*Queue Patriotic Music* An Okarir’maehr Campaign Begins! – A Rally to Silvyr Uradir’s Side! Silvyr Uradir finds his way into the library on the dark night of The 14th of The Amber Cold 1776. He pulls out a chair on one of the lower levels of the grand structure, and begins writing on a long scroll of parchment. This continues throughout the night, constantly tapping his chin with the end of his ink pen to think of the correct words to use in such a declaration. The following morning, the Uradir walked into the square and posted the parchment on the bulletin board. The parchment would read as follows;  “Blessed Republic of Mali’thill, I, Silvyr Uradir, have been updated on the current vacancy of the position of Okarir’maehr, and am beginning my campaign today to fill the seat on the council. I would like to rally my dearest lliran of Haelun’or, and ask for your support during the elections. I would also like to make this missive as informative as possible, so I will be writing down some of the reasons why you should vote Uradir this coming election season. Firstly, In case you do not know me I am Silvyr Uradir, a fourth generation Uradir, who was once a world renowned doctor that was commonly nicknamed ‘Doc Uradir’. I had a successful business selling medicine when I was much younger, and since then I have been focusing on my Talonnii and my studies in the Eternal Library. I participated in the revolution of freedom and liberty that occurred a few years ago, to dethrone the ‘Diarchy’ and place the power in the hands of we the people. And since then I have been married, to a beautiful ‘thill known as Amberleigh, and have continued my experiments and studies in the privacy of my home. I was also chosen to be a professor at the college, and am in the final stages of writing lectures. Besides that, I have dedicated myself fully to my Talonnii, and my studies.  I wish not to boast, but for the sake of representing my beliefs, and strong will to win this election, I feel it may be necessary for you to understand exactly why I am running. Primarily, seeing as the previous Okarir’maehr has left his position, leaving me a solid foundation to build upon, I would like to continue his work in the best way possible. I have no desire to destroy anything Silvos Sythaerin has built. I will use what he created, and move it forward in a way that would make him and the republic proud. Classes will be free of course, but books will have a very low cost as they do now, in case you wish to study the lectures at home after they are completed. Yearly missives will be posted, urging those uneducated or curious ‘thill forward to the classrooms of the Eternal College, as it is vital to the successful future of our great nation. I plan on uniting the scholars of Haelun’or under the banner of The Republic, and the ceiling of the Eternal College, for the sake of Maher’sae Hiylun’ehya. It’s vital that education become a priority for the masses. I vow to get the seats of the classroom filled, and to get the people of our blessed republic educated.  The curriculum will remain similar to what it is now, but with more of an emphasis on Purity, Larihei and her followers, the history of the greater Talonnii of Haelun’or, the history of our people, Etiquette, and the Mali Language. All Mali‘thill should be well educated on the following subjects, and with these courses I can ensure all will feel welcomed, and will learn with a smile on their faces rather than a bored grimace. I will conclude by saying Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya. And consider voting Uradir in this coming election. And if you have any doubts, please attend the speech tomorrow, there will be a q&a towards the end! I will be taking any and all suggestions, and formulate ways to implement them when and if I get elected as your Okarir’maehr. - Okarir’maehr Canidate, Silvyr Uradir”

It’s about preserving what once was. At the end of the day, the guild was given to the players who ran it, and was taken out of shiftnatives hands. The player group managed the lore, infact Zane (an old friend of mine) actually wrote it all. For 6 years the group was fully player-run, it’s only after being pressured by Fireheart and other staff to let them be monks, infact we weren’t given a choice back in 2016. It was forced upon us, even though none of us felt it was a good idea. But I had the understanding that the player-run edition was to remain ‘Wilven Sanctuary’ while the staff version was to be called something like ‘Crypt Monks’, to keep the name of Wilven, a player based organization, which it is. Staff should not be taking over player-run guilds, regardless of their origins. I don’t care if Tythus made it originally, at the end of the day Zane is the one who wrote the lore, Spike edited it, and I managed it. We were all players who had a passion to be monks, not Admins looking to make a mockery of the guild name, by allowing anyone to be a monk without the proper IC training. I hear so many complaints on today’s monks, partly a reason why I decided to invest my time into a post/ argument like this. I only wish for them to change the name, so the player-run guild’s history can be salvaged, and maintained again by players who may want to do it, not staff. They should use different lore, and a different name, instead of piggy backing off of our hard work over the many years we all invested into the guild. An example I would use to explain your argument would be this; “Bill gates created microsoft, therefore all programs created on microsoft are owned by Bill Gates, and he should get full credit and control over them rather than the people who invested the time and effort into the programs they made. And he can kick the real owners off the program any time he wants.” YES The monks wouldn’t be a thing without Shiftnative. But Shift handed the reigns to Zacc, Zacc handed them to Zane, then Zane to Spike, then Spike to me. Shift was the first, but I was the last. I never handed over the control to Muffins, or Fireheart. Infact my monk is still around, and I am waiting until I get some more time to bring the guild back. But first this needs to be sorted out so I can do that in the future. I always knew the Application Team (now Community Team) wanted control over it, and we fought with them about it for the entire time the guild was player run. But I was young, and gave into the pressure from Fireheart. They pushed for our magic to get removed, and inevitably we were pushed out of the temple too because of his influence. Looking back as an adult now, it was incredibly unprofessional, and frankly it was just a grab for power on his part, to make himself look good. That’s all it was, he didn’t have the passion for the monks that I did, I’d argue that nobody ever has except for those who came before me. Wilven Sanctuary Monks will always be Player Run, I won’t have some admin thinking she has power over something my friends and I took years and years to build, just for her to take the credit and control for herself. I was a Monk for three times as long as Muffins has been on the server. I’ll be damned if I let her use our guild’s likeness for herself, to make her look like a productive admin. In a way, I’m doing this for Spike. He left the server because he too was pressured by those in power to give the guild over, but he didn’t. He trusted me, and I see now that I let him down. This needs to be fixed, it’s wrong.

@LotsOfMuffins Please read this post. I think it’s genuienly wrong that you guys are doing this to the legacy my old friends and I created and maintained. Wilven Monks are Player-Run. And always will be. You can’t just steal a guild name and use it for staff, that’s not right. Please change the name, and write your own lore for WHY your monks are connected to the Triumvirate. Wilven Monks have Wilven Adonnan. Temple Monks can have whoever they want but you guys can’t just rip our lore for it. It may not be against LoTC policy, but it is still very wrong. You guys can deny applications all day for plagiarism, but when you steal lore for your staff monks it’s totally fine. I hope you can agree how ridiculous that is. I doubt you knew about player-monks, or about the structure that was laid out years ago for CT Monks, but this is truly tarnishing all of my friends and my own hard work over the years. Our guild is our own, not Staffs.

Okay, but what about being human beings? They could have used any other name. Why are they using Wilven Sanctuary when we gave them Temple Monks. My friends and I worked hard to create, and manage that lore for many years. Not to mention the Community Team rarely plays monks anyway. Would it really be so bad to write their OWN lore for the unique (non Wilven) monks that they play? Blatant plagiarism should still be frowned upon.

So about 2 years ago I led the Wilven Sanctuary Monks. I would like to ask the Community Team to stop using my Guild without my permission, as I still have a character who technically leads it. It was a player run organization, and was disbanded back in Vailor I believe. The Temple Monks are a different (Non-Playable) group that we used for the lore of revival, after our ability to do so was taken away. When I eventually left the Wilven Sanctuary to take a lotc break, I had made it clear to those in charge of the Community Team that our organization (Wilven Sanctuary) was strictly player-based. Not staff owned. I knew they had intentions on playing Temple Monks, but I never thought I would be unable to make Wilven Monk Items, even though I led the Guild for about a year or more. I got a notice after putting some Monk Items on the market, saying I was ‘falsifying’ them. I found this pretty strange, considering I helped manage the lore for the organization for years. If there are any monks left, I would be the last Wilven Monk around. So saying I can not make items that are clearly labeled Wilven Sanctuary Monk items, is very strange and I feel very wrong. Please contact me if you have any questions, Keldrith#4510. If this does not get fixed, I will try my best to work my way up the totem pole until it is fixed. It’s blatant plagiarism to use our guild name and lore without any given permission.

Elrion Visaj walks into the square, and stands on the edge of the fountain. He gazes around the area at all those presently accounted for, and raises both hands in the air for a sudden declaration. “It has come to my attention that the previous Okarir’tir has resigned. I declare myself a candidate for the coming election! Vote Elrion, and you can bet your belly buttons that Haelun’or will be safe from the impurities that plague the rest of the world! Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya!” The Visaj steps down, and makes his way into the tavern.

Silvyr Uradir puts his hands behind his back, as he observes his opponents. He listened to each one’s spiel patiently, and when it was his turn to speak he turned his glance to all those would would listen, ensuring his voice was loud and confident enough to be heard. “Farandil Aldin, I can’t help but feel you have listened to my speech and stole my idea. After your first statement, I suggested the care for the mentally unstable. This is a system that has not been tried before, and personally one that I don’t feel you understand. Regardless of your position in a corrupted guild. It takes special medicine to bring those back to good mental health, not just words. And on the Uradir Estate, I have the ability to create that medicine right at home, and I’m more than certain Dele would have the same access.” The Uradir took a moment to let the information soak into the crowd, he then turned to Dele with challenging eyes, not letting down his guard for even a moment. “Dele Seregon, you claim to be a doctor, but If I remember correctly you are quite the hostile character. Is it not a medical professionals obligation to heal weak or mentally unstable, rather than fight them? Your character is well known, and studied by all. It is without a doubt that you do not truly live by the laws of a doctor, rather you have made up your own, and keep the doctor name for when it’s convenient. Bringing pain to our enemies is against our code, one which you do not truly understand as a doctor, or medical professional.” Silvyr raised a small fist infront of himself, projecting his words outwardly with his body language as much as possible. Ensuring to look strong for the people he was speaking to. “I have taken time away from Haelun’or, but that was over 8 years ago. Since then, I have been a contributing member of society. And I have lived my entire life without inflicting pain on a single person. It is without a doubt in my mind that a doctor should never live to create pain, rather we must heal it. I am a trained botanist, and know well how to attain these materials myself. But I also feel it would be a waste of the people’s time to wait on me personally gathering these materials. Which is why, if I am elected, I would ensure both of my competators have the funding to continue their work, and help the city in the ways I will need them to. The ways the people need them to. I suggest a union of minds, rather than a divide for power. With my influence, we can secure this city from further disaster, especially in these delicate times.” He paused once again, turning his gaze away from his opponents, speaking directly to the people who listened. “Haelun’or should be a safe, healthy place. One our children are not afraid to grow up in, one where all people should have free and reliable access to medicine. I have made great promises before, but I would like to cement them with this. If the people are not confident in my plan within ten years, I promise here today that I will step down from my position, and allow one of my competitors to take my place.”

Elrion Visaj Elrion walks up and raises both hands in the air. “I’m back, baby!” He said, stepping up to get the attention of the others. “I am here today to promote myself, Prince of Malinor, Conqueror of Alderyn, Hero of the Re-imposition of Unity, and Previous Okarir’tir, Elrion Visaj. I led and created past Sohaers, I have been a partner to past Maheral, but most of all, I was the best Okarir’tir since the days of the Vigil! Under my leadership, we fought off Fenn and various human nations, and were able to keep our home in elcihi’thilln.” He raised his hands in the air once again, expecting applause. “I am a father, a warrior, and I was the youngest Okarir’tir who has ever lived. My tactical skills were needed, I even took on other races into a sect of the ‘non-official’ Sillumir, which proved to be very wise in the heat of battle. Many talked badly about my tactics, but in the end we were able to keep the place we call home, and stay unified! I have put the bottle down in place of a sword, and am fully prepared to lead once again. It is my great honor to be here before you today, your vote for me will be perhaps the best choice you have ever made.”

Silvyr Uradir Silvyr Uradir steps forward after Dele, a light smile appearing on his face as he greets the crowd he waved once, and then placed both hands into his pockets, as was habit for him now. “Perfect health is something I have been practicing for life. Health is perhaps the most important part of the city, without it the Sillumir would not be strong, our politicians would not be able to think with logic, and our people would become stupid like all the other races.” He paused briefly, for effect. “In the past, I was competing with Dele Seregon for the leading role of the clinic, and unfortunately due to grand schemes and tricks, I was not afforded the opportunity. However my medicine was purchased by the now Maheral himself, proving it was not ‘snake oil’ as some have called it. I even have the invoices to prove it! It was a necessity for the health of this city during the times of plague, and without it I fear many souls would not be here with us today. I have healed the bones of the broken, hands of the strong, and souls of the lost. I am so committed to health, that I can promise today, within 10 years this city will be totally, and completely secure from any medical disasters that may happen in the future. We will get more funding for the clinic, run by Dele. We will BUY the finest medicine from across the realm, and we will TEACH all those who wish to learn about medicine. So that we might have a small society of doctors, and mental health specialists for those borderlining mental impurity!”
