  1. Brother Sergus prepares to lay down some sick, white-boy beats. We sit on steps of great churchy, mourning loss of crow kingy. With tin-foil hats waving in air, Dwarfies run with scare. Orcs make betraying; Elfies make praying, we come with blets and begin to make flaying. Run from town, put it down, you svednik-clown. Make killing of you for taking our crown.
  2. The Ruskans prepare for the oncoming onslaught of midget. ((No gunpowder was used in the making of this march.))
  3. Title explains it all. I am not really complaining, but I am curious as to way you cannot play a character that is 9 or under anymore. Edit: I am not really looking for opinions. I just want to know why. From someone who made the change would be nice.
  4. A lot of the hate that is coming onto this argument is not PvP itself, but the cheeky remark in the original post which says, "Pvp is default...suck it up...crying...run home." That is what turned a potentially good guide into an old-fashion, Carolina, hit 'em with a cane debate. The problem with the PvP community now (No, not all of them), is that you're throwing it in the roleplayer's face when you say stuff like that. "Boohoo, PvP default, stfu." You do not make the problem better, and you are instigating it. PvP players whined just as much whenever they were tired of edgy-elves with daggers and dual wield katanas. This is really about the side that is losing out on they want to do, not items You like PvP because you like PvP. You like roleplay because you like roleplay. They are not the same, but that does not mean that they cannot exist together. What makes me, as a roleplayer, upset is: Declaring PvP without talking about it. Refusing to compromise and holding on to PvP default (A lot of reports stem from this). Unequal balance system (There is nothing keeping a Halfling from beating an Orc if he is good at PvP). Just being rude about it and saying that all roleplayers complain. Some people genuinely just want to have a roleplay fight. It is not about items; it is about the roleplay. Currently no one in this server, at least none that I have seen since PvP default, actually roleplay fights anymore (I could be wrong! Just have not seen it). Guren sums it up really nicely, even if no one agrees with him. There should be compromise. Make fun, not rp or pvp. Edit: People constantly stress the importance of bettering your PvP so that you can win, but you are assuming that the goal of this server is to win. The goal should be to have fun, not win.
  5. I am mixed. As a philosophy, I think it is unique. As magic, it seems pretty similar to others. I think the idea of an anti-druid is extremely cool. Instead of creating life like a druid, why not create a druid that brings life through death? In the world, humans have to frequently kill or cull certain types of animals or plants so they they do not impede on other organisms. This is why we regulate hunting laws in the United States. In South Carolina, we had to put up bounties on Coyotes (Which is crazy because they are not even native to our state) and kill them because they were wiping out the deer populace. I think that if you reworked this and added new magic that seems counter to druidism, you would really have a gem here mate. Keep what you have, just expand on it. The idea of making life through diseases is meh, but the idea of saving/creating/protecting lives through killing things is something I could get into. It would be something I would want to play at least. Also, I do not think people in Anthos would consider disease to be life. We do not have science/research into these things. This is a modern discovery. After reading up a bit more (I just skimmed through it at first), what I said seemed silly. I do not know...maybe you could add it as a sub-magic to necromancy? They seem to coincide a lot. Necromancer's morality is questionable too. I have seem them fight Scourge at times.
  6. Brother Sergus dons the tinfoil. "Teuton space-mahreens are back. They dared to trespass in Godanistan's domain!" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile in the dwarven city in the Fringe, Yuln'okar and his fellow Elves are still getting the beat down by the Rex and his Orcs, despite the treaty. "Elves sold out to foreign human factions that would see their own kind killed."
  7. Brother Sergus sets down his glasses. His hands begin to shake; he trembles. His hand goes immediately to his heart. "Oh Godani... if Teuton's take over they will make desecrating of churchy." He begins to sweat, then looks down.

  9. Fancy-strelt sighs and speaks at all the protest, "Homosex-Damen! I spit in general direction. Mama should have made wash of mouth for such lies. Steelwall made much progress and hope for people of Raev. Much more than other saints that just ran around making dead of lesser races."
  10. I have been through great effort in order to find a concept for the 4.0 Antagonist. Here you go: I am fine with the Antagonist horseman. I just thing that the new map reminds me of the Texas/Mexican border. Here is your new horse mounts.))
  11. I cannot really fix the picture, but it is basically the Game of Thrones meme. It says, "Winter is coming. Secure yourself a poncho."
  12. http://gyazo.com/2c3289eba21acf6324f7b0277c9c30ba ...will be in a mesa biome. Make prepare for border war, rafting, crossbow shootouts, and poker.
  13. Brother Sergus of Kralta sighs, then rummages around the church of Kralta for old text. Can you provide links to the teachings/lore of the True Faith? I only know Orthodox.))
  14. Brother Sergus frowns at the chaos found on both sides. His heart is weary from the deaths of so many of Godanistan's children. To a Lucienist he says, "Temper your actions with love and understanding. Walk in the path of light, then hold the hand of your enemy. It is His will that you do this." And to the Orthodox, "Make find of wisdom in scripture. Child is not to succumb to ignorance and use Godanistan's path to make war. Do not rely on fancy-pants spawn monks and their heathen magic. "He would then bop the man upside the head with the crook of his staff. And to the random Orc that somehow found his way into the midst of things, he tries to offer a book. "Lat is having eyes and ears." He taps the Orc on the ears and brow. "Make learn of book, then will be giving wine and bread."
  15. I suppose you could ask questions. It is a parable for children, mostly. And the illiterate.
  16. I am speaking more about ooc-wise than their decision. She could not physically live there, as in have a house. No one is allowed to LIVE in the spawn besides monks.
  17. Orcs wil not rply accept an Elf. The Dwarves refused. The Scourge refused. And the Order of the Wilvern refused. Also, none of these people are known for having a strong rp base. The Dwarves and Orcs are both militant; they have a lot more pvp/fighty rp than normal rp. It would not be fun. The scourge would not accept her because they dislike the scourge children. And the monks have ooc reasons not to let anyone in.
  18. I believe that people have every right to respond to Z'ress in a negative way rply; however, I think there are certain ooc issues that spring up. When the entire world dislikes you, you cannot roleplay anywhere. I do not think that automatic kill on sight is fair in her case because it detracts from the entirety of her roleplay, especially when she has not committed any crime herself. Z'ress icly dislikes, or at least has issues accepting, her children. She has kill on sight with both Oren and Conclave, which means she can only roleplay normally in the spawn area. That is a bit overkill. She has been killed multiple times, and it eventually becomes the point where you are 'forced' to pk your character because it is aggravating. I don't want it to be an ooc issue, but I think people should strive to make fun, not roleplay.
  19. Yuln'okar shifts in his seat, places his hand on his cheek, then thinks on the matter. He has nothing to sell as of yet, but he considers the time it would take to get his workshop back up and running. He sighs and makes a note to contact Steelwall or a Dwarf for use of a forge to make jewelry.
  20. A young priest sits among the pews of the great church in Kralta. A small, Raevir boy rests on his lap and reads. Several more children crowd around, as well as several farmers that never learned how to read. He tells them a story: In the streets of Abresi, there lived a piece of cobblestone. As horses drudged through the street, a small piece became loose. The stone, baffled by this new position, said to himself, "Why should I lie in the street with the rest of these cobblestones? I will find someplace grander to be." An orphan boy came along, picked up the Cobblestone, then tossed it at the window of a nearby nobleman's house. The house was filled with trinkets, statues, paintings, fine foods, and sweet drink. The Cobblestone thought, "Is this not grand! Look at all of the things I now have." The owner rushed in at the sound of glass shattering, and the Cobblestone spoke, "You'd best get out of my way!" The owner fell. He tripped over the Cobblestone, injured his neck, then died alone. Many years passed. The house became empty. Rooms became infested with dust. Mold crept up the walls. Food became rotten, and the mice took it away. Cobblestone despaired at the situation, "Oh, how I wish to leave this dreadful place!" And no sooner had said that, an old servant came by, picked up the Cobblestone, and tossed it out into the street again. It cried, speaking to it's fellow Cobblestones, "Borsa! It is good to be meeting you! I've been at party, making entertain with nobles, but do not care much for them. Yearn to be with the common people, so came home."
  21. I said building for a reason. The actual hobbit building is not the grass, it is what is inside. The dirt on top is called terraforming. Terraforming is perfectly fine. People should not be offended by my mentioning their builds. If you do not give criticism, people will not fix what they are doing wrong, and some of the things on this server are very wrong. It is embarrassing to have such strange, no effort builds so close to the spawn. It sets a bad example for new players. I am not afraid to bash people who build like this. This is my favorite server, and I want it represented with the best builds, regardless of whether they are messy medieval or not. These are just plain bad. Edit: Using other materials for buildings is fine. It is in this way used that I find it bad. Also the picture up above with all the leaves.
  22. How to Build The purpose of this guide is to shed light on all things build-wise and improve the server so that it does not look like a third world PvP faction server. The following guide may contain content that is offensive to some viewers, especially those viewers that cannot build. Discretion is advised. When building, take into consideration real life physics. Do not build stone on a wooden frame. Wood is not strong enough to support stone. Use wood for stone walls, or use stone for a stone walls. Do not forget to apply supports if the build is large, or if you are mining. Do not take blocks for granted. Just because a block can be placed, it does not mean it should be. Leaves, sand, gravel, and dirt are terrible building materials for a building. When placing leaves, make sure they are placed in a way that it would be possible for that plant to grow up to. 2. Ask yourself, "Will this be used for anything?", and "Can I do/have this?" Do not build something if it serves no purpose. Do not build excessive housing if there is no one to live in them. If your character is a super duper dope mage that shoots fireballs, do you think he took time to learn how to build? Do not build castles, forts, manors, or big **** without extreme need. If everyone and their mother has a castle, the value of all go down. Also, if you are just a peasant why would you have a castle in the first place? Become a King, then build a castle if you want. Don't use your buildings as a means to an end. Just because you made a fort overnight does not mean you need to create a knight order. This is not a huge problem anymore because Carrion wiped out all of the randomness. As such, I will not have pictures. Recent abusers would be Ambriel, everyone in the Wilds, and to some extent Flotsam. Past abusers would be Valois, Aldersburgh, and Ishikawa-land. 3. Keep to a certain style, try to be original, try to apply texture, and do not create block spam. Definition of block spam- Excessive use of one block. Definition of texture (in this case)- Using multiple blocks of various types to create a vivid, rich environment. It can also be used to show shadows or moisture in an area. If you are building with certain blocks, try not to just flip it and build something else. For example: If you have wooden buildings with wooden roofs, do not jump and build stone buildings. Keep things unique, but keep them uniform too. Be creative! Stop with the straight line mess. 4. Let your buildings speak for themselves. Do not force or mash builds together. Not much to say here other than to not do it. Give your buildings synergy. Below are good and bad examples. My problem with the spawn is not so much the buildings themselves as it is their purpose. Only a handful of people actually live there, and it does not warrant to have so many empty buildings. Also, the stone is mixed up. It should stay similar. Cobblestone or sandstone, not both. Bad from an RP perspective. The actual buildings themselves are good. (Tavern could be fixed. The cobblestone does not blend with the sandstone very well). Good Bad Good Helpful Tips Experiment with slab and staircase blocks. These can really give you an edge and keep your buildings from looking boring as hell. Don't build it if you do not intend to use it. LotC is terrible for players who build things and just let them rot. Don't be that guy. Examine other buildings, but do not copy them block for block. Do not create buildings that are outside of your culture without rp reasoning. Don't be afraid to terraform. For an intricate guide, check out Cirdanoth's post on messy medieval building. It is a ***** name, but basically it means to build in a way that is viable and realistic. Edit: Build in whatever style you want, but build it right. I am not promoting messy medieval. These builds I showed are bad; they are an eyesore no matter what kind of style you use. Anything worth doing is worth doing well!
  23. A dark-skinned man clad in a beggar's robe enters the grand church in Kralta. "Have walked beggar's path. Will make streltsi attend mass and listen to good word of Godanistan. Is time of non-violence and peace in Ruska!"
