this is just food for thought but what do we suppose the reason is that, generally speaking, elves (either individually or as groups) are more willing to assimilate to human culture than humans to elf culture? theres definitely some neat outliers like the norland or idunia druids(?) but for the most part you're more likely to see an elf doing human larp in government, military, family houses, as a vassal, etc than humans intermingling with elven communities and doing this stuff. not that theres anything wrong with this, but its interesting commentary imo

it’s mainly bcos most elves are just humans with long lives and that’s okay. But distinct cultures that require longevity and intelligence and wisdom are lost by people who play 500 year old elves as human teenagers and makes it extremely jarring. Whereas in a human nation you can just exist without caring about age or seeming wise and all knowing. elven cultures require v distinct mindset shifts that highlight the concept of being immortal to time, whereas human cultures are an easy opt out for elves who don’t want to explore those aspects
