    such a shame that military/guard RP has seen such a stark decline compared to how it used to be. it's probably my favorite niche of RP but outside of some outliers (like burgundy seems to be doing well, maybe numendil?) it really feels like it's been left in the dust in most places. there's a lot of reasons for this but I think the simplest explanation is that there's just no reason to have a military or guards in most places, at least not as much of a need as there used to be

      Nomad moment. Don't need an official military when everyone in your camp owns a weapon

      It's funny but I feel like the best guard roleplayers get elevated to whatever status and then no one seems to fill in the gap, and we're devoid of having our favorite guard at the gate :(

      There will never be another ISA. I do miss just noob guard RP, I remember back in my early early days, I tracked down a guy and insisted him selling drugs was illegal, and I remember being the only guard around and dragging him into our cells. Was useless, but it was fun anyhow. I am trying to do that again with Haelun'or and its relatively small population, and while it is working in some ways, I don't think anywhere will get the level of just sitting in gates for hours on end and just bumming around for no reason
