What's the deal with rolling in RP combat? Is it required or..? Because it really doesn't make much sense..

NO one can 'force' you to roll default, there is only the PvP default.
Take roll's as you wish

No it isn't, some people do it because they like to throw things at luck, but you can opt to not do it and just counter-emotes. Or, if you would rather, go onto PVP combat.

Rolling is not required but occasionally recommended to resolve OOC disputes.
