  1. This one occured recently! During a birthday party held for Bacchus, there were THREE barfights happening at the same time. Which Amandine was the cause of like one or two I believe.
  2. One of my favorite memories, different from the one I gave in response to Unbaed, was with a character I made impulsively. She was a rambunctious elven pirate that hung around Curon. However, my favorite memory was her in the tavern, throwing random items at a man. He paid Mattisyn 500 mina to stop, in which she proceeded to throw the coin at him instead. The roleplay was ridiculously detailed for such a simple event, but it was absolutely hilarious. I did a lot of fun things on that pirate, I might have to bring her back.
  3. Hey Unbaed! I have so many, oh my goodness. I'll have to say that my absolute favorite moment of RP was definitely when I played a Stormbreaker dwarf. They were such a fun RP group! However, the best moment in that was when my character became the first female Clan Leader! Another one of my favorite moments/characters was Valeria (Ruthern) Basrid. This was one of the only characters that I truly developed from 5-35 before I took a break from LOTC. I think my favorite part about RP on this character was the fact that, at the time, there was so many other characters within the same age range. So we formed our own little RP group - The Kids of Providence! We kept those characters connected from the beginning until adulthood. It was probably the most developed character I had when it came down to memories, achievements, skills, etc... A character that I liked the concepts of, hmm, I haven't really thought about this one! I can't really think of one from back then. Currently, however, I really enjoy the concepts that @DISCOLIQUID has for his character Bacchus! Such an iconic character. Inspiration for my characters come as I play them! I start a character so plainly and figure them out along the way as roleplay occurs. For example, my most previous character, Amandine. I quite literally just made some short auvergnian woman and developed her personality and backstory as needed! I find it more fun to do it that way. OOCly, I don't think I can recall any significant funny moments... Just my usual witty comments made as boring as that may be. Ah, Unbaed! I think you've been around for as long as I can remember. I don't think we've had much interaction until recently. You're an exceptional roleplayer and your character development is superb. I enjoy interacting with you in roleplay and just in general! :) All Kai needs is an invite!
  4. Yes! I've taken a lot of breaks. They're good for the soul. I have a habit of playing for a while, then dipping for several months out of no where - oops. But on a real note, it's been great to see how the server has grown and developed!
  5. Hello friends! It's crazy to think that I've been on this server for 7, almost 8 years now! I've played such a variety of different characters and have so many memories within this server. I figured it was due time that I have an AMA for myself - ask away!
  6. Amandine Komnenos rests in a private room of the clinic, beads of sweat dampen her forehead, her breath is heavy with exhaustion. Her body is tired and near limp, except for those arms of hers that held a newborn baby so closely to her chest. The arrival of her daughter was meant to be a joyous occasion in which she’d share with her husband. Though something plagues her mind and hinders the happiness she should be feeling. What would they look like? What would I name them? Amandine’s mind races with what almost was. As she’d adore the sight of her daughter sleeping so peacefully within her arms, her mind is torn between gratitude and grief. She recalls the memory that had changed the temper of what could’ve… what should’ve been one of her most merry experiences: A usual shift within The Savoyard Smirk, the tavern within Providence that she had been employed for so many years. Amandine partook in casual conversation amongst the patrons she served. It was a regular day. That mother recalled within her grief as the story continues in her mind. There wasn’t a singular sign of creeping havoc, not a hint of danger in the air - until it was already happening that is. Several men - Amandine couldn’t recall how many, it all happened so fast - charged the tavern. They terrorized and abused the customers, taking each possession they’d carry and in some, even their life. This happened right before her eyes, she watched the brutal beating of a man she was, only moments before, sharing a pleasant conversation with. Once that aggressor was finished, and that man lain victim across the floor, he conquered the bar; the only thing that served as a barrier between him and Amandine. Upon seeing the violence that filled her place of work, a responsibility of protection, an internal spark of defense overtook the woman. Therefore, at the time that the man stood less than a foot from Amandine, she had already begun her casting - the only means of self-preservation she had. Get on the ground! Those savage words that lingered in the darkest part of her mind, but not as painfully as the regret she felt from her own actions of refusal. Pride and pain or cowardice and potential riddance? The decision at hand in those very moments. Non. A single word that caused the spiral of events that changed the emotion of this day - the birth of her child. Amandine and her assailant stood within spitting distance of another. The intensity weighing on their souls as a raised sword and a ball of conjured fire would determine their upcoming fate. Much to Amandine’s rue, she was not efficient enough in her casting, not yet skilled enough as a mage. "Die mage!" Then was Amandine impaled by the brute’s sword, to the right of her stomach, but truly his words would puncture her mind and allow a drowning sense of regret to enter her thoughts. I should’ve listened, why did I choose to fight? I knew better. These were the mage’s final thoughts as the ichor seeped through her garbs and her cheek was pressed to the tile floor. Hope drained from Amandine in similar fashion to the blood that puddled around her; she surely expected to die in that moment. “Get away from her, she’s going to die!” A woman’s voice seethed to the bandit. This act of bravery caused the fallen lids of Amandine to flutter open, and soon were they filled with shock as she heard the ferryman’s next words: “Save her, but stay back!” Was that remorse from her attacker? The woman heaved Amandine over the counter, and dragged her away from the bloodshed that continued. Amandine fought her faltering consciousness as the woman repeated “Stay awake, you have to stay awake.” The following events were a blur to Amandine after that moment until she awoke in the personal clinic of Dr. Primrose Gendik. A rush of energy surged through her as an alchemy concoction was administered. Her eyes frantically darted around her surroundings. Amandine’s husband was at her side in woe, but she allotted no attention to him. Instead, her gaze pierced through Doctor Gendik. “My baby, how is my baby?” she asked, the fear in her tone and in her eyes was one she had never held prior - even when she stared potential death in the eye. Doctor Gendik discovered that there wasn’t only one child to be concerned for, but two. With a sombe toner, Primrose informed the parents that one of the unborn children still carried strength, but the other will likely not survive this attack. Amandine relived these moments in her mind as she rested within the clinic. She recalled the rage, the thirst for revenge, the aggression she felt towards the ferryman that had killed her unborn child. These emotions began to fume inside her again before her deep, deep thought was interrupted by her husband’s voice. “Amandine, are you alright?” Thomas inquired, taking note of Amandine’s intense stare and lengthy silence. “I will never let anyone hurt you, ever.” The determined mother whispered to her daughter. She will never make that mistake again. The loss of one of her children will follow her through motherhood, she set it into her mind that she won’t allow death to take another one of her children - even if it bestows her demise, not a single hand will bring harm to her kin.
  7. Discordant, this is beautifully written. The amount of imagery you created with your words is astounding. This is an unfortunate ending for so many people, my heart goes out to those who lost years of character development.
  8. I have been on Lotc for 7 years now and this is probably one of the most OOC-Conflict saturation - due to IRP occurences - I have seen in a while. I rarely EVER get involved with highly-stressed situations like this unless it makes sense for my CHARACTER. Yet, with this war, I've had people OOCly ask me where I side, not my characters, where I personally, as a player, side. I always tell them that I don't side anywhere because this is up to roleplay, it's up to the personas we create, and the game we play. OOC conflict due to Rp conflict has been an issue on Lotc for a long time, but we can't control every single person within such a large community, unfortunately. All we can do is hope that people gain maturity and an understanding what the difference between real life and roleplay is as time pushes forward. I have no ill-intent with my words, just sharing my piece. I adore being a member of this community and I don't want to see it fall apart due to a roleplay circumstance. <3
  9. I would just like to say that I started LOTC in 2015 and I was a little dweeb back then, reading my old forum posts was excruciatingly embarrassing.. I am now filled with regret.

  10. Valeria vas Ruthern had 300 freshly baked snickerdoodle cookies delivered to the palace for the wedding reception and a note sent directly to His Imperial Excellency. The note read: "Freshly baked snickerdoodles for your wedding reception, just as I promised. I apologize for my absence. Signed, Valeria vas Ruthern."

  13. Hello! I started on Lotc during Vailor back in 2015. Wow, five years I've been involved in this community. Anyway, I took a break for about a year due to the chaos of school and starting college, etc. Some of you may know me, others may not. I've changed my username a few times. You might know me as Jennanana or Jxnna_! Anyway, I just wanted to say hello again and see if any of my old friends here on the server, that I haven't already spoken to, still play! Feel free to reminisce on old memories if there are any and I will see you around.
