It's not that the concept behind what your saying is bad; But branching it off as an "LOTC series" sort of thing. That part is not a good idea to me. Players are going to choose one or the other. You would have some staying here and some leaving. Eventually one *could* end up smaller and fading away. It's a risky shot. The idea would be good if you were to start a whole different server with a different name. You could still have some of the same aspects as LOTC, but I would build up a new community rather than taking from this one.

Rule or not. I would ban someone for doing that period. That's why I'm not a mod lol.

This will lead to "You can't do that!" during gameplay. Especially since the list "goes on and on"

I honestly don't think it's really about what people want. It has more to do with the unneeded negativity that comes with it's perks. I can tell you that since the removal, I have not had to see complaining and other negativity right on the front page. Now, all that crap has to be in threads which i can choose to look at. It feels more like a relief when you don't have to see people wanting attention over something ridiculous, or staying off the site just so you are not tempted to read it. At the same time, the staff gets lots of bashing from status updates. This will also keep people's dramatic problems personal, and they can't drag others into it. To conclude, I think it's more of a "This is for your own good whether you like it or not. We need to see how this will turn out" and the voting was just to see what the community would think that way the staff wouldn't be surprised at this big uproar. It's also much easier for the staff. this isn't their Job it's more of a community service, and I can tell you, they got a lot more patience with this community than I would. That's why I never tried to be a GM lol. Trust me, I'm sure they already knew what sacrifices would come with this (Advertisements, quick questions, interesting/funny stuff) but in comparison, those are not huge things to lose, most servers don't have status updates, and the ones that have something like it, the players don't use it for much other than arguing. Those polls were also most likely a hope that people would agree with removing them. Many of the decisions made by the community have lead to trouble and it took a long time for the server to recover from those decisions (Like removing villain apps. "Oh all it does is test how good of a story teller you are..." RP is all about story telling, and being a villain puts you in a position where you can have dictation over another player. It's easy to anger a player doing this if done wrong, you NEED to be a good story teller to be a villain, but it was removed, and thankfully things have gotten better) The community has never really had the best decision makers either. But in the end, they did say it's temporary, so we will have to wait and see.

It's unnecessary and not professional? What we say on the server effects first impressions of new guests to the server, and some people simply don't like it. It doesn't matter to me personally. Words are just words used to describe things without having to make a huge paragraph, but everyone is raised differently. in the end it's about manners I suppose.

Maybe people would actually think about what they posted if they knew they could get -1. People like to protect their reputation, and are not so quick to troll, and backlash when they know their reputation is at stake. With just +1's before, they knew they would always be safe in that area. Of course this always has it's downside, some people could disregard people's opinions because "Oh, he has -5 rep. Clearly he doesn't know what he is talking about." when he/she could be right in some opinions. What if you could only +1 and -1 in posts that you have commented in? If a staff member sees a ton of players just saying "-1" in the posts rather than legit posts, they can clear all the -1s from that person due to pure unfairness. That would be a lot of work though wouldn't it? lol I personally would't want to do it, so I understand if you don't like the sound of that idea.

What if players could make it so that they do not have to see a specific player's status updates? For example, I don't like the player "Mrfropplepopple" because he/she is always negative, I can add them to a "Status block" list, and now I don't have to view their status. Not sure if this is a good compromise, or if it even works, but even something like that perhaps? What if we could toggle status updates instead? Or perhaps (This next one can be very controversial) only donators can do status updates, or toggle?

How ironic, considering I came up with a similar idea a while ago, and it got denied/ignored. And now you want to try it? I don't really care too much, I just find it a little funny.
