  2. The Pérasmani League “It is an act of war, I do not see how you-” The lightly French-accented man was cut short mid sentence, his lips pursing as he was interrupted. “It’s an act of stupidity, Bruno.” The Archon coincided in words with his companion, then looked up from his desk towards the grizzled veteran, a look of amusement on his face. “They can’t possibly expect to win, not against our vessels or our people… They are dwarfed by us, simply put.” Bruno let out a short sigh as he turned about to look out the window of the estate, his eyes sweeping over the city of Limáni and its sprawling cityscape of red-tiled roofs. “You have always said to keep to the voice of reason, but I see no reason to partake with this offering. Surely, they will submit their terms and bend the will of Samalstraza against us.” Atreus looked to the Samalstrazan-stamped letter before him on the desk and took it in hand, idly reading it once over again as he spoke. “And if that is the case, we have no reason to agree with their parley. The Pérasmani League has stood for dozens of years by the support of others, whether it be our economic rebirth, or the controlling of underground markets, we have persevered. The Ishikawans will be no different; their cause is unjust, methods inhumane, and motives ill-suited for the continuation of peaceful trade within Fydor’s Sea.” Atreus mused for a moment as he placed the letter down, then shrugged his shoulders. “The last reason alone is enough for the Aldemaric League to join if they wish to keep their trade safe, and there are others that will see reason to our cause.” He rose to his feet, pulling the upper part of his tunic downwards to better fit his frame as he approached Bruno. The aforementioned captain turned to look at the man as he approached, his brows furrowed. “To underestimate the Ishikawans is a short trip to the grave, Atreus.” He muttered, feeling a brief tinge of pain pass through the stump that was at the end of his right arm. “It is not my first exchange with them, and I assume it will not be the last given the circumstances. But to not focus on them is something many Holders would deem unwise.” “The Holders care for profit, not ethics. As long as I say what they want to hear, all is well within the Gantry. What I do with those words is far beyond their decision; it is my own.” He then looked towards the doorway and began to step towards it. “Come, Cormac has sent for me about some new invention he’s found or something of the like. Maybe it’ll be better than the mist that he made last time.” Population: Sea of Fydor - 3,090,000 Resources: Gold (G) - 60,300 Income 60,300 Used 0 Stored Steel (S) - 3 Income 2 Used 1 Stored Army Production (AP) - 1 Income 1 Used Ship Production (SP) - 1 Income 1 Used Activity: Expenditures (31.5k C, 1 AP, 1 SP) - The equipment for 500 noble archers is produced and equipped, joining the garrison of the capital. (1 AP, 12k Gold [T3 Equipment, T1 Vet]) The starting foundations of a new mighty vessel are created in the capital, a new Carrack. The keel is laid by the end of the year, though not much else seems to be built. (1 SP [1/3 SP, 0/7k G]) Gold to Khrav for steel. (3k Gold) The dock in the east is rebuilt, due to the pesky asian boys that decided to blow it up. (10k G, 1 Dock) One heavy manufacturing building is established within the capital. (7.5k G, 1 HM) Mod (5, 20k Gold) - Fydor’s Bastion is deemed no longer insignificant. Rather, the mighty citadel begins to go under severe reconstruction and restoration! Mighty ballistas are planted on the walls overlooking the coasts, the main gate is refurbished and the following ones are replaced at each wall, as well as in the main entry to the keep. Any kind of previously worn damage is repaired to the best ability. (20k Gold) Sums of gold are traded to the Khrav in turn for their steel produce, though by the end of the year the Pérasmani men return looking for more steel to buy. Explorers head out across the east reaches of the cradle. They search for any coastal deposits of resources, foods, or other kinds of tradable goods. With the recent attack in the east, patrols are sent out around the east with the pair of Exousia vessels maintaining a defensive posture around it. Heading the efforts is Admiral Fedrano (11 Leadership), ensuring that the new city is properly defended from naval invaders. On board each of these vessels is a further 250 Nobles as crew, and 500 as means to occupy the castle in the east. Small vessels, barely seaworthy and only with enough size to fit no more than a 5-man crew and their belongings, are sent to the Sea of Chtor in an attempt to sneak past the Aetonian warlords blockade. Specifically with the efforts of establishing contact with the Aldermaric League with an offer. Research (9.8k C) - [PASSIVE SLOT 1 - Heavy Infantry] Big boys in armor. [2 Turns Remain] [T3 Water Spell - Kýma] The current effectiveness of the spells on hand are good but by no means the best. A new spell is conceptualized, though is on paper somewhat the same as the previous spell it is inspired by, simply more powerful yet more restrictive as to where it can be used. Rather than creating water from thin air, this spell works to manipulate pre-existing water into becoming incredibly unstable and similar to that of a swell in a storm. (9.8k G [9.8k G Invested])
  3. The Pérasmani League Go next MP. Population: Álympos Sector - 3,000,000 Resources: Gold (G) - 51,250 Income 50,000 Used 1,250 Stored Steel (S) - 0 Income 0 Used 0 Stored Army Production (AP) - 0 Income 0 Used Ship Production (RP) - 0 Income 0 Used Activity: Expenditures (40k C) - As trade bolsters in the League, the need for MORE arises. As such, two trade depots are constructed; one in Limáni and the second in Monopáti. (20k G, 2 Trade Depots [2/2]) Two docks are produced and subsequently put to work… Issue is that they have no steel to work with… This will be addressed. Naturally, one to each city. (20k G, 2 Docks [1-1]) Mod (4, 10k G) - While the settlers of the northern area continue their building, many more men head north aboard one of the mighty Exousia vessels the League has on hand. A total of 1000 men (750 citizens, 250 Noble Archers) make up the expedition as they move up the straight and find themself at a river’s beginning. Choosing not to waste the massive vessel as it needed elsewhere, they continue with smaller rafts up the river in search of anything remarkable. One keep is constructed,to the unknown northern mouth of the Cradle, to stake a claim. All who oppose the expansion would see the ever present Exousia vessels nearby, looming with a powerful presence. (10k G, 1 Keep) Diplomats are sent across the known world in search of potential trade partners, or perhaps some looking to trade goods such as steel or others. ((Buying steel/any other kinda special stuffs)) Yes, the ruins of Fydor’s Bastion. A once prideful, looming construct capable of withstanding siege after siege. Tales speak of it’s dense walls and expertly placed position to look across the island and its surrounding ocean. What lies within is unknown at the time, and as such 1,000 men (Noble Archers) are sent within to investigate for any squatters, or perhaps left-over equipment from those left behind. ((Specifically siege equipment, weaponry, armor, military gear, etc.)) Research (0) - [PASSIVE SLOT 1 - Heavy Infantry] Quantity at the sacrifice for quality has never been the way of the Pérasmani people. As such, the order to create heavier, sturdier, and more effective armor is given. Obviously, simply putting plates on top of more plates won't do much good. The men must be mobile, yet protected and bring forth a new age of infantry warfare. [1 Turn(s) Invested]
  4. Discord Name; Y’all ‘ready know who the **** it is Nation Name: League of Pérasma Government Type: Elective Republic (Oligarchy) Magic Type: Elemental - Water Tier 1 - “Xethoriázei” The spell is commonly used for disguising, shrouding, or blocking lines of sight of those across large bodies of water. It creates a mist, far too thick to see through unless directly passing through it. It can be used in applications such as enveloping a room with a dense fog. Tier 1 - “Vrochí” A rather insignificant, yet useful spell, it drastically increases the humidity and condensation of the affected area, raising the levels until it seems as if rain is simply appears from thin air before falling to the ground as it would during a storm. It can be from extinguishing a candle to putting out fires. Tier 2 - “Ekrixi” An ability akin to the fireball or lightning bolt of other elemental magics, it summons a blast of water not too unlike a geyser, capable of knocking heavily armored knights off balance. Leader: Duke of Dukes, Lord of the Trade, Granter of Gifts, Crowner of Kings, Destroyer of ****; Atreus Parthenos Culture: Grecian-based, Latin History: Originally set as what was supposed to be a sponsored expedition into the unknown, it soon came to be that the riches, materials, and simply the location of a previously unknown island were all too tempting for the Atem Empire to pass up on. Although not intended to be, those that were present on the expedition of the Sea of Fydor were soon converted to laborers, entrepreneurs, and ultimately the initial settlers of the island of Limáni, the largest of the islands within the Sea of Fydor. Acting as a central point of interest for those seeking cultural absolution, as well as a new avenue for their trade routes to pass through, Limáni became a hotspot of activity over the course of a few short years. The settling of surrounding islands soon followed, with settlements to the north, south, and east popping up with alarmingly prosperous results that nearly rivaled the initial boom of Limáni itself. Yet, even as the central island’s natural resources began to dwindle from what they once were, trade prospered through the islands inland cove that granted safe passage for a multitude of vessels from within the Far East region as well as some that had made their passage from the center of the continent just to reach the thriving trade of the now developed Limáni City. Alas, it was not meant to last. As the Empire faltered, and the vessels from the west began to dwindle in number, many left the prosperous city of Limáni in search of riches elsewhere in places that had not yet been tarnished by the withering corpse of the Atem Empire. A vast majority of the previously populated mainland settlements were all but abandoned as support from the Empire dwindled to nothing, though through it all the island of Limáni as well as Monopáti, to the east of Limáni, strived off of one another. Utilizing the connections to the remnants of the Empire on the mainland, particularly those on the eastern coast, the two islands merged under a single banner for the purpose of simplicity, though also to strengthen the bond between the two island-nations. With Limáni serving as the interior-trade corridor to the Sea of Chtor, while Monopáti prospered along the eastern coast to the Imperial remnants that still survived there, the newly founded League of Pérasma made its way into the next chapter of the story of the Far East Region. Key Figures: Archon, Atreus “The Young” Parthenos Atreus is the current reigning financial, governmental, and legislative leader of the Pérasmani League, or for simpler terms; Archon. The youngest of all time to be put into such a position at the mere age of thirty-four, the man has a knack for accumulating funds in short times, an ability which some say is borderline criminal as their own pockets are emptied from Atreus’ maneuvering of the economic system. For nearly a dozen years, Atreus served as little more than a Holder within the Gantry due to his financial status within the Pérasmani League’s upper society. Here, he began to gather support from others through, rather simply, bankrupting all of his competitors. Becoming one of the richest men on the island, and quite possibly in the entire Far East. Whilst whispering his name through the ears of any of those that he could, he also ran a powerful smuggling program through the city’s unsuspecting ports. With a hefty sum directly sent to the local militia, opposition was all but futile against the man who could simply buy you and everything you own for the sole purpose of sending a message. The man’s power began to be known by those around him, especially the man at the top; the Archon. Atreus’ sheer prowess with a quill, numbers, and juggling multiple deals at once impressed the Archon so much that, upon the natural death of the previous Minister of Trade, he was immediately motioned in with the approval of the legislature to fill the position. For only a handful of years after, Atreus served as the Minister of Trade and gathered support among the Holders, eventually winning the vote by a titanic landslide when the Archon passed and a replacement was needed. [3 Leadership, 1 Martial, 6 Charisma, 0 Arcane, 3 Agility] Ser, Bruno “The Crow” LeBlanc-Routière The standing military leader of the League, as well as High-Captain of the ‘Archontas’ Royal Guard. He was originally intended as the military leader of the expedition sent to the Sea of Fydor, though soon after found himself as the local militia leader of the now-capital city of Limáni. After decades of service to the local militia, as well as gaining the attention of those close to the crown, he was promoted and sent further inland to assist with guard duties of the Emperor himself. Though, upon the dissolving of the Atem Empire, Bruno decidedly returned to the trade-port of Limáni. He was soon openly embraced by the newly elected Archon, Atreus, of the League of Pérasma, who he had served for many years as a private detective of any missing goods from the Archon’s previous trade endeavours within the city. [6 Leadership, 3 Martial, 3 Charisma, 0 Arcane, 1 Agility] Salazar “The Luxurious” Ferrell Serving as the current Minister of Trade, the position second to only the Archon within the government in terms of monetary management as retrospectively treated as the heir of the Archon, the boisterous man they call “The Luxurious” spends no expense when it comes to living his life lavishly. A famed trader across the eastern coasts of the Far East, as well as a notable smuggler within the internal Sea of Chtor, Salazar found himself at wits end with the Aldemaric League more than once in his life through his escapades. Whilst drinking away his fortunes of a successful plunder, and telling tales of barely slipping under the Aldermaric’s nose, Salazar found himself a friend with the current Minister of Trade, Atreus Parthenos. Little did he know that this friendship would blossom, becoming eventual travel and business partners around and within the city of Limáni. This friendship seemed to pay off in the long run and, as expected, the Minister of Trade was moved into the Archon position of the League as voted by the legislature. Soon after, Salazar was summoned to the Gantry for yet another vote which his dear friend Atreus quite aggressively lobbied for due to the close 31-28 vote which took majority in his favor and instated Salazar as the Minister of Trade. [2 Leadership, 2 Martial, 7 Charisma, 0 Arcane, 2 Agility] Cormac “The Hung” Siltrenos The son to a drunken father and a tavern wench, Cormac led a life which many would rather not endure. Hardships were common, whether it be to scrounge for gold at the end of the week to pay taxes or to simply have something to eat at the end of the night, it was all too common for the man who now resides as the resident Archoniac Speaker, as well as High Hydromancer of the mage’s guild within the Pérasmani League. How he came to such a position was a rather convoluted one. First to learn the arcane at a young age through mages travelling through his mother’s tavern, most of his learning came from a codex he had stolen from one of the sleeping magic users who had studied the ways of Hydromancy. Luckily for him, there was plenty of water to practice around his town with minimal interference from others. From there, he became a ward of the man who would become the next Archoniac Speaker. Learning from him in the ways of charisma, woo’ing, and haggling, Cormac raised through the ranks of both the government and newly formed Mage’s Guild within Limáni and eventually found himself in the same seat that his mentor held only a few years earlier. Outfitted with some of the highest quality equipment one can find on the capital island, several years of training in the martial arts, and the promise of big money when they return from battle, the Pérasmani take pride in landing the first hits of any engagement from afar before engaging with their arms and armor. [200 for 1 AP + 2,500 gold (T3 equipment, T1 veterancy)] ‘Archontas’ Royal Guard (Special Heavy Pike Infantry) A hearty, indomitable, and elegant force. The King’s Guard, nicknamed the ‘Archontas’ in their native tongue, is beyond the best the League could find in terms of infantry. Each fiscal year that passes, thousands of citizens within the League attempt to pass the trials of the ‘Archontas’ in an attempt to stand beside the Archon himself. Set over the course of months, specific tasks are given to the men and women of the trainees in an effort to root out those that are weak of will or dedication to the League. The lengths of which these trainees will go to complete their quest is measured and assessed; ranging from bribery, debauchery, blackmail, and the occasional murder, the ‘Archontas’ are by far one of the most ruthless military groups within the Far East with their ferocity in battle only being matched by their undying loyalty to their Archon. [50 for 1 AP + 2,500 gold (T3 equipment, T1 veterancy)] ‘Exousía’ Floating Fortress (Heavy boarding vessels) A titanic warship of nearly incomparable size, the ‘Exousía’ is a converted trade ship turned mobile fortress used primarily as a boarding vessel. It is capable of carrying upwards of 1,000 men on board in it’s multi-decked hull. Though also used for long range engagements with its ballistas, the primary focus of the vessel is albeit to ram, disable, and board enemy vessels. With its lower ‘layer’ of decks being lined with metal sheeting to protect against arrows, fire, and some ballistas, the vessel is surely strong enough for any close naval engagement. Despite looking to be a top-heavy listing vessel, the tri-keel design of the ship keeps it sturdy in even the deepest, roughest of waters. 5. The Ymorian Collective Throughout the stars, society always places a value on specific traits above others. Some value courage, for others it is the ability to wield a blade, or to put others needs above your own. The Ymorians are no different, for they see the desire of knowledge as the greatest quest any of them may take. Whether it is to learn to benefit themselves, others, or those who have yet to arrive, the Ymorians take pride in all aspects of learning regardless of the means needed to obtain this knowledge. Although not far from their predecessors in their primitive rite of passage, the modern Ymorians take from their ancestors in their desire to go further than any that have gone before them. An innate, insatiable desire that drives the Ymorians to gain more of whatever it is they may have. To exemplify these desires, or rather in an effort to temporarily sedate them, a pilgrimage of immense magnitude is put in play. Upon reaching maturity, or when they are physically capable, members of the Ymorian society are expected to take a trek to any part of the world in expectancy of finding a land untouched by previous visitors. It is then, so long as they return with proof of being there through the possession of wildlife or minerals from that place, that the person is brought into the Ymorian society in full and honored as a citizen. Those who fail return to life, as they have missed their opportunity and are deemed ineligible for citizenship. They go on as servitors, laborers, and other low-expectancy jobs while the full citizens are granted their freedom to proceed in any kind of field they wish. 6. The Ymorian Collective National Activity: Álympos, the homeworld of what would become the Ymorian peoples was little more than a moon dominated by the extremes of nature; mountainous terrains as if shaped specifically for the purpose of repelling settlers from landing on its surface, or oceans that often overflowed from their beaches as a result of the gravitational tides of the local Gas Giant, Mármaro. Yet, despite the odds of near total extinction that would bring many species to keel such as several mass extinctions from the near total destruction of entire ecosystems from rapid tectonic activity, the Ymorians persevered. The early ancestors of the Ymorians were theorized to have been evolved from sea-dwelling, squid-like invertebrates that had grown to become amphibious and utilized the rapid shifting tides to feed upon the natural minerals of the mountainous terrains. Through their years of adoption to living on land, the Ymorian’s ascestors found their homes not on the grounds, yet atop the peaks where the oceans tides could not reach them and where these minerals had become most abundant. It was here that the first ancestors of the modern Ymorians, the Ap’Oikos (meaning “First of his kin” in Ymorian), made their homestead. Many believe this is where the foundations of their innate curiosity came from. Whether it was the scaling of mountains for further food sources or the exploration of caves just below the water’s surface, it soon became a way of life for the Ap’Oikos to venture further, higher, and deeper in order to survive as their population grew. As hundreds of thousands of years passed, evolution ran its course as it did for billions of species across the galaxy. Sub-species began to sprout, the most dominant quickly becoming the vertebrate-gifted Xader’Fia (meaning “Cousin” in Ymorian) who prayed on the far weaker, non-vertebrate, subspecies of Ap’Oikos. It was only a matter of time until they were driven from their natural habitat high on the mountains and eventually to complete extinction (the most common preparation of the hauls of these hunts was to coat the Ap’Oikos in grain and fry them in natural, super-heated oil deposits). It was these Xader’Fia that lead the way for what eventually became the Ymorians, distinctively becoming stronger, smarter, and more attuned to the way of living on land than their predecessors. The use of tools, relative thinking, and finally a set of fully developed limbs was the next leg of the Xader’Fia’s evolutionary track onto becoming the modern Ymorians. The very foundations of society for the Ymorians began here; the step from Xader’Fia to Ymorian. Taking from their ancestors, the Ap’Oikos, a trial was conducted of all Ymorians in their efforts to become a member of society. Atop the highest peaks grew a precious mineral caused by a mixture of the high pressures, extreme temperatures, and unique climate of the planet. It was a token, not only a display of the physical necessities to reach the summit, but the strive to go further than they had gone before whilst remaining as a reminder of where they had come from as a species, and a desire to know where they will go next. As the modern Ymorians came to existence, they soon expanded their reach not only into, but above the mountains they had called home for hundreds of millenia. A population explosion following countless breakthroughs in medicinal, engineering, and other fields of research brought their world of Álympos to near-critical mass. The natural explorers sought more from not only their world, yet others around them. Roudimetrary space-faring vessels began routine trips around Mármaro, returning with hefty bounties of minerals from asteroid belts and the giant itself, as well as more often than not, with far less crew than they had set out with. Yet the explorative Ymorians were not satisfied with landing on mere moons or asteroids and had their sights set for the glinting stars light years away. These desires were soon satisfied as along came the greatest of any of their discoveries; Faster-Than-Light travel. From that point on, their world and the galaxy it was in became little more than their personal playground as the Ymorians took to the stars in search of new lands, minerals, and, inevitably, civilizations. (Discord) The Stone-Faces Powerful fire pots indeed, by the end of the year the Tribals find themselves blessed by those above as they find a way to NOT set themselves on fire, but rather the enemy! (T1 Explosives) They try to head east… but they realize there’s a lake there. Guess they’ll head west! But they realize there’s nothing there but empty buildings. Morgan’s Rifles Research goes well, or as well as they could. Now with the Dale assisting their research, they gain quite the boost in their technology. (+4 R) The Sky Reavers Sturdier pipe rifles are quite something of an achievement. Perhaps some of these weapons found from the Dale would be of use to their research… The men find little to their south. Nothing but some scavengers who do indeed take their weaponry for a couple of caps, but nothing too significant. (-25 T1 Gunpowder, -5 T1 Heavy Gunpowder, +250 Caps)
  11. The Antebellum Corporation National Activity: “And what are our options?” The room was cold; and not from the under-achieving draft that crept in through the air duct. With the impending threat of a sudden invasion from the invaders to the west, operations of the Corporation were temporarily relocated far below the grounds of The Spire. Running both a multi-billion credit company and managing a war front wasn’t exactly what Magnus had in mind when he took to the stars. The thoughts of venturing the stars and seeing the wonders of the galaxy were far from the reality he found himself in. And now this… intrusion was all but another complication on the ever-growing list of vexes for the Greek. “Military interdiction would surely be cause for retaliation, though it would be an advisable action due to their crippl-” The man was cut off by the booming voice of Magnus which echoed about the silver-paneled room, the only light of which was the glowing hologram before the gathering of men that surrounded it. “Military interdiction!? Are you aware of our current predicament, Ser? The enemies are BANGING at our gates!” Magnus slammed his fist on the table with each word he spoke of his final sentence, “And you wish for us to open a SECOND front with a species we have no correlation with? Wh-who we have never even see face to face!?” “Our previous experiences have proven peace and prosperity is… perhaps not relevant, within the vastness of space.” Magnus sneered before turning his back on the table and crossing his arms over his chest. He stared at the reflection in the panel before him; a good hard look to be sure. “And what of the Protorians? The Zyrka? Even those chamber-pots Tassarians who never reply to our communications are examples of peace and prosperity, Ser! Why, just within this month the Protorians had struck against those-those fiends to the west with us! They are our allies, Ser! Persons whose intellect that stretch far greater than that god-forsaken stripe across your upper lip!” Magnus turned about only to see the entire table staring at him. He slowly looked around himself at each and every one of them, then nodded slowly as he came to a conclusion. “This party is dismissed. Indefinitely.” “Your thirty seconds begin… Now.” The man before Magnus fumbled with himself for a moment, though eventually began to swipe through the carefully constructed powerpoint that was meant to highlight the ingenuity and genius of the newly developed rifle. “Oh, well. Uh, sir. Yes. Okay, almost…” And finally, the right slide, “Twenty seconds.” “Decimal Arms! Always ahead of the competition! Eugh, uh… The Jackhammer is a state of the art weapon platform that seamlessly combines power, accuracy, and speed. Developed from our award-winning LMR platform, the Jackhammer is one of the most advanced weapon systems soon to be available on the market to date. Like all of our previous products from the LMR lineups-” “Ten.” “-The Jackhammer fires armor-penetrating fin-stabilized rounds made out of high-density alloys like magnetized tungsten carbide, though alternatives such as depleted uranium are also available. With the latest advancements in-” “Five.” “-conductive rail technology we are capable of boosting the muzzle velocity from Mach 6 to Mach 8 (9002 feet per second). It’ll punch right through the toughest power armor like it’s made out of paper. Not to mention the patented assisted aiming modu-” “Done,” Magnus spoke as he stared across the words sprawled out before him on the tablet. He then looked back up to the man, his head tilting slightly to the side in interest, “And when did you say this will be on the market?” “Two to fifteen years, sir!” There was little to hope for in the Corporation. Activity: Civilian (100k C) - Further business investment on all worlds. (100k C) [6/15 CI] Two exploration vessel go to the far reaches of the south west, far past the currently explored space that was done by the Fusion-driven vessels long ago. (Mod) The shipment of alloys come in, and the credits go out. All as planned. (15k C, +10 A) These foreign cyclops squatters are sent a series of videos. The image is a welcoming one, showing a transport vessel landing on an Antebellum world which pans out to the great cityscape and business sectors of the planet, then two men meeting on such a landing pad to commune with one another. It then shows the same video, though this time with the man being swapped out for a Protorian, a Zyrka, and a Tassarian. (Mod) Military (48 M, 9 A) - Three support carriers, along with an entourage of fighter escorts and one light cruiser enter production. (48 M) A research vessel is sent west to scout for possible assault targets belonging to the Ascardians. (Mod) Research (28 RP, 9k C) - Very good news for the Corporation indeed! Another breakthrough is imminent, according to the experts. As such, more funds are diverted to the program. (15 RP [40 Invested]) The competition is heating up! Another 9 THOUSAND credits are added to the prize pool for an additional boost of morale for the participants! (13 RP, 10k C [16 RP, 19k C Invested])

  13. Turn 5 (2175) The sounds of war; thunderous tremors, cries of sorrow, the snap of a bullet. The factions around the downtown area of the Mud City begin to hear more commotion coming from the heart of the city. Each day it grows more intense; explosions, gunfire, and hums of revving engines. ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL Research goes well for the men of the Rock. Some of them seem to have at least some experience with fashioning some old fashioned molotovs. But mass-producing them may be an issue. The men find little resistance in their newly acquired block. The bikes are not needed, at least for this expansion. A dignitary is sent to the northwest, returning with news that the Caravan may be open to negotiations. (Cleared to talk to Sneaky) Brotherhood of Steel Expedition The can grenades come along swimmingly. By the end of the year they have not only a working prototype, but one that can be produced. (T2 Explosives) Some of these men and women seem to be at least slightly capable. Some of them explain their backgrounds as being from a local vault within Chicago or being descendants of those that lived there. The ones that are denied put up some resistance, though, after some ‘negotiation’ from the end of a laser rifle, they disperse and head north. (+21 Advanced Pop) Wrigley field is somewhat cleaned up. The left over seats are taken out to make it easier to move around, but there is still much work to do to make it into a fortress. The Republic of Riverdale A research agreement they shall have. The Riverdalians do well with their new armor, looking both fashionable and being well protected. Each piece is guaranteed to be “Wahlberg Approved”. (T2 Armor) Morgan’s Rifles The men encounter the Reavers once again as they expand, but they are quickly dispatched. The artillery research is far off from anything that would be considered a WMD, but in these times a large slingshot could be considered a WMD… (T1 Artillery) Heavy firearms are a welcome addition. Seeing their brethren in the Riverdale using them to dispatch the Reavers was reason enough to improve their own. Ronto Ratmen Molotovs make tummy hurty, but they also make other people burny. (T1 Explosives) The men find themselves lower in numbers coming back from their patrols. Only a few have disappeared, however. (-5 Raider population) It seems they have hit the jackpot, or rather the jackpot hit them. From the south, several hundred weary and disheveled looking settlers wander upon the Ratmen’s warren and are summarily rounded up and put to work. (+280 Civ population) Army of the Northwest The men return with reports of sightings of multiple ‘disorganized’ camps to their direct east, as well as their northeast. The northern block to their expansion is seemingly barren, though several patrols of raiders would’ve been reported. Joseph finds himself with a VERY capable rifle by the end of the year, truly a masterpiece to spread the good will of the lord democracy. (T2 Gunpowder firearms) With the recent breakthrough of the T2 firearms, making a lesser version of them but just bigger is all too easy for Joseph. (T1 Gunpowder heavy weapons) The Stone-Faces The tribe does well with not blowing themselves up, but as for actually making something that blows up their target is another thing entirely. Blood-Mother finds little to worry about as they occupy the territory. Stone-Father finds that the door is impenetrable by both conventional and spiritual means. It would require much more willpower and much more technology to begin to break through this door. The Headsman finds little else around them, it seems they have free reign over the territory. The Sky Reavers The grenades are a great idea, so great that the focused minds of the Reavers find a way to create them by the end of the year. (T2 Explosives) The Rust Barony The new block is secured with little troubles for the Feetmen. Though they do seem to find some traces of others that had been there before. Throughout the block are large camps that have been seemingly abandoned. Wizzo is chief of the Wisdom. His mighty thinking hut brews and stirs as new engines of carrying on Duke Duke’s divine will begin to flourish in his mind. (+3 R) Not the most civilized of approaches, but they continue to approach nonetheless. (Discord) Duke Duke requires many training sessions to get any bigger, but the drive of impressing the tribeswomen is reason enough. (+1 Strength, +1 Agility) CHICAGO ENGINEERS UNION Hughes determines that the entire engine section of the locomotive is to be refurbished and replaced for it to begin working again. Along with the already damaged suspension and rail system. The carriages are a great find for the Union, bringing forth many extra materials at the cost of more locomotive cars. (+10 M) Chaos is the only word to describe the block to the east. Almost as soon as the men cross the bridge that leads to the eastern block, they come under fire from several rooftops of low buildings, and even from the over-city above. It is clear that they are not welcomed here. (-1 Population, -1 T1 Power Armor) Finding any kind of improvement to the already efficient scrap yards is a stretch. The use of machinery is needed; machinery that they have neither the technology nor the fathomable designs for.
  14. Turn 4 (2174) So many bits and pieces to put back together. What’ll be the end result of all this? Ghostly figures wander the west. Any sign of light sends them scrambling for the shadows, their only common factor between them being a pair of dim neon-green dots reflecting back at whoever spots them. Western Brotherhood Expedition The beast is put down, but at what cost? The men north complete their task, though with losses aplenty. (Discord) The scribes find some old tin cans and some firecrackers. Primitive, obviously, but maybe they’re on the right path... More wasters. The same numbers trickle in early in the year, but near the end of the year, a steady populace begins to stroll down the coastline towards the Brotherhood expedition, some now begging and seeking refuge or treatment for their wounds and empty bellies. The Stone-Faces More of the same as last time. All that seems to be here is old machinery, with very little to actually pick from. Though one of the Stone-Faces seemingly found quite the prize. Far below in the basement of the museum stands a heavy-set metal door, seemingly untouched since the bombs dropped. The Sky Reavers Can grenades are a great idea, given their already growing surplus of empty cans and seemingly rampant growth of explosive materials in the camp? The men come to the south, only to find that the area was seemingly cleared already. Several dead animals lay around, but the land is up for grabs. The Republic of Riverdale Twenty-five men go out, twenty-four return. Odd seeing as everyone could’ve sworn they had everyone with them. Upon retracing their steps, they can only find a spare rifle. (-1 Population) The scouts report back with some troubling news; the raiders that were described to them by Morgan’s Rifles are seemingly expanding to their south. Research goes steadily, but no breakthroughs are made. Strapping pieces of tanned leather does some good for the Riverdalians fashion, but making it properly protect the person wearing it is still an issue. Trade deal with Morgan. (+250 C) Immigration. (+11 Advanced Population) Ronto Ratmen The Ratking finds some lads and gets some costly loot. The boys that venture around the area seem to find a few stragglers. A few beg for their lives. They shall keep their lives but in SHACKLES! (+10 Civ Population) Clubbing is quite a primitive way of killing things. Why not… club things from afar? With a slingshot! ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL Machine Guns would be a great help for the men of the Rock. Charles seemingly knows this and works day and night to try to make something presentable, unfortunately, he’s just not close enough once he gets to the end of the year. (+1 R) The men patrolling the borders of the Airport begin filing in some troubling reports. The encampment is seemingly being stalked by someone, the number of scouts is unknown, however. CHICAGO ENGINEERS UNION The men find… something resembling a train. After some inspection, they find it is in no working condition without some major repairs. The side paneling is gone and scrapped, the transmission is almost totally destroyed, and several of the cars are dislodged from the track and laying against the sidewall of the tunnels. Training goes well. Heavy firearms are easily brought to the production lines, and soon enough to the tunnels of Chicago. The men just can’t figure it out what exactly you do with a rag, a lighter, and a bottle of alcohol. It’s just a mystery. Morgan’s Rifles The men easily clear the area with their handy dandy rifles. No wildlife seems to bother them any longer. Trade agreement. (+300 C) Immigration treaty with the River-Dale. (+50 Civilized Population) The Rust Barony Wizzo’s magic fizzles away with no blessing from the spirits this year. What’s the point of a magic-man who has no magic... Brogwad’s journeys are still quite far off. Although he wasn’t able to find the source of these squiggles, he was able to find something else. Set in what remains of the park to their north resides an encampment, seemingly inhabited by several hundred men and women. To the south, Duke Duke stakes his claim on an area. It seemed he wasn’t quite watching where he was walking as he fell into a PIT OF DESPAIR! Upon closer inspection, this pit seems to go on forever. Duke Duke deems it worthy of an adventure, but many more feet-men would be needed to journey its vastness. Army of the Northwest It seems their push to the north and onto the highway has angered… someone. (Discord) The men of the Northwest begin to cycle in some reports to their higher-ups of sightings of someone, or something venturing around the perimeter of their grounds. Whenever they approach to inspect, there’s nothing. Some men even report disappearances of the inexperienced soldiers within their squads after sentry duty. (-4 Population)

  16. Turn 3 (2173) Chaos stirs within the heart of The Mud City. Quite the amount of commotion for a city that’s supposedly abandoned... Morgan’s Rifles The men find little of anything to the east. A few radroaches, a couple of odd-looking birds, but nothing too dangerous that a few rounds of ammunition couldn’t fix. The delegation heads west… (Discord) The heavy firearms come out nicely, quite the improvement and could have been very useful in the previous battle. It seems quite tricky to make anything with the resources they have. That is until one of the thinkers of the group spots someone using a slingshot on some empty cans… Army of the Northwest Trained they are, and now following orders to the letter. The Army of the Northwest becomes more militarized by the year. The radios are a welcome addition. After all, communication does always help on the battlefield. To the north, they find little to nothing aside from a few straggling ghouls. Though to the east, it is a different story. They spot several persons coming down the old highway, a few stragglers and some entire families, seemingly fleeing from the city. None of them wait to be questioned, nor do they stop to beg. They simply leave the city. Even better firearms!? The Army of the Northwest already has the best, do they not? Admitting otherwise could be seen as a weakness… Isaac grows more and more popular by the day. It seems he’s pretty good at this preaching stuff. [+1 To Charisma] Brotherhood of Steel Expedition For once, the scribes do something right. (T1 Explosives) And yet, they come again… Wait. They aren’t armed… Matter of fact, they’re going around and heading further north... Goldman’s Caravan More training, better shooting, and certainly more assurance among the men of what they’re doing when they have a gun in their hands. It seems they have a lucky break as Damien returns with the news; the block to their south is open and free of wildlife. It seemed the wildlife of the other block carried over. An infestation of critters of all shapes and sizes plagues the streets of the block to the north. Sarabeth finds the way of the rifle easier to comprehend than farming and agriculture. (T1 Heavy Gunpowder) [+1 To Intelligence] ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL The men of the Rock seem to put some of the pieces of the engine to good use. By the end of the year, their motorcycles are flying across the airfield faster than ever. Trouble is, taking apart an engine has its dangers, specifically when someone misplaces a key structure component, and it can’t be found. At least they still have the other engine to work off of… The men head east, and do return, yet bloodied and beaten. Although the block is secured, a foul ghoul infestation nearly took the lives of all the men that were dispatched to the block. Thankfully, ranged weaponry is better than kicking and scratching as the ghouls did. (-15 Population) [+1 To Perception - Stergis] The Ironclaws The boys return with a few souvenirs, a couple of pelts from some oversized rats they found in a few houses. Overall, a job well done, and a block cleared. Zeria does a decent enough job with the research. Soon enough, new weapons are being made in the forges. (T2 Melee) Sakain doesn’t mind much to improve. After all, how could you improve something that’s already quite the avid killing machine? The scouting party north reports back with little interesting information. The block is clear. The Sky Reavers It’s hard to cross a river that only has one bridge… Perhaps just… going around could work? Bean cans, high explosive, and people who have no clue what a fuse is. What could go wrong? The Republic of Riverdale The men in the north return back home, unharmed and quite full of themselves for a job well done. The west seems to be quiet... for now... ThreeDaysGrace-Riot.mp3 (T1 Explosives) The Rust Barony Wizzo’s powers seem to have run dry. There are no spirits today. These squiggles are much further than they look! It seems they come in and out from the dock to their north, disappearing and once more appearing! WHAT IS THIS SORCERY!??!?!?!?!?!? A thinking hut Wizzo shall have. Although there are no dragons, there were many ‘small’ bugs, yet they were no match for the might of Duke Duke! Ronto Ratmen All is well for the Ratmen, aside from the occasional person walking by and wanting nothing to do with the Ratmen of the north.
  17. Turn 2 (2172) The Mud City stirs with activity. So many bodies, so little time. The Sky Reavers A great raid indeed. (Discord) Ratchet makes it quite easy to love him when he keeps making such great murder-kill devices. (T2 Melee) Cool guys don’t look at explosions. And these raiders certainly want to be cool guys. Their can-grenade ideas only get so far. The issue is finding what to put into these cans to make them bigger, and the enemy more dead-er. Brotherhood of Steel Expedition Heavy laser weapons do sound nice. And with the growing threat of janitorial duty, they certainly do their best. (T1 Heavy Lasers) To the west, Wrigley field seems like a worthy location of expansion. But oddly enough, animals always seem to go in… but never come back out. The north is empty from sentient life, save for a few mole-rat lairs and the occasional rad-roach under the rug. The men train and they train, and they train. Until one day, the bells ring across the settlement. (Discord) ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL The bikes are… usable. By no means efficient, but they can certainly get you from point A to point B in a jiffy. (T1 Cars) With such limited resources, there’s very little to be done with the engine. A few parts seem to be missing from either one, but most of them can be found on the other to construct at least one fully working engine. Sharing seems to work for the men of the Rock. By the end of the year, each man is able to hit at least one target before the sun goes down. The men head east, with very little to be found other than a few abandoned campsites. An easy claim for the men of Rock Island. All radio channels are static. Whether it’s that no one wants to answer, or simply that there is no one to answer to calls is unknown. The Republic of Riverdale The men continue their training, hopefully, they can actually shoot straight this time. Denzel heads west with many dangers before him. (Discord) Heavy arms continue to be buffed out. Until they can be buff no longer. (T1 Heavy Weapons) The Ironclaws The eastern scouts report little to nothing. No activity of any kind around them, though they do hear plenty of gunshots coming from the neighborhood to the far south. Some work still needs to be done on more pokey-stab things to use. But people will certainly regret having faced these men in close combat. Army of the Northwest Coordination indeed. With that many caps, people were fully invested into what was being taught throughout the year. The eastern block is claimed, with minimal interference as well. Better firearms? Now, this is starting to sound like an army… Only issue is actually knowing how to make these firearms. Trying to find one that meets the needs of the men, as well as being able to deal a heavy blow with each shot seems to be an issue. Morgan’s Rifles The party west comes back with troubling news. It seems they are surrounded on either side by wastelanders. Though, these ones don’t look as unbathed as the ones to the east. The border is secured. Other than the attempted Raider invasion, nothing else occurs within the year. Molotovs are a wonderous thing. Light, easy to carry, and certainly volatile. (T1 Explosives) Heavy firearms are quite the undertaking. Then again, how hard can it be? Just make the old guns… Bigger. The Stone-Faces A great land for the Stone-Face men. And plenty of grounds for tributes for the Stone-Fathers. Stone-Father find no good tool-things. Many plastic bottles. Stone-Father disapproves of littering. The Rust Barony Wizzo’s rituals and many followers seem to do some good. The powers of the divines work through Wizzo, and by the end of the year, Wizzo may have found a possible replacement for the weapons of the tribe… That is, until it breaks apart in his hand. (+5 R to T3 Melee) Brogwad doesn’t seem to find much. Merely a few trash cans filled with the waste of the old world. Though, down the coast, he does notice some quickly moving squiggles in the distance. Duke Duke, The Duke of Duke, land of THE Duke, finds himself bed ridden for several days following the eating of one of his new fishy friends. The spirits laugh at him from above. Goldman’s Caravan The men return with some troubling news. It seems the wildlife has taken over that section of the block that was scouted. Countless mole-rats, even some Yao Guai’s that roamed the streets and created a den within one of the homes. It seemed this block was in need of some serious pest control. More research, but little luck. Plants could grow much easier if it hadn’t been for the toxic soil that now makes up the ground. If there was only a way of removing such toxins… Training some caravan guards sounds quite beneficial. Afterall, the goods are the most important part of the caravan.

  19. Turn 1 (2171) The rediscovery of Chicago has brought travelers from across the continental States together. Many of these settlers claim The Mud City as their own. Though only time will tell who will rule. Morgan’s Rifles A rather eerily quiet year for the Regiment. Men begin to wonder how they can live off the land and eventually find their tin-coated ration packs make for good enough knives if cut the right way. (T2 Melee) Some men could’ve sworn they saw someone walking around the eastern parts of the docks. It looked like they needed a shower. Badly. The Republic of River-dale A generous offer from their El Presidente. The men take the caps eagerly, as work is sparse. A total of 200 men begin their training within the walls of the River-Dale throughout the year. By the time winter comes around, some of the men actually hit their targets, even with their scrappily made pipe rifles. The men find that simply putting a bigger barrel in a gun isn’t as easy as it sounds. More work will need to be done to create a heavy weapon to fit the needs of their soldiers. Army of the Northwest A groundbreaking discovery for the “Army” of the Northwest! Joseph’s engineering background seems to have done some good in the research department. (T1 Gunpowder Firearms) The men sent to scout the local blocks soon find themselves between a rock and a hard place. Early on in their scouting, they find a nest of Mole Rats to the direct west of their current settlement. One estimates are in the thousands, though that is only from a hysterical recruit unprepared for the wasteland. To their north, they find a clique of feral ghouls, their minds long since shattered from the test of time. To their east, nothing. Picked clean of any useful resources and devoid of life. The most interesting find comes late in the year, in the block directly south of them. Seemingly a campground with dozens of corpses, all of them bare and devoid of any kind of valuables, but clearly human and very fresh. The Stone-Faces The men sent north have nothing of interest to report on. Their scouting of the museum returns with reports of some nearly ancient machinery, long since past their time of usefulness to anyone. The Sky Reavers To the north, Isabel finds nothing. An open territory, ripe for the taking. The west holds a different story. Some of the Reavers return with sightings of some kind of a military presence in the old industrial docks. Not many men, not even half as many rifles. A prime raiding target, perhaps? Brotherhood of Steel Expedition The scribes do their best to create something to show to the Paladins, but only end up with broken parts and something resembling a blow dart gun… How uncivilized. ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL The researchers use what knowledge they have to attempt to recreate what they find in pictures of old motorcycles. The framework is quite easy, merely getting an engine that small to effectively power the machine seems to be an issue. Harry and his squad don’t seem to find anything out of the usual. The chain-link fences that usually surround the perimeter have been torn to shreds, letting not only wildlife but possibly any curious survivors freely roam in and out of the airfield. From a quick survey, the airfield is somewhat barren. Planes that used to be airworthy are now nothing more than simple skeletons sitting next to the terminals, picked clean of any electronics and heavy metals. However, by some divine intervention, they do manage to find, although the fuselage rusted and worn away, a civilian-grade passenger plane. It doesn’t look airworthy, as parts of the tail and wings are missing, though the engines don’t seem to be in too bad of condition... Old Chicago The northern block is taken with ease. There were some rad-roaches, which gave a few of the lads some gnarly and potentially radioactive nibbles, but nothing serious. The southern block is a bit more hard-fought for. A small band of raiders, no larger than a couple of dozen, seemed to have made their home there. Upon seeing the large group of armed Pizza-boys coming down the street, they put up some resistance before being overwhelmed by the Chicagoans numbers. After a speedy getaway, they left behind a small stache of stolen goodies to pick from. (Both territories are taken, +2 S, +10 T1 Gunpowder Firearms, -25 Population) Molotovs; easy to make, not safe to drink. (T1 Explosives) There is much work to be done to upgrade their current firearms, but at least they have a few hastily-drawn designs on some napkins they found at a local diner. Goldman’s Caravan Damien and his team stumble upon what seemed to be a ‘den’ of sorts for a small band of feral ghouls. If not for the keen eye of Damien, one of the men would have fallen right into the den. They return home, one of the men being a little more thankful for his life before heading to bed. Research for a drastic improvement is far off. Although Sarahbeth has quite a background in science and studies, it is hard to improve what has already been near-perfected for thousands of years. The Rust Baron Wizzo pokes finger in wrong hole. Wizzo get shock. Wizzo stab shock-hole. Wizzo no like shock-holes now. Brogwad finds himself in the grounds of what seemed to be an old outdoor aquarium. Many of the fish seem to have died long ago as the water is spoiled to an earthy green color with hundreds of small skeletons floating above the muck. Duke would find himself far within the aquarium, and although not finding a large table to call his own, he would instead find a partially bombed-out section of the Aquarium that’s roof gave way to the sunlight and directly into one of the aquariums. An entire ecosystem, isolated on its own, although slightly irradiated as the Clown Fish have now turned purple among many other alterations from what the signs show these creatures looked like nearly two hundred years ago.
