Fellas to what end and when is the "my character lied" play applicable? If I find out oocly hernan has cooties and i make an irp post of it, and when approached i claim 'oh my character made that up, just happens to be true' - theres been some precedent for such approach being acceptable
What we thinkin tho

I think anything being posted on the forums deserves at least twice the level of scrutiny as claims made in-game because even if it's a "private" letter or something like that, the amount of players it reaches who are casually browsing is way larger. Overall, I'd say that slander/lucky guesses are more likely to be justifiable in an RP setting, but in a quasi-RP setting like the forums, it's hard to come off as anything but metagame-y. The whole "my character guessed" thing certainly comes off as very "um, actually," in a way that actively detracts from fun.
