ranks of the ironclad Mitrovic men, they themselves having mocked her and the Chimuqueran men and women. “We are different than them. Not even a word of appreciation in these long days of marching North and South and back and forth and being harrassed by skirmishers.” she thinks to herself, as she parries the counterattack of her opponent. “The King has sent me, I should lead by example, but being belittled by these men is almost unbearable. They think women are inferior to them, just like the old coots at home. I have changed that view in the Kingdom and I shall change it for the Mitrovic men as well. We are strong and that does not depend on whether we have balls or not.” She roars as she dives under a swing of the warrior in front of her, before going for a legsweep from her lowered stance, knocking the man onto his back. Before he can react, her warclub thunders two inches deep into the ground next to his head. “I win. But you fought well, Rohmaq. You should be wary of your legwork more.” As she helps him up, drops of water begin to roll down her outstretched arm. Theaqui looks up, the wrinkles at the corner of her eyes and mouth strained. “Are you crying for us, Mama-Pacha?” Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-18,000 Quti for 4 farms) Retainer Tuqua returns to Osocchi Appachaqui, the city of the skies, along with his followers. As Chanimaquan is left in capable hands of a local chieftain, his focus turns onto more pressing matters, such as the increased recruitment of troops for the armed forces of the Pachaqui Kingdom. With additional steel coming in from abroad, it should be easier to arm more men at once, whilst still supplying the ongoing fortification effort in the West: 3,000 Regular T3 Plumed Archers (-6 AP, -36,000 Quti) 3,000 Regular T3 Warriors (-6 AP, -48,000 Quti) 1,500 Regular T3 Light Cavalry (-0 AP, -19,500 Quti) 1 Keep and 1 Castle (-7 AP, -26,000 Quti) to be built in the West. Two singular civilian district are constructed in Chanimaquan to support the growing population of the city with additional jobs, as well as offer new opportunities for business ventures. (-13,500 Quti for 2 CDs) Slowly coming of age, a whole 5,000 Quti are allocated to the education and training of both Qhapaq and Chimiqua. The first is meant to become the next King after all, the latter is important because of the gifts have begun to manifest more and more, day by day. (-5,000 Quti for ADDITIONAL education of both Prince Qhapaq and Princess Chimiqua; MOD) The remaining Quti, rectangular chips of gold are being stored in the treasury of Osocchi Appachaqui, in order to save it for the coming year, where coin might become much more needed. (-150 Quti) The summoning and hurling of boulders becomes the next objective for the acolytes and clergy of the Kingdom. Thus far, the ones with the gifts of Mama-Pacha had little methods of ranged abilities, something Archpriest Solameqan agreed with the Warmistress to pursue, as need might very well arise. Naturally, the skill and focus invested into the spell should determine the size and velocity of the earthen object. (Passive, started 880, due 883) Past Studies: The next spell is to be named Bindings of the Sand. A spell that should be capable of rooting a person with magic sands to a location, hindering his ability to move, speak or perform magic altogether. In a sense they imagine it to be required if they ever have to seal something away that can not be killed by normal means. (Started 876; due in 880 as T2; now concluded) Rapid winds can cause duststorms. But instead of relying on winds with the power of will grains of sand might be moved with a lack of them. A magical sandstorm is the goal of the new magical pursuits of the Archpriest, something to conceal movement or hinder enemy advances. (Passive, started 872, due in 874 as T1; concluded) Urged on by the King’s request (and of course the funding that comes along with it), the blacksmiths and artisans of the Pachaqui Kingdom continue in developing the right arms and armor for the coming Mountain Lion Warriors. (-45,000 Quti & 10 AP for Heavy Infantry; 15,000 Quti last year; now concluded) As the impaling spikes spell is concluded the next project for the priests of the Chimuquera is to elaborate on a spell that may mend cracks and damages in stone, as well as reinforce it against impacts and further damage through tremors, impacts and other less mundane means. Reinforce Stone and Earth shall it be named. (Passive, started 868, due in 872 as T2; now concluded) In the meantime, the Archpriest Solameqan orders the exploration of the gifts of Mama-Pacha, the powers she has bestowed upon the Chimuquera. The subject shall be the rapid formation of rock spikes out of the ground in a straight line from the caster, to impale approaching enemies. Whilst it seems cruel, it is essential that the Chimuqueran people have the means to protect themselves properly. (Passive study, year 4, due 868; now concluded)

Whilst the Khan has not been beaten on the battlefield or anything, they have to take steps to ensure that the groundwork for their ambitious plan was present. A massive investment on behalf of the Chimuquera, erecting further fortifications, deeper into the West. He is uneasy, as he could not be home to be with his newborn daughter Limiqua, nor watch his other children grow in talent and strength. And beauty, for Chimiqua, he chuckles quietly. All the while back at Osocchi Appachaqui, Archpriest Solameqan continues his tutorship of the young Chimiqua directly, whereas her brothers Qhapaq and Domaquetan have come under tutorship of various wise men and mighty warriors of the Chimuquera. Queen Monaqueta made these arrangements. Perhaps she is a bit traditional in these manners, with her boys being trained as leaders and warriors. But Chimiqua is special and the King gave tutorship to his old mentor and friend the Archpriest. As loyalty runs deep and stays, no matter how far apart, Retainer Tuqua is elsewhere, working steadily in the name of the King. Naturally though, being apart from his best friend for so long isn’t doing him much good, as Tuqua is concerned for his well being. The Pachaqui basin south of the Chitimuqan Mountains has yet to be fully conquered, its potential yet to be reached, truly. And thus he continues on. Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-18,000 Quti for 4 farms) In a massive effort, under the King’s personal watch, the second army in support, the Kingdom erects another three full castles at a critical region for the Chimuqueran people. The strategic value can not be overstated in the opinion of many. Not only as protection for the Chimuquera, but perhaps even realms beyond, Antramar, Kastovia and Ardes. (-14 AP, -52,000 Quti for 2 CASTLES and 2 KEEPS) Under the leadership of Tuqua, the city of Chanimaquan at the Dnedic coast receives a new trade district, as well as depots to accomodate the new merchants travelling in from abroad, both from the South and the North. The Pachaqui Kingdom should become a safe transit zone for a journey between the royal midlands and the unknown southern territories beyond Ak. The seas, after all, were quite treacherous. (-18,000 Quti for 1 trade depot and 1 trade district) Also a singular civilian district is constructed in Chanimaquan to increase the economic output of the nation. (-6,750 Quti for 1 CDs) In order to supplement the arcane prowess of the realm, ever since the news from the Mitrovic Empire came in that the Khan’s spellcaster were quite formidable, Archpriest Solameqan trains new talented people with the gifts of Mama-Pacha, to defend the realm, the people and perhaps even the world from war and brutality. (-100,000 Quti for 2 Adepts and 2 Mages) The remaining Quti, rectangular chips of gold are being stored in the treasury of Osocchi Appachaqui, in order to save it for the coming year, where coin might become much more needed. (-2,050 Quti) The summoning and hurling of boulders becomes the next objective for the acolytes and clergy of the Kingdom. The inactivity from the Khan might indicate either a preparation for an incursion, or that he did not care. It might even be a wholly different maneuver. King Thonaqan stands at the massive circular stonetable in the rarely used room of conflict in the palace, Retainer Tuqua with him, as well as a dozen of nobles and mighty warriors of the Pachaqui Kingdom. It is a mundane matter, and Archpriest Solameqan had different duties to attend to, so he was not present. “We should try to fortify the stretches of land in the west, by the river and the hills, to remove the possibility for an incursion from the Khan and his riders. I think it would suffice if we deter him, as our first army has joined the Mitrovic Empire to carry the fight into the Khanate.” – “Noted.” replies Thonaqan to the warrior who just spoke. Tuqua chimes in: “I am uneasy about this whole ordeal. Usually not a pessimist, but what if the Warmistress fails? We need to weigh our options.” Thonaqan nods, as he gazes at the map in front of him. No reaction from the Khanate. A feeling begins to crawl over him... was it paranoia? “My king, we could attempt a separate push into their lands.” – “No, no, no. We will be slaughtered on the open fields. We have nothing to gain by marching in this early. The Mitrovic Empire needs to win the decisive battles, then we can advance together with them.” – “But outflanking them? Cutting off their route of escape?” – “First we need to know that the Khan is up North.” the nobles and warriors continue to argue. Thonaqan however paid little attention to them, his mind travelling miles upon miles, over mountains, hills and plains, passing by rivers and forests. “Paranoid. I am getting really paranoid about this.”, he thinks to himself. His mind halts as his gaze meets a certain point on the map. A weak smile enters Thonaqan’s stern face. “I have made a decision. Listen up.” Archpriest Solameqan can not help but be fascinated as he sits in the garden of the stone palace of the Pachaqui Kingdom, together with Queen Monaqueta and the royal children. Qhapaq is piling up rocks, repeatedly, laughing with glee as his younger sister Chimiqua keeps toppling the pile. By merely looking at it, so it seems. It is ominous that the gifts of Mama-Pacha would manifest so clearly and intensely in a child, the aging Archpriest thinks to himself, for once not being distracted by the drums of war, down in the city, as more men and women gear up, joining the newest train of supplies and materials to the West. It was a big change, but the King made a call and the Chimuquera are loyal to King Thonaqan, for he is acting in their interest only. He lives for his people and thus he has earned their undying loyalty and love. Perhaps this love will spill into the descendants of Thonaqan as well, from the rowdy Qhapaq to the quiet Domaquetan who is idly watching the whole ordeal sitting on his mother’s lap. Just recently the entourage from the Samalstraza has arrived, naturally to be housed in the palace itself, as guests of the King. Perhaps they have more input to the gifts that Chimiqua shows. And hopefully they bring no disagreements with them. Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-36,000 Quti for 8 farms) In a massive effort, under the King’s personal watch, the second army in support, the Kingdom erects three full castles at a critical region for the Chimuqueran people. The strategic value can not be overstated in the opinion of many. Not only as protection for the Chimuquera, but perhaps even realms beyond, Antramar, Kastovia and Ardes. (-15 AP, -54,000 Quti for 3 CASTLES) In order to supplement the second army with more mobile units, three companies of Light Cavalry are recruited. For scouting, minor skirmishing, but also as a tool to forewarn the Chimuqueran soldiers in case of an attack. (-19,500 Quti for 1,500 T3 Regular Light Cavalry) The only recently established town of Chanimaquan at the Dnedic coast receives vast supplies and workers to expand beyond its borders and to turn it into a fully fledged city at that. That should reaffirm the promise of King Thonaqan to enrich the Pachaqui basin and bring wealth to all its inhabitants and people, Chimuquera or not. (-31,500 Quti for 1 City) Three civilian districts are constructed in other cities to increase the economic output of the nation. (-20,250 Quti for 3 CDs) The remaining Quti, rectangular chips of gold are being stored in the treasury of Osocchi Appachaqui, in order to save it for the coming year, where coin might become much more needed. (-2,200 Quti) The summoning and hurling of boulders becomes the next objective for the acolytes and clergy of the Kingdom. (Passive, started 880) Past Studies: The next spell is to be named Bindings of the Sand.

You did well.” Thonaqan replies, before sighing slighty, leaning back into the depth of his earthen throne. He hated making such decisions. But in light of the proclamation and in due consideration of future threats that may arise, Thonaqan came to a decision rather quickly. “Call the Warmistress. I have need of her.” In the coming days a wind of change was blowing from the seat of rulership in Osocchi Appachaqui, the city of the skies. The whole Chitimuqan mountains would feel it, its denizens feeling a change in atmosphere. A new era is about to dawn. An era of war. All over the Kingdom, men and women on leave were called upon, those who had minor patrol and peacekeeping assignments were recalled to their respective barracks, informed and given marching orders. Merely a month after Tuqua’s return, a force of 4,000 warriors, 5,000 Plumed archers, 1,000 Mountain Lion Warriors and five adepts were on the march to the Mitrovic Empire. This is happening due to an agreement between the Emperor and King. The force is under leadership of the Warmistress herself. At the same time, with a slight delay of a week, a message is given to the Khan and his people. The King has issued a formal declaration of war, in sight of the looming threat of the Khanate and his plans to invade the “mud” people, regardless if the Chimuquera were targetted or not, the stability in the region was at stake, and that is something King Thonaqan could not abide, because a lack of stability invites rogues and bandits who in turn will threaten peace and prosperity as well. A second consisting of the remainder of the Chimuquera soldiers is sent west to the hills and riverbanks in order to preemptively prepare themselves for a possible incursion from the Khanate, seeing as they were now officially at war. Any merchants from the Khanate are respectfully turned away, noting that at the current time, with their current leadership trade is not possible. At home, the armament proceeds at an accelerated pace. After due discussion amongst the higher echelons of the Pachaqui Kingdom, heeding the due advice of the Warmistress, King Thonaqan has ordered the massive expansion of the military capabilities. Forges and mines are being erected, hundreds upon hundreds of soldiers are being trained anew, and even Archpriest Solameqan has focused on training more adepts in the art of spell warfare. But this was only one of his concerns. Something that Solameqan had noticed, as well as the King himself of course, were the signs that showed themselves for Chimiqua, the princess. The very Earth appears to come in harmony with her, when she crawled and curled around, later walked about the palace grounds. Thonaqan, not so much a man of faith or understanding of the gifts of Mama-Pacha assigns Archpriest Solameqan as her mentor and guardian to be. However, against Solameqan’s wishes, he also sends a missive to the Samalstraza, to the guildmaster of the elemental halls. Perhaps they are willing to share possible insights into this phenomena. All these events overshadow the birth of the third child of King Thonaqan, Prince Domaquetan, a calm child, much like his sister, and a bit of the opposite of how Qhapaq has been at birth, who, with his rowdy attitude seems to have the making of a warrior, as per many of the older nobles’ predictions. (-40,000 Quti for 4 adepts) Finally, a singular Civilian Crafting district is established with the remaining funds. (-6750 Quti for one Civilian District) A missive with a formal declaration of war is sent to the Khan. Before that however a substantial force is marched to the Mitrovic Empire to join forces with them as agreed. Simultaneously, a second army is sent to the rivers and hills west of the Kingdom, halfway to the Khanate to prepare for possible incursions. Archpriest Solameqan investigates further into the signs for Princess Chimiqua, keeping close watch of her at all times as she continues to grow up. Her birth brings much joy to the royal family and household, but also the many people from all social standings, Chimuquera rejoice when they hear the news and name. “Chimiqua, Chimiqua, Sapphire of Mama-Pacha, you are the blessing, the sign we have been waiting for so long!” The omens have shown that Mama-Pacha herself has blessed this girl, the Archpriest conducting the full set of Earthen blessings onto the child, which quietly observed throughout them, just to release a giggle of joy when Archpriest Solameqan lined her forehead with the blue of Lapis Lazuli and handed her a holy sapphire from the Pachaqui Temple mountain. Mind you, the full Earthen blessings ceremony lasts for five hours and Chimiqua did not cry a single time, unlike her brother before her who was rather unruly. Prince Qhapaq spent his first year of life on Earth climbing all furniture, walls and rocks Mama-Pacha had to offer. Already nimble for his age of two years, but still clumsy and far from showing any potential or gifts in that regard. Celebrating her 40th birthday, the Warmistress Theaqui organizes an event for warrior combat, both men and women alike from all throughout the Kingdom are in attendance. Surprisingly to many, she appears to have a daughter and a son, something even King Thonaqan did not know. Apparently she wed one of the Chieftains who joined the Chimuquera down in the basin. Regardless, it is a special day and that is nothing to be missed, as Theaqui continues to be as powerful as five of her mountain lion warriors combined! Despite the festivities and how busy everyone is, one man still finds time to quietly hone the gifts given by Mama-Pacha to him and his adepts. Archpriest Solameqan remains vigilant as he awaits the sign from his deity to appoint the right successor. The years continue to trickle on and the choice he intends to make, must be the right one and the only one. There can only ever be one Archpriest to guide the Chimuquera on their path through the times, towards the goal of continued peace and prosperity. However, the expenditures would not go toward soldiers, but rather artillery and siege weaponry. Surprisingly so. Plumed ballista and scorpions. Heh. The birth of Qhapaq, the first son of Thonaqan Micchuqui has brought fresh wind into the Pachaqui Kingdom, as well as new spirit to the earlier distraught leadership. Considering, whilst not as notable as her older sister Warmistress Theaqui, the death of Chimiqua Suppucchi, known as the Sparrow, in a pointless and brutal event called the Ring of Blood has drained on the morale of the nobles, as she was known to be a bright and inspiring presence. Theaqui, whilst fuming at first, has come to accept it grudingly, noting that it was her sister’s decision to partake in something so pointless, just to see “how the world outside of our mountains is”. Retainer Tuqua returned somewhat emptyhanded to King Thonaqan this year, as his attempts returned promises and no actions. Thonaqan, oddly at ease now, having lost much of the stress he was under in the past few years, literally waves off and thanks his loyal friend for his years of service so far. He has done an outstanding job at proceeding in a peaceful manner for the expansion of the Pachaqui Kingdom and the enrichment of the Chimuquera people. Peace and prosperity, the two goals the Kingdom is always steering towards. Archpriest Solameqan continues his ventures as advisor, but has become notably invested in the arcane studies of the gifts of Mama-Pacha. Training more able mages and adepts. In secret he has been looking for a successor however, as he notes that the years are coming where he might not be the sharpest or quickest tool anymore. So far nobody has shown up who would be notable enough or who has the potential to become the next Archpriest, despite the obvious efforts of many of the Acolytes and Priests of the Pachaqui Kingdom to please King, Archpriest and Country. The new Mountain Lion Warriors, the finest and best equipped soldiers the Chimuquera have to show, are the new pride of the Warmistress, but as Theaqui usually is, she relentlessly drills and trains the men and women, knowing there is always room for growth, potential to increase their skills. She herself has not let go of the dream of being the strongest warrior of them all, despite the original misconceptions many of the nobles and leaders of the Chimuquera had. In the end they have grown to accept the hot tempered and strict leader of the armed forces of the Pachaqui Kingdom. Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-27,000 Quti for 4 farms) Following the support of the local leaders, Retainer Tuqua ventures forth with the greatest expansion for the Pachaqui Kingdom to date. Five new keeps are to be built on the frontier to increase the control of the Chimuquera on the newly populated lands to the South. (-10 AP; -40,000 Quti for 5 Keeps. (Passive, started 868, due in 872 as T2; now concluded) In the meantime, the Archpriest Solameqan orders the exploration of the gifts of Mama-Pacha, the powers she has bestowed upon the Chimuquera. King Thonaqan Micchuqui, recently turned 33, has finally married. The fortunate one is the daughter of a Chimuquera noble who has been a longtime supporter of the Micchuqui family. Solameqan the Archpriest conducted the ceremony in Osocchi Appachaqui, in the Grand Temple of the city. Personally he was relieved that the King, last of his lineage, found a partner and should now be capable of continuing and restoring the Micchuqui family, a clan that was one of the founding members of the Chimuquera and the Pachaqui Kingdom. Elsewhere, the Warmistress Theaqui has left with her sister Chimiqua to the North to observe Chimiqua partaking in the Ring of Blood tournament. Curious what this may result in, the King allowed it and did not comment any further as he was busy with his wedding. In the South, expansion goes as planned, with Retainer Tuqua Richiqui continuing to fortify the presence of the Chimuquera there, once again calling for a meeting for any nearby leaders and chieftains to offer them to join the Chimuquera as equals. Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-0 Quti for 0 farms) Retainer Tuqua Richiqui is travelling the basin South of the Chiquimutan Mountains again, in order to establish contact with chieftains and leaders again. He wishes to offer the willing the protection of King Thonaqan Micchuqui of the Pachaqui Kingdom. They would become equals to the people of the Kingdom, together as Chimuquera, the children of Mama-Pacha. (Mod) On behest of the Warmistress, even during her absence, the training and equipment commences for the Mountain Lion Warriors, the new force that shall be the strong core of the Kingdom’s army. Many resources have been poured into this project and the results are not just for show (hopefully). (Passive, started 868, due in 872 as T2; now concluded) In the meantime, the Archpriest Solameqan orders the exploration of the gifts of Mama-Pacha, the powers she has bestowed upon the Chimuquera. 10. Turn 11 Year 2211 Quiet. Very quiet. Tjieran Unitary State Albeit there is nobody showing up from the foreign vessels, the exploration ships do actually manage to find a sector where they have some presence. Mining corporations and civilian vessels go about their daily routine, as the Tjieran Exploration ships show up. No hails are being exchanged, the Tjieran ships mostly ignored. A little while later, a couple of destroyers show up and warn the Tjieran ships off by target locking, but nothing else happens. Thanks to the substantial investment, the Tjieran Research Division is glad to report that they might be able to finish the Fusion Engines by 2212. That should bring new wind into the sails of their ships, both army and civilian. Or more oomph into their engines. UNITED FEDERATION OF SKELLAR SYSTEMS The Holy Adaptaar Commonality, after a year of defeats does now formally request assistance of the Skellar and Libellans both. They are hardpressed for material and currency, as the metal exports have ceased, but they hope they can repay any potential debts in the future. On the research front no particular news, with the Battleship Hull design coming a year earlier, as well as the Fusion Reactor technology reaching completion approximately two years earlier. It is eerily quiet. Oddly enough, an unannounced visit from a ship belonging to a never before heard from faction appears in the Skellar home system. A simple freighter, quite clean actually, has a very hairy captain (going by visual data he is transmitting), who is intent to make deals. Whilst aggressively spamming ads on a broad range of radio frequencies he keeps rambling about that he has the best deals. He got deals alright? And the wants to make deals with the Skellar, who, he apparently understands completely fine, and whose primary language he apparently speaks fluently. Odd fellow. He got deals, you know. The Republic of Galaron The exploration vessel, albeit cataloguing and archiving all the systems in those sectors find very little that would be noteworthy in terms of resources. However, they have found quite a few habitable worlds with various degrees of flora and fauna, one of the world even inhabitated by dinosaurs, giant reptilians that once roamed the homeworld of the Galaron as well, until an ice age caused them to go extinct, due to the scarcity of plants to eat. The engineering department examines the possibility of designing and testing a shipclass that would classify as something of a Heavy Cruiser and returns with the notion that they’d need roughly twenty years to complete such a feat. The specifications of a ship in that size are naturally on a whole new level and a lot of the groundwork for spaceships needs to be redone. On a lighter note, they are glad to report back that the gravity plates are fully functional and already civilian companies have begun massproducing them to distribute them on all crafts available. That should easen up things. Zyrka Republic Given how extensive the list of projects being conducted is and how many kilograms of paper the Republic burns on technology reports alone, a chief science officer of the research department of the nation simply states following: Project 1, three years earlier. Project 2, three years earlier. Project 3, six years. Project 4, six years. Project 5, five years. Project 6, thirteen years. The anti corruption campaign just trails off into nothingness. Without funds to pay the inspectors to find and fight the corrupted ones, how does that work? In fact it might even be likely the investigation teams were corrupted themselves, paid with corrupt money, since they were not paid with clean money to find the corrupt money. This is so complicated. Sol Empire Following the destruction caused by the Ascardian invaders, all forces of the Empire are united in their pursuit of strengthening it. They are thoroughly analyzing all data gathered, trying to crack the encryption of the Ascardian ships, trying to learn their language too and so on and so on. The engineers and scientists report back that they will have a ready and capable Light Cruiser design in three years at the soonest. They are pulling all strings, examined the Support Carrier inch by inch, analyzed all data and continued to utilize all currency and resources available to them. The genetic makeup of Ascardians is shockingly similar to Humans. Albeit some differences in their genes, the chromosome count matches, many markers are so closely related, without knowing they are from two different species, one would not guess they were. This brings up the question to more than a handful of biologists, are Humans and Ascardians different species in the first place? How did man come to be? Was he brought here by someone else? Was life, specifically Human life seeded on Earth by a higher power?

Inform the warmistress.” – “Yes, my liege.” An outside observer might be confused by the words exchanged, but there was meaning behind them. Thonaqan, now 31 years old has grown increasingly worried. Something is bugging him, there is an uneasy feeling in his mind and soul, a feeling that might not just go away on its own without proper reassurance. And exactly that is what he is pursuing now. Reassurance. Reassurance that his people are safe. The Kingdom has prospered thus far, in the past years, but then again, things might change and Thonaqan is unwilling to be complacent and unprepared for what may come. Politically speaking, the conflict in the West made him break ties with the Ishikawa Shogunate that has shown to be a mere aggressor and opportunist. On one hand he understands that the wild pursuit of pure power is tempting and perhaps one way to safeguard the interests of your own people, but on the other he despised egoists. King Thonaqan wishes to tread carefully. Do what must be done, but also allow for negotiation, to find ways that mutually benefit. He himself saw not a lot of benefit from the Ishikawan merchants, or the now defunct Crimson Order. Merely the Mitrovic Empire was at least honest in its dealings, albeit perhaps a bit aggressive. Still, he convinced himself, one that might be true to his word. In the past weeks the Kingdom has undergone a bit of a change for its armed forces. Thonaqan wishes to strengthen the realm and as such, he has aggressively allocated spending into projects of war. The reports of the armies that have been mobilized and utilized during the recent conflicts, as well as in the distant Orev concerned him. Given how some realms sailed half around the world to invade another for shady backhand deals does not ease his mind either. Reassurance, he seeks reassurance. Offers withdrawn, left without a word or note to reason why. Well, the reason has become clear later on, yes, but nontheless, the young King felt insulted. He has turned thirty just recently, briefly before his return to the Kingdom, after the most inspiring and interesting journey South to the Grand Empire of Ak, where he, albeit being considered not important enough for the Emperor to see him, learned a lot about their past and culture. They were not too different, but apparently a people who preferred to be left alone. Something he would certainly follow up on. “Bring me the warmistress.” he orders one of the present retainers. “I have need of her opinion.” Days later, the Kingdom proceeds with substantial investments into its military production, many new mines and heavy manufacturing districts cropping up all over the cities, to bolster the capacity for army recruitment. Whilst not necessarily preparing for a war, Thonaqan was wary of the political maneuvering that happened recently, to the West mostly, with Mitrovic, the Crimson Order, now the shifting of powers in the Khanate. The Chimuquera might be threatened soon, and he wanted to be ready. This time, no bird was singing in the window, but only briefly a mountain falcon showed up, holding a mouse in his talons, squirming but unable to free itself. A quiet glance and it flies off again, leaving the busy throneroom behind. (-3,100 Quti) Rapid winds can cause duststorms. But instead of relying on winds with the power of will grains of sand might be moved with a lack of them. A magical sandstorm is the goal of the new magical pursuits of the Archpriest, something to conceal movement or hinder enemy advances. (Passive, started 872) Past Magic Studies: As the impaling spikes spell is concluded the next project for the priests of the Chimuquera is to elaborate on a spell that may mend cracks and damages in stone, as well as reinforce it against impacts and further damage through tremors, impacts and other less mundane means.
  14. Turn 10 Year 2210 The first embers have grown into flames. War rages between two of the nations of this galaxy, soon to be followed by others. Tjieran Unitary State Unfortunately the exploration vessels find only vast emptiness to the West, “unowned” solar systems, in one of the systems a group of space animals are found merely grazing on the dustcloud around the young protostar. However, reports come in that civilian ships have encountered foreign vessels that scanned them and withdrew moments later. After analyzing the images and signatures they are certain they belong to the same race whose freighter the Tjierans have found crashed on a planetoid. At the same time, a different ship, exploration class has been discovered surveying one of the systems that lie on the very fringe of Tjieran territory. They have not reacted to detection, but send a triple beep signal as some kind of acknowledgement (so it appears), before they proceeded on with what they were doing. The civilian vessels that met them, reported it back to government and then proceeded about their business. Groukoxxot Clan Almost insane riches lie waiting buried in the vast facilities of the relic planet. The Clan has found more things than ever before. (+50,000 C and 25 M) On a different note, one of the Clan’s destroyers single-handedly disabled and apprehended the crew of a foreign vessel. The species they captured is a rather strange one. Barely half the height of an Alduu’uuranean, with four legs, two little arms and black button eyes these little bugs don’t speak but chirp and gurgle. Where they come from is unclear. The clan captain ordered the destruction of the exploration vessel after they have robbed it everything. UNITED FEDERATION OF SKELLAR SYSTEMS The unveiling of this new material has certainly sparked the interest of the Forgemasters all throughout the Skellar domain. With a fresh eagerness the old masters as well as the young apprentices begin to study the samples brought home, experiment on them, trying to figure this new metal out, to get the hang of it, to get to know it as if it was part of them. Such is the way of the forgemasters! (You may expect results in 3 years.) The engineering team for the battleship construction report back that they were able to fix an important error in one of the stress calculations for the hull, which allowed them to proceed on schedule again. The teamleader states that this has saved them some time for future topics in the research, allowing it to be finished about a year earlier. The Fusion reactor scientists are happy to announce as well that they managed to improve the timing on the reaction triggers to such a substantial degree that they do not have to touch this topic again and can consider it as concluded. Therefore they will be done two years earlier! Reports come in that the Holy Adaptaar Commonality has come under attack from a foreign nation. A species of strange bird people has shown open aggression against them, raiding and destroying several civilian outposts. Sol Empire Project 2 is concluded. The Ascardians are unresponsive to hailing attempts thus far. Whereever they show up, they ignore hails and proceed about their raiding and destruction as usual. The exploration vessels on the other hand are able to proceed with their mission without interference. However they bring little results, there is little out of the ordinary to be found in the immediate sectors Northeast. The fortifications certainly have caused the Ascardians to shy away from said sector, as apparently a few corvettes have been spotted briefly, before withdrawing again. It appears they have shifted their focus elsewhere now. The Republic of Galaron As opposed to last year, the exploration vessels return with nothing out of the ordinary. Common stellar formations and planet systems in the surveyed sectors. Asteroid belts rich in minerals, gas giants rich in usable reactor fuel. An odd ship shows up at the doorstep of their capital completely unannounced one day this year. Mostly unarmed, no shields active and looking almost derelict, the freighter class ship hails the orbital space station around the Galaron homeworld. After some static, some garbled fragments of words, where the station operators replied with only confused words of their own, the image stabilizes and shows an awful looking being, who however appears to speak fluently in the language of the Galaron. He calls himself Tokizob, an intergalactic trader who just happened to pick up on the radio signatures of the Republic and followed them here. He is interested in buying some fuel, willing to offer wares, if Republic has coin. The Ymorian Collective They return a tad bit earlier than planned, reporting of a civilization that barred them entry into a wide range of sectors, turning them back by firing warning shots. Looks like an unruly neighbour up there. The science teams, after a brief vacation, return to their posts and get split up into the best workgroups ever! This is a hefty task to start out with again, but they do it for the Ymorian Collective! 19, 8, 9 and 10 years for the projects in this order. Those are their estimates. Zyrka Republic Both nations are happy to come to an official trade agreement, they themselves having taken measures to surpress such illegal (albeit harmless) trading activities of their civilian sectors amongst eachother. Needless to say, communication between the Ceri and Backhatta are established on short notice as well after going through the mutual contacts in the Zyrka Republic and a new wind of prosperity has arrived. (2 trade agreements for you and as a cherry on top, 25,000 C) All projects reach conclusion with the substantial boost in funding, the corruption still being a lingering topic, despite the government taking steps to cut it out of the body of the state. The new projects are due in eleven and nine years respectively.

But on and around them, on tall peaks and deep valleys, the Chimuquera prospered and will continue to prosper. A people native and used to the high altitudes they were always in pursuit of bettering the world for them, to not squander the gift of life and ingenuity that Mama-Pacha has given them. Terrace farms, aqueducts, mountain roads, tunnels through solid rock where passage around or over would be too difficult or even impossible. Just minor achievements under the everlasting gaze of Papa-Inti. Archpriest Solameqan sits quietly outside the massive stone palace on one of the terraces looking out, to the bustling city below and then beyond. What could be at the edge of the horizon? The King was South, to his back, but he did not turn around to look after his former pupil who has outgrown his tutelage years ago, no. He was watching the back of the King and held his post until he returned. For this past year and perhaps even the next he must lead the Chimuquera, be wise and just in the decisions to make, but continue the path of progress and prosperity that young Thonaqan is pursuing. “Young, heh. Twentynine and still not married. An heir must be born soon or his holy lineage of the Micchuqui the founding fathers of the Chimuquera might extinguish. Forever.” the Archpriest Solameqan ponders. Earlier he received the delegations from both the Crimson Order and the Mitrovic Empire, both seeking the favor of the king, offering the hands of princesses. “Certainly suitable for the King. But nobody could tell what Thonaqan is thinking. Perhaps Tuqua could, but he left along with his friend.” The Archpriest thinks. “And I am sitting here, getting older and growing moss.” – “Master Archpriest?” a young voice behind him proclaimed. It was Monopi Loyoqu, one of the acolytes under his tutelage. He has shown promise in mastering the gifts of Mama-Pacha and that is why Solameqan has chosen him. “Yes son?” – “Our training was due to start an hour ago, Master Archpriest.” – “Already an hour late? I am getting forgetful... well, we must not dawdle. Let us begin at once, to the temple courtyard!” Solameqan exclaims and springs up from the stone bench he has been sitting on. Youth was still left in him, so why not use it once in a while? In the distance a bird was watching, chirping its happy tune. Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-27,000 Quti for 6 farms) As per decree of the Archpriest, two new settlements are established. One to the East where new holdfasts were built just years earlier, the other straight North at the coast, with the goal in mind to turn it into a prosperous trade city for the Kingdom, where merchants from overseas may dock before heading further inland. (-27,000 Quti for 2 Towns) The newly established city in the South, Mataqachi receives its own merchant district and trade depot for in and outgoing commerce. Along with it come two new Civilian Districts to house local craftsmen and other peaceful enterprise. (-18,000 Quti for a tradedepot and a Commercial District & -13,500 Quti for 2 Civilian Districts) To ascertain the safety of the settlement at the Northern coast, a new Keep is order for construction nearby as well. Whilst there are sufficient soldiers sent along, a more permanent military presence might be most convenient. (-2 AP & 8,000 Quti for 1 Keep) The Kingdom of Pachaqui, in the name of King Thonaqan Micchuqui, sends out missives to the surrounding realms, specifically to Antramar, Kastovia, Aldemaric League, Tomuk Oburakai, Ardes, Ishikawa, Crimson Order, Mitrovic Empire and Krolestwo. The missive inquires and invites regarding the potential of a marriage of a suitable princess to the King, who is still unwed to this day. Negotiations may take place in regards to this. 16. Turn 9 Year 2209 First blood has been spilled between the nations of the stars. Ideologies and interests are clashing, with the notion of establishing dominance over the other. How far will they go to succeed in their pursuits? Tjieran Unitary State Massive armament in the Tjieran Unitary State. This new discovery might prove to be a threat. It is wise to prepare for the worst, that is the common opinion in the nation. The exploration vessels venture forth, staying in contact with home. They haven’t encountered any foreign vessels or structures that would match the signature or design of the wreckage found earlier. Sol Empire The investment unfortunately does not bring any acceleration to the research project. Whilst it certainly has helped to cover potential shortcomings in revisit knowledge thus far attained, it does not cut into the time required to properly finish the project. The foreign species is duly tended to and taken care of. The interrogation bring first results rather quickly. They call themselves Ascardians, who themselves are mildly surprised that the species that has taken them hostage does look quite similar to them, albeit a few missing features. They live in a very stratified society with an “ultimate” leader they call the Princip, with the nation itself being called Ascardian Principate. More information has not been possible to be extracted from them. The exploration ships report back no findings of note in terms of resources. A herd of corvette sized spaceborn entities are detected though, upon approach they seem docile. What made them stand out are their huge number. About three hundred of them in that group, in various stages, roaming solar systems feeding off stellar dust, solar winds and gas clouds. UNITED FEDERATION OF SKELLAR SYSTEMS The scientists report with glee that they have mastered artificial gravity! The plates are operational and produce a comfortable 1G in all possible enviroments where applied. Being small self sufficient systems they should operate for prolonged periods of time even when a ship has suffered a system breakdown. The battleship teams report back that they were able to achieve a breakthrough in the sheering force mechanic for FTL travel on the planned battleship hulls, allowing to finish the project a year earlier. The newly established research team for the Fusion Reactors estimates their project will finish in roughly nine years. The exploration vessels report back that their sensors have picked up extremely high matter concentrations on a rocky planet in said sector. It appears to hold vast amounts of a dark metal that shows to have extremely high density and structural hardness upon testing a few raw ore veins with an impactor. Might be interesting for the forgemasters at home? The Republic of Galaron With the massive boost in funding, the project for the forcefield technology should be concluded by next year! That might prove very beneficial to all ventures out into the cold void and granting space stations additional protection against meteors and the like. The newly started project for the upgraded plasma weaponry is due in about nine years, going by the scientists. The three exploration vessels bring back news of a star system holding a belt of asteroids with almost undetectable rocks. Specifically, they are covered in crystal formations where a light blue crystal dominates the surfaces of the asteroids, deflecting most direct scanning methods. (Southwestern sector, red area) Zyrka Republic The report from the science division of the Republic is rather short, given the length of the events that transpired during the massive corruption incident that happened due to the extreme amount of funding that happened. Project 1 to 3 are all completed, the fully detailed research result is available upon request. Project 4 and 6 are due within the next three years, and Project 5 is due to be concluded next year. That is quite an achievement, but given the fact that the Republic is not doing anything else with the excess budget that is currently procured thanks to the healthy and growing economy of the nation, it’s not too surprising. Disregarding the simple lack of reaction of the government, private enterprises have established contact with these new visitors. After a few initial difficulties due to a lack of common language, they have come to know them as the Ceri Collective and Backhatta Hive. Both are peaceful and already civilian ships have begun trading among the stars without official consent from either nation. This lack of regulation has resulted in a loss of taxes for the Republic. (-5,000 C) The Ymorian Collective The nation to the East (quite a few sectors away at that) is known as the Protorian Council. They are tall humanoids with very unfamiliar facial features, however in general very friendly and amiable fellows. Open for any kind of contact they have sent best wishes to the Ymorian Collective, offering a trade deal where either side’s merchants may freely visit the markets of their nations (paying heed to the national regulations for trade of course). The expiditions to the West meet little but one or the other stray foreign ship of the people that had warned them off earlier. Avoiding intruding further into their domain, the exploration ships have withdrawn back home without results. All research completed. What to do next?

I will hear it upon my return next year, this mission is much more important.” Thonaqan orders to his former tutor the Archpriest. “For my absence I entrust you with the governance of the Kingdom. This opportunity requires my personal attention, so I must take the first chance I get, otherwise a new one might not even come.” The duo is walking up the stony stairs to the palace high above the city of Osocchi Appachaqui. Just as they approach the door a figure comes out of the shade. It’s his loyal retainer and friend Tuqua. “Tuqua!” – “My liege.” – “Wonderful work, wonderful! Come, let’s head inside and take a quick seat. The next steps are of utmost importance.” King Thonaqan places a hand on his friends shoulder to gently push him back into the throne room. “I heard we have new subjects, wise men and women who joined the Chimuquera as equals?” – “Yes, indeed.” – “Great! But, to appease my eagerness, I must visit them at once. Best to do so whilst the opportunity is young. Visit them, introduce myself and get to know these leaders. And then to head South to the Grand Empire of Ak.” – “Most prudent choice, my king. Will you take the Archpriest with you? Or perhaps the Warmistress?” – “No, no... Solameqan is to act as regent here whilst I am away, the Warmistress is to stay in the region in the South to make certain things are in order and see to the needs of our new people. You, Tuqua. You come with me to Ak.” A certain lack of words shows on the retainer who in the end bows his head. “So I shall, my liege.” – “Good. Then it’s settled. We travel south in three days. Enough time to recuperate from our journey I say. Dismissed, everyone.” With a wave of his hand he ascends to the throne of stone with inlays of gold, as his courtiers leave one by one. Thonaqan sits down, restless mostly, drumming with his fingers on the armrests of the massive piece of furniture. After a while he calms down, closing his eyes. Exhausted he dozes off, unaware of the little bird that has returned to one of the windows, carried by a warm breeze. It looks left and right, sees the sleeping King, observes for a little, before flying off again, with little interest for the trivial matters of man and politics. Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. 19. Turn 8 Year 2208 There is a time for peace and a time for war. Tjieran Unitary State The wreckage is safely secured thanks to the diligent efforts of the Tjieran soldiers and combat engineers. The exploration team members and scientists are able to classify the ship as a freighter class. In its cargo are mostly metal alloys and other resources for construction. They find the corpses of a few crew, mostly frozen remains of beings that look like humanoid carrion birds. Odd. (+2 M from the wreckage) Zyrka Republic The insane funding iniative hires people from all levels of society, every little man and woman who MIGHT have something to contribute gets hired. Result being that ALL projects, by estimation will be done TWO years earlier. On another note, the foreign ships return, almost simultaneously. In the North, an exploration class ship makes its way to one of the closest Zyrka outposts in the vastness of their space, whilst in the South something that seems to be some kind of freighter does something similar. It does not seem they are hostile, given there is no warfleet showing up. (Discord for more) UNITED FEDERATION OF SKELLAR SYSTEMS The Adaptaar, albeit being suspicious in the early weeks and months of contact, seem to come to the consensus that neither Libellans nor Skellar are to be considered hostile. Later the same year they do agree to the trade agreement and non aggression pact. Although they are not a democratic nation such as their newfound trade partners and are a bit more conservative in matters of society and culture, they are willing to accept the differences between the people. The Libellan Union concurs with the notion that mutual respect is the course to go and will only bring peace and prosperity to all. The scientists announce that they will finish the research for the Kinetic weapons now next year at last. Sol Empire “They are coming.” is the last transmission of a mining outpost on the frontier of the Sol Empire. Video feed transmitted back to Gaia has shown a sizeable fleet of the unknown ships approaching. Following a short assault by Corvette class ships, the communications are out. Similar reports in nearby systems. The war the Sol Empire has been expecting has come. Whoever they are, they seem to have the wish for a rapid war. And the regions where the Sol Empire has eyes and ears grow fewer and fewer as this foreign enemy surgically strikes one system after the next. What will mankind do against this new threat? The Republic of Galaron Due to the aggressive investments conducted, a breakthrough is achieved and the first Xylorite Infusion Type Reactor is now operational. With the schematics and layouts all in the clear, the Republic can now begin to widely construct them to bolster ship energy capacities (given they have enough Xylorite crystals on board) as well as power cities planetwide more efficiently than ever. A whole new branch of business with Xylorite mining opens itself up! Artificial gravity can be generated by simulating the gravitational pull of massive objects. Generating such fields falls slightly into the principle of warp technology, as warp uses gravitational force to manipulate space after all. The scientists are optimistic and propose a research plan for the next three years which should introduce reliable, self sustaining (for the most part) gravity plates and systems that can be installed on all vessels and stations in the nation, civilian or military. Groukoxxot Clan The vast city planet reveals to be a hold of treasure beyond measure. Automated facilities that are partially still functional, massive storage houses filled with resources available for the Clan and much more. The society that lived here however has gone extinct due to a cataclysmic event which they are not certain about. One thing though becomes notable. The entire planet is devoid of any biological signs, not even the slightest bacteria is present. To the West, they do indeed encounter small vessels of an unknown species at work. Civilians. Greedy for plunder, they quickly rob the miners of their possessions, leaving them behind, adrift in escape pods or vessels with disabled drives. Let them rot there, someone will surely come looking for them and until then the Groukoxxot are nowhere to be found anyhow, hah! (+5 M, +5,000 C) The Ymorian Collective In the place where those unknown civilian vessels have been found, the research vessel soon encounters new ships, though ships of war. Albeit they seem not necessarily hostile, they seem to warn off the research vessel by target locking it repeatedly as it approaches. (Discord) East they go and they will not come back this year. But they report that they have encountered ships of unknown origin quite a few sectors away. What shall they do? (Discord) On the research front, great news everyone! The laser research for the ground based weaponry will be finished four years earlier, as well as the Warp Sensors now in line as well (5 years earlier)!

Osocchi Appachaqui is busy as usual outside, but as the palace with said throne room is located a bit outside and above the city, with a good view down to it from where one may sit on the chair of this land’s ruler, the voices of the Chimuquera do not reach in. There are no guards on duty, no retainers to be seen, no ministers present. The King is not at home. He went North, to Antramar, in hopes of furthering the diplomacy and perhaps even establishing a more solid bond of friendship with some of the neighbouring realms. And of course, to learn the lay of the world as it is. He is in company of the Archpriest. All the while, his best friend and loyal retainer Tuqua is South with the warmistress, to carry out the task of growing and enriching both the realm and the people. So it is quiet. A bird flies in through one of the many windows, as a warm summer breeze carries it past the frame of stone. Curious glances left and right, with nothing to see, nobody around and not a single fly or worm to eat. Disinterested it leaves. It’s quiet in the room of stone. Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-18,000 Quti for 4 farms) King Thonaqan who travelled North to Antramar upon the invitation brings along a sizeable amount of wealth as a gift. It is a bit in hope that it will also help his pursuit of finding a suitable bride. (-5,000 Quti to Antramar) Down in the South, Tuqua does not hesitate in his mission and invests a sizeable amount of Quti to acommodate the chieftains and leaders of the independent tribes and villages in the South properly. All in order to convey his liege’s message. (-2,000 Quti) To the South, the Pachaqui begin to manifest their destiny by constructing two new keeps on the frontier. Primarily it is meant to consolidate their hold on the land properly. (-16,000 Quti & 4 AP for 2 Keeps; Map to follow) Under the warmistress’ guidance, the Pachaqui Kingdom continues to train and arm an additional 1,000 men. 500 of them shall be warriors, whilst the other 500 shall assume their roles as Plumed Archers. They will be equipped with the highest quality of equipment the Kingdom has to offer and add to the force that is capable of defending the interests of the Chimuqueran people. (-8,000 Quti, -1 AP for 500 T3 Regular Infantry; -6,000 Quti, -1 AP for 500 T3 Plumed Archers) Following an instruction left behind by the Archpriest, the clergy of the Pachaqui Kingdom focuses on training new adepts to strengthen the capabilities of the Chimuquera in case of a less mundane situation. Also the gifts of Mama-Pacha should not be squandered! (-30,000 Quti for 3 adepts) The Kingdom of Pachaqui, in the name of King Thonaqan Micchuqui, sends out missives to the surrounding realms, specifically to Antramar, Kastovia, Aldemaric League, Tomuk Oburakai, Ardes, Ishikawa, Crimson Order, Mitrovic Empire and Krolestwo. The missive inquires and invites regarding the potential of a marriage of a suitable princess to the King, who is still unwed to this day. Negotiations may take place in regards to this. (Everyone) The remaining Quti, rectangular chips of gold are being stored in the treasury of Osocchi Appachaqui, in order to save it for the coming year, where coin might become much more needed. (-1,100 Quti) As the impaling spikes spell is concluded the next project for the priests of the Chimuquera is to elaborate on a spell that may mend cracks and damages in stone, as well as reinforce it against impacts and further damage through tremors, impacts and other less mundane means. Reinforce Stone and Earth shall it be named. (Passive, started 868, due in 872 as T2) Past: In the meantime, the Archpriest Solameqan orders the exploration of the gifts of Mama-Pacha, the powers she has bestowed upon the Chimuquera. The subject shall be the rapid formation of rock spikes out of the ground in a straight line from the caster, to impale approaching enemies. Whilst it seems cruel, it is essential that the Chimuqueran people have the means to protect themselves properly. (Passive study, year 4, due 868; now concluded)
  21. Turn 7 Year 2207 Timeless, space continues to exist. New encounters happen, with new friends and foes on the distant horizon. Will the nations pursue war or find friendship among the sea of stars? Tjieran Unitary State Whilst there are massive quantities of usable materials around, there are no workers and professionals being paid, so the allocated resource remain in storage. (20 M returned) Whilst they find more of the sheer endless riches of this vast galaxy, they are unable to find anything noteworthy this year around. In terms of resources at least. What they do find is the corpse of a spaceship crashed on the barren surface of a moon. Design and specification completely foreign to the Tjierans. The new concept of gravity plates to be installed on ships is a welcome one. It would allow for easier loading, unloading, maneuvering, fighting loss of bone density and muscle mass, allow for proper healing in space, in case of injury. The list of benefits is quite long, and given gravity theory is the way to go for the start the science teams begin. Four to five years they say. The State Despite thoroughly combing the systems in the sectors over the past years, the crews were unable to uncover anything of major interest. Thanks to the funds invested by the State, the engineering and science teams were able to finish parts of the project ahead of schedule, saving a whole year of research effort! Practical applications and effective mining for the newly found metal is due in roughly six years at the current state of affairs. The teams request additional funding in order to hire more staff. The metal might prove to be more than beneficial to the Saryn, perhaps even essential to their daily lives in space. Albeit it works within very similar principles Quantum Sensors are a tough nut to crack. Observing and object through EM resonances and other pings over hundreds of light years with somewhat accurate methods, whilst piercing into the Quantum Plane... Not bad, but tough to figure out. The scientists expect a conclusion and first workable version of such Quantum Sensors to be due in 10 years. Groukoxxot Clan The journey is quite uneventful, a couple of massive space... fish pass by the fleet one day, utterly harmless as they munch on some asteroids. However at the end of their journey they encounter a system where there is a world covered in cityscape. Ruins. Odd. Heavily armored and in a suit that supports the wearer’s motor function by enhancing their strength and granting them additional mobility. That is the idea behind the Heavy Infantry Combat Suit. The technologies pulled from robotics, hydraulic systems, advanced electronics, the scientists are easily able to furnish the first prototypes in a mere four to five years. The conceptualization stage has begun and the weapon engineers report they will come back with a viable model in two years. UNITED FEDERATION OF SKELLAR SYSTEMS The greatest news in this is that the scientists report back they will finish their kinetic weaponry research TWO years earlier now. Whilst the funding allocation for the corpse study of the star beast fell short due to lack of researchers available, it was redirected into the kinetic research instead. The Libellan Union reports to the Skellar they have encountered a nation to their South that calls itself the Holy Adaptaar Commonality. A very spiritual people, they are reluctant to cooperate with foreigners, however friendly in all encounters so far. Zyrka Republic There is little to report on the research front. The new branch of studies for Laser Armament is due in roughly nine years. Naturally all the science teams call out for more funding. On another note, two foreign ships of completely different origin are detected in the vicinity of Zyrka space by civilians. One to the North, the other to the South. Who might these strangers be? Are they friendly? The Ymorian Collective And they do find life indeed. Roughly six sectors away, just when the exploration vessels are to turn around to head home for refueling, they encounter foreign civilian ships who flee upon detection. The specifications are unknown, but given the small levels of armament, they were civilian. On the homefront, the science teams report that the Warp Sensors should be ready to be installed on every installation, ship and other type of infrastructure within the next eight years. At the same time, as if they were racing them, the military engineers that are working on the laser armaments for the Ymorian Collective state that they would be finished in seven years! Of course with both sides clamoring for more funding. It’s always more funding. Sol Empire This new type of armor would certainly be an achievement for mankind and a welcome development, following the news of a potentially hostile neighbour. Thus far they have not been detected again nearby, but the admirals are certain these foreigners are watching. Anyhow. The project as per chief engineer of the research team, should reach a viable level of completion in about seven years, thanks to the very generous funding received. Fortunately the material is so abundant that they have no shortage in testing it and designing armor.

Knowledge can be power I assume. But on the other hand, it is also to greet these people as friends. Peace and prosperity is what Mama-Pacha is giving us to live by. And we shall praise her and grow her gifts as well.” Both the Archpriest Solameqan and his friend Retainer Tuqua remain quiet. “Thonaqan!” bellows the warmistress from the foot of the pedestal. She has always been a rough one. And not very comfortable with court etiquette. But she was a great warrior and the King respected that. Though in such a commanding voice, she could be a pain more often than not. “Yes, warmistress?” – “I want my warriors. It has been a year already and I have not seen a single Quti flowing into my armies! I need strong and proud warriors, many, to defend us and the name of Mama-Pacha!” – “Your eagerness is a pleasant sight, Warmistress, but the King-“ Solameqan begins, before being interrupted by King Thonaqan himself. “You will have your warriors. Whilst our mission remains peace, we must be wary, for there are those that seek war.” He pauses and awaits a reaction from Theaqui. She simply nods with a gruff noise and stomps out of the palace. “Master of Coin.” the King idly waves. Quickly one of the previously quiet people in the room approach. It was the Master of Coin Montoquo Asumchi, a diligent, albeit incredibly dull fellow. It was all numbers with him. “See that the Warmistress receives her Quti.” – “Yes my liege, at once my liege.” the Master of Coin replies hastily, bowing a few times, before shuffling out. “Now, Master Archpriest. A new realm approached us for trade? They are called...?” – “They call themselves the Amarantic Dominion. Whilst trade might be beneficial and good for the gift of prosperity, I advise caution. They worship a dark power and dabble deep in the powers of the unholy necromancy, tainting the gift of life from Mama-Pacha.” Thonaqan remains quiet for a while. Tapping his chin for minutes at a time. “My liege?” – “Allow their merchants in.” – “But the thre-“ – “Ties, but lose ties. For now. Is that all?” the King adds in response. “No, my King. One last matter of utmost importance. You are not wed yet.” – “And in honesty, I don’t think you’d want a wife such as the warmistress, despite her strength.” adds Tuqua in jest. As a lifetime friend of the King he was allowed such jests, although he does earn misgiving stares from the court for that. King Thonaqan could not help but smile at the joke. “Yes, Archpriest. It is a subject you have brought up thirty-five times in the past two years. Send a missive to the neighbouring realms, announce that the King seeks a marriage. All benefits included.” Thonaqan waves off in a tired way. It has been a long day and there was still much on his mind. “Now then, dismissed.” The two companions as well as the court bows and leaves, leaving the King behind on the throne atop the pedestal in the great palace hall of Osocchi Appachaqui, the city of the skies. Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. It is important to secure a foothold in this new land, and whilst there are already people living there further south, there is enough room. That aside, he has plans. 23. Turn 6 Year 2206 Time is running short for some, and for others it is an eternity. Monsters are slain, relics are uncovered, progress is made. UNITED FEDERATION OF SKELLAR SYSTEMS News on the research front. Thanks to the renewed influx of funding, the scientists proclaim six years to conclusion of the project, with everything back on track as it’s supposed to. On the other hand, the exploration vessel has uncovered a system that holds two terrestrial planets with unusually high energy readings. Matter and density levels of the long swathes of crystalline structures are high above what would be expected. The material is also completely unknown, except that the crystals appear to have two forms, a black energy energy rich one and a less enriched white variant. As a natural reaction, whereever the two crystal formations come into close contact to eachother, they discharge pure electricity once in a while. Empire of Sol The harsh restrictions force explorers and private prospectors of Sol back home. The foreign exploration vessel is detected again in the same sector, different star systems, where it by happen chance despite all caution appears to have picked up a civilian ship that was about to pack up and leave its prospecting site for minerals. They immediately report back to the government that they have been found. Minutes pass, the foreign craft apparently conducting a few scans on the civilian ship, not responding to hailing attempts or similar. It is then seen to withdraw from the system entirely. Time might be running short. The metallurgic comission in charge of the project welcomes the initiative and proceeds accordingly. Going by their estimation, a viable high quality solution for applying Itoron as a material for armor requires an extended period of time, even with current investment level. The scientists and engineers assume it to take 16 more years before something practical can be utilized. The Republic of Galaron Rapid steps in progress for the research into the new wonder of an energy source, Xylorite. With great strides the massive teams of scientists that are now working on it, announce for a completion in merely two more years if the funding remains at such a high level! Otherwise it remains eerily quiet in the Republic. No new findings as of recently, no breakthroughs, no events of importance. Tjieran Unitary State The scientists expect a completion of the new series of ground armaments to be completed in roughly six years. Given they have a lot of the prequisite technology already from space developement this will be an easy and straight up task. The shipyard masters and engineers that have come together to work on an improved variant of the Fusion engines scratch their heads as they look through the schematics. Nine sessions later and months of studies, they have found so many flaws and shortcomings on the current versions of all civilian and military grade fusion engines that you could write a legends about it. Eager to make this legend into a phamplet instead, they estimate to work on the requested upgrade for the next nine years. The Ymorian Collective The sea of stars is vast, but sometimes just quiet. All three exploration trips yield not notable results this year. It’s like there is nobody out there, nobody sentient, no notable lifeforms. Or they might just be hiding? The researchers undertake their journey to the ancient ruins on the far away planet. (Encounter) Zyrka Republic A foreign ship has been sighted on the fringes of the Northern territories. Apparently it did nothing but survey and catalogue the star system before it disappeared again. It hasn’t noticed any other vessels of the Republic that just happened to be in the vicinity. The need of a new variant of shielding was imminent. Whilst deflectors kill momentum and redirect force of projectiles they do not stop them or let them impact on the energy field itself. Therefore a flexible solution that is easy to manipulate and direct as needed must be found. The concept of a bubble shield around the ship that protects it from harm by letting foreign energies and objects impact on its surface is selected for the ongoing studies into shield technology in the Zyrka Republic. The scientists have a general understanding of the basic mechanics, but developing it will take time. Ten years at the current rate.
  24. Turn 5 Year 2205 Change looms on the horizon as the first few contacts are established and first encounters happen. Space is vast, but it grows smaller by the year, as people venture forth to find new riches and opportunities for their lives. To live, to thrive, to create a legacy for themselves and for their descendants. Now it only stands to find out what this legacy might entail. Empire of Sol Due to aggressive funding the Fusion Reactor technology becomes handily available 2205, with excess funds returning to the treasury. (10,000 C returned) On the frontier of Itoron, the originally quite ominous super metal, news spread like wildfire. It is the super metal the majority of the science community has dreamt of, specifically for space construction very useful if used in alloys, given its innate hardness, making it also conveniently resilient against micro meteors that are usually made of lesser materials and mostly debris. And on other news, a deep space satellite returns note through the newly obtained Quantum Communication methods, that a foreign vessel has been detected scouting a solar system at the very fringe of the Human-claimed space. Going by images the classification points towards exploration vessel class, very light armament, small size, no notable features aside from a decent array of sensors. Zyrka Republic ((Feel free to adjust your post. Important are the date stamps on your research projects to keep track of things. I am certain Quantum Comms are done already. Also look into your population.)) Tjieran Unitary State Scientists rejoice as the invention of a Quantum Communication device has brought the various worlds and outposts of the Tjieran Unitary State so much closer together. Communication in realtime over such vast distances is exactly what the nation will require for prosperous and ongoing expansion in the future. And to react to potential threats that may come of course. As promised, due to the monetary investment two years ago, the scientists complete their task ahead of schedule, introducing new streamlined methods in the existing industrial method for metal and mineral refinement and production. An increase of 10% in output is hereby officially achieved. The Republic of Galaron The additional funding for the forcefield technology is a welcome one, and with the additional staff, they manage to finish critical formulas and calculations for the incoming first simulations and prototypes (much later down the road) earlier than originally planned. A whole year has been saved in time! The careful and controlled extraction of Xylorite crystals has become available to the Republic of Galaron. With simple physical means, carefully microcutting and breaking away crystals with simple hydraulic force, they have been able to obtain rather vast quantities of the crystal ready for experimentation from the numerous easily accessible deposits. Whilst those might run dry, until the deeper deposits are required, the mining technology will be so proven and advanced that should never prove to be an issue anymore. UNITED FEDERATION OF SKELLAR SYSTEMS DOUBLEPOST Bad news. The newly colonized world holds nothing of interest, the sector being only home to a mad space beast it appears, that seems to threaten the safety of the new colony, as the Skellar have simply intruded on its territory. For some reason, despite being light years away it caught wind of it and is en route to the colony. Two years until it reaches it! Thank god for Quantum Communications, otherwise these news would have taken months to reach the ear of the government. (2207 at the colony, unless intercepted earlier) Good news everyone! The Libellan Union proves to be very amiable, and although first contact has been a bit bumpy, they agree on both a trading agreement as well as a non-aggression pact! This might just be the start of a new friendship between two species so different! Artificial gravity is not an unfamiliar concept per say, although originally it was generated by rotation on space station. This method is not very viable for warships and generally leads to bulky and inconveniently sized vessels that still held zero G sections. To solve this, a gravity plating must be invented, and as such the scientists proceed as planned. They estimate the gravity plates to be prepared and ready for testing in five years. The estimation for the Kinetic Weapon improvement is off, and the teams report back that they still require eight years, despite the funding received. Shortcomings in the work of some researches have set back the project slightly. The excuses are the same. Underfunded, overworked, etc.
