It wouldn't be abusing the stone arm by using it as a shield. It'll just break if as Dizzy said, it were hit by a blunt weapon, or hit hard enough by a large, sharp weapon. With that being said, I don't think runesmithing or arcane prosthetics are just inherently magics that can be powergamed, but what exactly does this bring to the server that other magics do not? Why get an arcane prosthetic when I can get a runic arm, some weird druidic contraption, or my arm healed in general? What makes this magic a better option? When you actually can fully comprehend other magics, instead of just picking out what is good about them, what is bad about them, and what can be abused about them, you realize it's not as bad as you'd originally think. With that, I don't think this server would overall become better with this add-on implemented, but I don't think it would have any negative effects either.

Soul puppetry is now lacked. Agreed with Lima on this one, this seems to just be something you want to add to advance your own roleplay and increase what you can do both IC and OOC. You're a good dude Hex, but your RP isn't for others. Also! It doesn't matter if the magic is free, going about and actually learning/finding a source of learning is still pushed. It may not be entirely necessary, but it should be done nonetheless.

I have a few questions on arcane puppetry in general. I've been told that the magic is known by very few, so what's the point of adding this on if only a few people can actually experience it in their own RP? Wouldn't it be smarter to actually spread the magic about so everyone can experience it, before actually adding on? Until I get a good idea of why the magic seems to limited, I'm gonna leave a -1. The Dwarves already have a more permanent solution to losing limbs (though it does have to be replaced if it gets worn down or used for extended periods of time). -1

Azel looks over the young woman's shoulder. "Let me train him if he comes. Short Response for all Applicants, write how ye would respond: You come across a massive ruin of ancient design, strange sounds and lights emanate from within: Skale studies the remnants of what looks to be an ancient town, shuffling about in silence. He reaches the basement of one of the abandoned homes. Upon further inspection, he comes across the ruin, his eyes light up at seeing it. Skale kneels down for a moment, drawing the ruin in his notebook, writing notes beside it. "Hmm... I wonder..." Skale says softly before writing a small note and sending it off, waiting for others to come. Once they would arrive, they'd begin the study of the ruin together. While at a local bar you see two dark hooded figures in the corner discussing in a whispered conversation. You can't quite make out what they're saying but you clearly hear the word "artifact": After hearing the word artifact, Skale would slowly take a seat closer to the two men. After watching to make sure they did not notice him, he'd listen to them, taking notes on all the information he could gather. After some time of listening, he gets up and leaves, grinning to himself. Walking down the Anthos Highway you come across a masked man with a sword threatening a hooded figure, claiming he is a necromancer: Skale sits in the shadows, watching the man in silence. After many minutes, he discerns he is not what he truthfully says and steps out. "I have met more than my fair share of necromancers... And you are not one of them." He grins and would then try to handle the situation.

No. Why? Because Magic doesn't have to special or rare? I get it, in Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, Lord of the Rings, and all those High Fantasy settings, magic was some power that was mythical and rare. Rumors were always spread about it, most mages weren't trusted and the like. But usually there are two types of people that have these issues with magic. Those who wish to have special characters to feel better about themselves, and those who are upset because something happened in character that pissed them off. Yes, not all players are able to magic roleplay properly, it's true, but not all players can roleplay swordfighting, archery, alchemy, and even talking properly. Just like magic, swordfighting, archery, and any other form of physical combat must be taught, you can always try the Mage's Guild, or start up your own guild. It's not something you just do, yes you can pick up a sword and swing it, but no you cannot start fighting three people at a time, swinging two blades, countering and parrying away for your life. Yes you can pick up a bow, knock and arrow and shoot it, doesn't mean you are going to hit your target. If you are saying you want apps for magic just because you are upset or because you want to feel special, I don't know what to tell you. We all come to this server for roleplay, promoting elitism isn't fun. If you wish to enjoy fun magic in a fun environment, where you actually learn it and it is taught. Sadly the Guild is currently full, but on a daily basis I roleplay with at least four people who are actually practicing their magic and trying to learn how to roleplay it properly. The ones who don't care to learn are either new players (and remember, we're all new to LOTC and just roleplay in general at one point) or the veterans who think they can just pick up magic without a second thought. Magic is more difficult than it seems, but locking it is not the answer. Though maybe it'll help a bit to make posts, fill out an app, and get a teacher, I'd request the same for other parts of LotC. You lock one part of roleplay, you might as well lock them all. EDIT: Instead of just creating a thread requesting it be locked, or complaining about it, why no try to make an in game Guild? There you can moderate and teach others to the quality of magical Rp goes up.

With that being said, if you've already applied in the past and were not allowed in due to our being full, do not spam applications, as it will not help you with getting accepted. Once space is available for more students, you will be notified if you've applied.
