Favourite character you've role-played and why?

Ryv lumbers slowly up the path leading into Karovia, his boots crunching loudly on the gravel. Tired from a days labour he passes the different tradesmen and peasants, giving a dismissive, husky grunt to any who might try communicating with him. As he reaches the tavern he enters and slams his fist on the counter to gain the Bartenders attention. “You there, barkeep! Give me the strongest ale you’ve got, I plan to drink away todays wages”

So it has been around a week since the removal of status updates now. My initial response to the change was that I expected the removal would be a good break from all the negativity that is often seen in the status updates. To a large extent it has been refreshing to check the forums without having to read through any passive aggressiveness, raging and immaturity that was often displayed there. On top of that I think it has also been an effective way for the staff to update the player base about smaller updates that don’t warrant a whole forum post, e.g. Patch notes, important threads to view, etc. Where previously those updates would be replaced by the newer ones and would often be missed. However I also feel that many beneficial aspects have been lost with the change. They often were a spot where people could have a laugh, advertise things, ask questions or even just share what was join on. Without them the forums do seem to have lost a bit of their lustre and there is less appeal to come on here as often. Overall I get the idea that the statuses brought the community together more than it caused it to splinter and it would be nice to see them return after the trail is over.

How long have you resided with the blessed Mali’aheral? I have not dwelt within the walls of the Silver City before now, but in this new land dwelling among my brothers and sisters seem the most logical step to take. Why do you wish to become a citizen of our cihi? I wish to live beside my Mali’aheral kin and to be apart of our nation through its times of prosperity and, should it come to it, to help during times of dissension and strife. How can you declare you are Mali'thill? It is clear by my physical appearance that I am of pure blood, my white hair, blue eyes and long ears are a testament to this fact. It is also evident that I am pure of mind, my thoughts and actions never betraying the worthy goal of striving for knowledge and the progress of our blessed race. What does maehr'sae hiylun'ehya mean to you? The pursuit of Wisdom and Health. There are no values greater than aspiring towards rigorously training ones mind with the likes of knowledge, arts and science, as well as perfectly maintaining ones purity with utmost vigour. What is your personal vision for our blessed race? My desire is to see the Mali’aheral grow in their knowledge of all things, not for the acknowledgement from the lesser races, for their respect is of no value to us, but that knowledge is the power that lasts through time. Teolas was in Ambris when he heard the news of his lords death. He stared in disbelief at the town around him and all the work they had put into it, all that they had planned to accomplish that would never come to light for Adarian. It was all over so quick, it only seemed like a few elven days ago that he had joined House Colin. Now three people he would have called his family lay dead, there as nothing left but misery in this town. He bows his head and says a final goodbye under his breath. “Farewell my lord, it was an honour to serve under you. May you have peace in the Creator’s care and I will see you once again when my time is called” He salutes toward the keep one last time then walks off, leaving his home behind him.

Perhaps this will work, perhaps it won't. Either way we need to give it a chance and if it completely fails then id imagine we would move to rules that will work out better. We can never improve if we never change, even if changing does involve some complete flops. However it is destined to fail if we never give it a trial and decide here that it sucks.

Nothing is stopping me from playing a Dwarf other than the fact that I have two other characters that take up my time. I don't know too much about their culture or how to do their accent but that wouldn't be hard to learn. If I ever decide to make another character someday I will definantly consider a Dwarf.

8/10 a fairly accurate representation of what I imagine America to be.

I have Storium, I just haven't had the time to try it yet though, hopefully when things get a bit quieter soon but id certainly be interested in a game
