  1. oem vanir’seth Malaurir Arasdir Miravaris 24th day of Malin's Welcome, the Year 150 of the Second Age ere at last, ere the dawn of our people rises, doth the duty of mine come to an end. Long centuries hath my servitude been pledged to the Silver City, and long have I watched my ilk with wonder and mirth. So, too, are the thoughts which fill me now. Had time been kinder, I would have shepherded you longer and with more determination, and I would’ve called you brothers and sisters in silver. It is alas, not the legacy of a Maheral that I shall leave behind, but rather that of a patriot. So now do our roads divide as Larihei’s beacon guides me on pilgrimage. Our roads together may reach a larger way - and we may meet again. Until we may laugh and debate together once more, it is my hallowed duty that I pass on the torch of Her Most Blessed onto the single elfess wise enough to carry it. Celestia Astramaris is henceforth Maheral. anniler’oem onn elsiimah, neehya elilum tuva narn’vallei
  2. elsan’elMaheral Malaurir Arasdir Miravaris 24th day of The Amber Cold, the Year 150 of the Second Age lways grief comes from the clash of blades, and yet in their haste, the formidable legions of the Sohaer have brought into the fold of Elcihi’thilln our northern neighbors with lives so many spared that hardly it was a war. However small the cost, not in vein it was, for we shall share our greatness with the Dominion of Nevaehlen, so that we may, together, stride towards perfection. In light of this great addition to the mass of denizens our Empire boasts, no doubt countless lay in fear of what judgement Elpariran’tir may enact unto those of silver, who forsook their duty and calling, assuming an identity not theirs to take, in Nevaehlen. The high elves who shed their mantle of nobility and chose instead a crown of leaves may sigh easy, for it gladdens none to see their heads roll. The Maheral issues a warm invitation to all those whose hearts long sought solace, forlorn of Larihei’s guidance, but none shall move to force those lost onto the right path. All roads shall join the larger way of purity, at their own pace. t is in light of this end to war, too, that we may address the matter of renowned scientist Dyonne Alusa’s attempt at enhancing purity. The lady Alusa was summoned to plead the case of her potions before the citizenship and Maheral. She declined. It is, alas, my belief that such notions are inherently impure. Henceforth shall any who ingest or undergo such procedures as to turn their blood gold will be treated with by the Pariran’tir. Those who have already been taken by temptation are hereby tasked with finding a cure, not prone to any other punishment. The reason for such decision is not that the golden ichor harms one’s hiylun, as was solely argued, but that it stands to blind one to progress. Purity is achieved by great deeds and noble pursuit, by sacrifice and determination. However laughable the notion, the belief that a concoction can grant in a moment what our ancestors have for millenia nurtured is harmful and blasphemous, leading vain ambition and sloth. inally, summons are issued to Aiera Sullas and Ikur Sullas to discuss with haste the incidents pertaining to the Missive of ‘Caladros’ and, by extension, the future status of their formerly blessed Talonnii. anniler’oem onn elsiimah, neehya elilum tuva narn’vallei
  3. elsanuhier’elMaheral Malaurir Arasdir Miravaris 5th day of The Deep Cold, the Year 146 of the Second Age mongst those born of silver, the shadow of a rumor looms. Held in high reverence is the conjuration whereby blood already hallowed turns in hue, and vain ambitions steers the credulous onto path not charted by Larihei. The wisdom borne of the Golden Pools stands forsaken. It is by deed hewn in silver that a pure legacy be born, and not by the brewing of concoctions. Hence I bid to the Motherland her whose devices issue bold challenge to the perfection of mali’thill. Dyonne Alusa, denizen of the Woodland Realm of Nevaehlen, whose way diverged from Elcihi’thilln during the waning of Kalenz, is to heed the summons of her Maheral and debate with the Blessed Citizenry regarding the essence of her contrivances. anniler’oem onn elsiimah, neehya elilum tuva narn’vallei
  4. "Blessed Citizenry! It is both my great honor and solemn burden to have been bestowed this hallowed task. We lay now in the wake of great progress, and look with eager eyes upon the boundless horizons of Aevos. From this cradle of Tahn'miar, I implore you to rally your hearts, that we may, together, serve as the chisel by which a destiny is hewn in silver!" Had the new Maheral adress those present at the assembly, his gaze peering piercing past the attendees, as if into a bright future.
  5. Arasdir Miravaris procured a copy of the gazette on his way to the tavern, taking his usual seat. Upon reading the collumn about Elasul, the high elf put the paper down. The plot thickens, could Elarhil Sullas the Vampire be involved in this most impure of activities? And his unsatable hunger the reason behind the sudden disappearance of his kin?... Justice will find him, sooner or later...
  6. Arasdir Miravaris accepted the parchment offered to him, growing uneasy as he mused over the notice and read of the deeds this innocent caprine had to suffer. "To this end did this valah visit Elcihi so often?" Concerned now over the safety of Laurir Goathelon's in the park, he sought to ask that Elsillumiran keep guard over him...
  7. Arasdir Miravaris rejoiced amongst his ilk at the great accomplishes of the new regime, his eyes gleaming with pride at the tidings of an assembly. "Only a keen Uradir eye could have mustered a Heial'thilln so endowed with diligence. No fortitude was left unrewarded."
  8. ON THE NATURE OF PURITY Part I - The Origins of Purity The genesis of mali’thill comes in an age of myth, when the world was young and when the progenitor of elvendom still saw reason. At its apex, the Kingdom of Malinor had been a sight to behold, but not for long did our forefathers stay united. The mightier the forests stood, the easier they caught ablaze - and so, too, was the case for the frail mind of what was still a promising King. Detailed accounts of what gave way to the decline of Malinor elude even the most ambitious historians - and none still live who recall the political climate, but it is certain that the King began to amass enemies and rivals in droves, cracks forming in what was once a great Kingdom, giving way to pestilence to spread and petty squabbles to be settled in the streets. Chief advisor amongst the council of Malin was one Larihei Lohmanih, an elfess brave enough to present the King with solutions rather than lay complacent in the corruption of her comrades and appease the King and his deranged mumblings, more inane by the day. Some, who seek to give legitimacy to their mastery of the arcane, claim that Larihei had come forth with such a discovery: magic. This paper shall not delve into this school of thought, as I elect to remain neutral on that which we know not for certain. What is irrefutable, however, is that her council came tragically late, as the King was an empty shell of his former self. Seeing daggers in every shadow and enemies where there were none, the tyrant Malin did not lend Larihei his ear; the most zealous of scholars proposing that she was banished for the audacity of presuming to aid the King. Regardless, whether by her own will or by decree, the young elfess went down the path of exile and those who still saw reason amongst the citizens of Malinor chose to follow her - trudging the wastes aimlessly - though purpose was eventually found. The golden pools are a tale every high elven child has heard, as much of a symbol of hope today as they were in those ancient times. Within these deep caverns where the nomadic elves took shelter, they found glistening waters which healed their ailments and granted them blessings beyond mortal comprehension. It was around these sacred waters that the first Haelun’or was built, granting those who migrated into its humble walls wisdom and health in a world where these resources grew sparse. I dare debate that our oldest kin did not know such a concept as purity - for they could not have seen in their lives plague nor depravity. It is upon the untimely destruction of these miraculous Golden Pools that the duty of Larihei’s People was truly born. Unable to share the gift in a direct manner, through simple exposure to the Pools for those who had not stood within them, the high elves took on the noble task of giving back to the world what had been given to them. That, most of all, stands at the root of our people’s belief, whether or not some do remember. Upon those who have, with impunity, forsaken our path, we look down. Not out of spite, but out of disgust. To forget oneself and engage unchecked in depravity is to abandon your duty and prolong the suffering in the world, taking the great Gift of the Golden Pools for granted while those who beg for your aid continue to wallow in mud. It is with this great empathy and reverence of responsibility in mind that a diligent high elf should conduct their duty to spread across the continents their inventions, art and writings - for all to be touched by and for all to learn from. With a blessing as great as the one bestowed upon the mali’thill, one cannot afford to take pleasure in the vanity which runs rampant amongst lesser beings. The ultimate goal of our lengthy path is a pure world - one in which none will live to see the sharp end of a blade, nor succumb to illness, nor face hate. The crude truth of our current world, however, is that none can escape its unforgivable indifference. The burden we, those born of silver, bear on our shoulders is that of the sacrifices that are to be made: putting aside that which comes naturally, our own desires, for the sake of progress and health. 9. ELNARNANTE'THILLN ~A Scientific Study~ Elnarnante, commonly referred to as the snail, is a viscous, unremarkable species of gastropod which carries a coiled shell on its back, as if a caravan of sorts into which it is able to retract its whole body. Their relevance within the world however has increased tremendously since the centenary invention of Sullasian Snail Racing, a Haelun'orian sport which draws in crowds from around the continent. It is since this great breakthrough that high elves have embarked on a journey of innovation, Talonniis and breeders alike seeking to bring about new era of snail racing through selective breeding. In this scholarly paper, I, Arasdir Miravaris, shall examine my findings on three wilds snails which have taken the world of mollusk-breeding by storm. [Figure A: A representation of the Magma Crawler] The Magma Crawler, herald of adaptability, is a breed of gastropod which spends its life dangerously close to the scorching fires. Its shell is oftentimes black as the obsidian-stone which it calls home, though I could not determine whether a residue of ash had given it this coloration or it is indeed genetic. This creature is one that breeders elect to collect due to its perseverance and stalwart nature. No doubt the task of finding, let alone catching such a tenacious species would prove dangerous, as its habitat which it navigates with ease may prove lethal to those unadapted. [Figure B: The Warproot Mollusk] The Warproot Mollusk is Queen of the Jungle, a behemoth compared to its ilk thanks in no small part to the abundance of nutrition that its habitat has to offer. Within the jungle which it resides in, this snail is not only at an advantage due to its natural coloration which allows it to camouflage, but, despite or, perhaps thanks to its size, it is the varietal of snail considered by specialists to be the fastest, able to elude its predators with relative ease. In the quest to chase after this speedster snail, some expeditioners fell behind in speed to their prey, and took its place in the food chain. [Figure C: A representation of the Arcane Whelk] The Arcane Whelk is the most curious of the mollusks which this study seeks to elucidate, little doubt remains thanks to its strange coloration that some meddling has been done by mages in order to enhance its racing capabilities. Some even go as far as to claim the genesis of this creature was in tandem with that of the High Elves, having had the fortune of bathing in the Golden Pool. Whatever the truth, this wild snail is most often located in areas in which the arcane has been unleashed, perhaps feeding on its residue, as some have suggested. As its silvered nature implies, this is the most noble and wise of gastropods, a must-have in the laboratory of a scientist who seeks to determine its intellectual capabilities. Perhaps, in one's search for this particular breed of snail, they might find themselves outsmarted by an invertebrate! Maehr’sae hiylun’ehya [This post is made in regards to the upcoming Haelun'orian Cup of Snail Racing, the prelude of which will revolve around catching, customizing, bonding with and trainining your own future champion]
  10. -<II|| The Miravaris Talonnii ||II>- “Of all silvered things, only Haelun’or and its law remain eternal.” - History - Whilst the Miravaris Talonnii is estimated to hold origins in Asulon, from times of the Second Pools, its exact genesis is shrouded in mystery. The first recorded Miravaris Laurir - Aevulith Miravaris - penned an original entry into Bloodline Archives of ages past: one of few Miravaris artefacts that have been recovered, at least in part. Later entries such as this have continued to expand upon our Talonnii’s history, documenting the ever-growing list of Miravaris oem’ii born, and the Miravaris’ eventual rise to prominence. - I - Through Asulon til Atlas, the Talonnii of Miravaris remained somewhat unknown; but another humble Mali’thill lineage, tending quietly to their research, craft, and duties. So did it remain, until tragedy struck; Okarn’thilln, where the Miravaris Talonnii had resided in number, was destroyed. II - After the destruction of Okarn’thilln, to which many kin members were lost, the Miravaris family began to regroup in the newfound city of Fi’halen, providing a full emergence as the Haelun’orian people moved to the land of Arcas. It was there that the first Miravaris attained a position upon elHeial’thilln, and would later go on to briefly take up the mantle of Sohaership at two separate times. III - Throughout this time, various Miravaris kin would make their presence known, informing that the Talonnii as a whole had indeed survived the Okarn’thilln disaster. Tragedy once again struck the Mali’thill - during Alaion Miravaris’ tenure as Okarir’tir, the Maheral Azorella Elibar’acal was assassinated, prompting the resignation of the incumbent Sohaer. In attempts to stabilise and re-unify the Mali’thill people, Alaion Miravaris took up the mantle of Sohaership. IV - Yet, comfort for the Miravaris could not last long - tensions still remained high, and a Republic faction began to gather in elCihi. As the investigations into the assassination came with little fruition, the people were placed into a frenzy - disorder and disruption pushed the Silver City past its brink, culminating in the coup of Sohaer Alaion Miravaris and Acaele Lazul, bringing the rise of the Republic Era. V - Ultimately, this led to the Miravaris Talonnii becoming scarce within elCihi, either taking temporary leave from the city or merely keeping very low profile. Throughout the Republic and Sohaerite Eras in Almaris, the Miravaris Talonnii removed itself from the public eye; awaiting a time in which they could return to a stable, recognisable Haelun’or and fully reintegrate themselves. VI - Alas, the decision to re-emerge was no such smooth thing; it was once again in the face of travesty that the Miravaris proved again their loyalty to the Silver State. Arasdir Miravaris came early in the great struggle against the Mali’fenn, tasked with a de facto administration of the State while the conflict was still brewing. The work he had done and the time endured in Fennic prisons earned enough time for the re-emerging of Alaion Miravaris and the cavalry of patriot Mali’thill, who secured the Sohaership - this time, elected. The Miravaris presented themselves as a figure in opposition to the attempted coup of the Silver State by the Mali’fenn, gathering together supporters and a faction to try and undo the damage that had been done by the traitorous predecessor council. VII - With international pressure building, the new Silver Council made a pact with the Uruk Horde in exchange for protection of their peoples. However, whilst the Haelun’orian people did indeed succeed in defending their home from occupancy by the Mali’fenn and New Malinor, wider Almaris conflicts found themselves to centre around the Mali’thill island. In seeking to end unnecessary ‘thill bloodshed, the Miravaris Talonnii migrated alongside our Mali’thill kin to the southern peninsula city of Asul’hileia, wherein the Sohaership was handed to Luthien Maeyr’onn. VIII - From then until now, the Talonnii continues to grow in number, with many members reconvening in the migration to Aevos and Tahn’miruel. The future of the Miravaris Talonnii remains yet to be penned. - Code of Conduct - I - The Miravaris Talonnii conducts itself in eternal accordance with the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. The Miravaris are committed to the following of Larihei’s teachings - to stray from the Silvered Path is to be Miravaris no longer. Those of the Miravaris line strive for perfection in their purity, of both mind and body. II - The Miravaris Talonnii recognises refinement, etiquette, and formal respect. From a young age, elves of the Miravaris lineage are provided with a rigid programme of education, including but not limited to formal studies in the arts, the humanities, and the sciences. It is not uncommon to see a Miravaris with total mastery in a specific field, the family boasting especially fine musicians. Beyond this, the Miravaris Talonnii places specific emphasis on studies of law, culture, and debate. After all, it is that which holds the true framework of proper, ordered society. III - The Miravaris Talonnii emphasises order, preservation, and structure. The Miravaris Talonnii has long held ties to elSillumiran; and indeed, all capable Miravaris’ are expected to enlist and serve. In youth, the Miravaris not only pursue formal education, but equally the health of the body, with physical training a key part of this endeavour. The Miravaris strive to be model Citizens: the strive for contribution to the collective structure is one that the Miravaris hold close to their heart. From this citizenship comes service, comes loyalty, comes devotion. If a Miravaris makes an oath, they intend to keep it. - Physical Traits - I - Whilst the Miravaris Talonnii hold no exclusive traits in hair colour, due to varying branches of ancestry, they most commonly are seen with pale hair ranging from a pale blonde to a warm white. II - Miravaris’ tend to have very angular facial features; pointed noses, sharp jaws, upturned eyes. Though alike hair colour their eye-colour varies, it is almost always of a light, pale tone, no matter the hue. III - On first glance, the Miravaris seem to hold a lithe build. This observation is likely due to Talonnii members being regularly quite tall: almost always over 6ft. However, this is not to say that the Miravaris are merely gaunt scholars; quite the opposite, in fact. Whilst not physically ‘brawny’ or ‘stocky’, the Miravaris tend to be healthy, toned, and relatively strong due to emphasis on military training in youth. - Genealogy - –=–=–=– Chronology of Lauriran Aevulith Miravaris, mother of Lliesyr Miravaris, mother of Aerindir Miravaris, father of Alaion Miravaris, brother of Alluin Miravaris, second-cousin of Arasdir Miravaris. - I - Within the Miravaris, the Laurirship is passed down de facto to the eldest living descendant who is capable of receiving such. The heir-Laurir shall then be bestowed the Miravaris Circlet, and entitled to the formal use of the Talonnii crest and seal. II - There exists however a process of challenge, in which another eligible descendant may declare the incumbent Laurir ‘unfit’: a) formally issuing a challenge for the Laurirship, in case of perceived incompetence or impurity, or ; b) lettering a respectful request for the transfer of the Laurirship, should an incumbent be found absent/no longer able to fulfil duties.
  11. "Rejoice! Before us, a remarkable reward. Rightly awarded to resident and regulator by the renaissance of romanticization. This recompense, no mere ruse of revitalization, is a representation of the remidiabilities, now restored, revitalized. As such, this retroactive recognition of deeds rationalistic stands to be renowed, held royally within the radiant republic. A rhetoric of respect towards the replenished Sillumir, to relinquish rugged robes and replace them with refreshing red and daring alabaster. Rather, this rigid repertoir of words reverberates confusion, so let us just say it will be our very great pleasure to have you at the Replenishing Revelment." - such was the note penned as a response by a poetic mali'thill!

  14. "Set your course by the stars, and not by the lights of every passing ship." A young Miravaris mused as he rummaged through his satchel for his silver quill, idly beginning to scribble his own name below the missive. "Elmalauriran are eternal. Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya!"
  15. "A landslide! The will of the united Haelun'or is made manifest!" A young, aptly-dressed Uhieran cheered as he got news of the results from Elmalauriran, setting out to peform his duty of announcing the great news!
  16. ((Minecraft Name: Kenzo74_) Name: Arasdir Miravaris Age: Over Fifty Vote 1: Alaion Miravaris Vote 2: Alaion Miravaris
  17. A much younger Miravaris peers over the missive in disbelief, skimming over it with intrigue and hope. "A true mali'thill, one proved and tested - with achievements countless." He'd beam a wide smile, a hand reaching so as to lift the parchment closer to his eyes, inspecting his relative's policies with great interest. "A worthy successor for Laurir Idendril, at last! Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya!"
  18. "Never before has the entirety of Elcihi'thilln been so united against a threat. No doubt our new Maheral and Elmalauriran shall answer our call to election, restoring order and silver!" A young high elf cheered, a wide smile tugging at the corners of his lips, his hopeful verdant gaze drifting towards the Silver Citadel. "Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya!"
  19. "To witness all mali'thill unite in such harmony, put aside any disagreements and rise in strenght against invaders. Historical..." A young Miravaris mused, a hopeful smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Silver does persevere. Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya."
  20. "Untasteful, manic-induced inane babble. Each and every argument you bring is laced with weak venom, you respond to every bit of criticism by ignoring it and instead attempting to accuse me of that which you are guilty of. You appeal to ad hominem repeatedly and make barrage upon barrage of baseless claims, hoping to overwhelm me with so much non-sense to address. You break every single rule the moderator has set into place to keep this civil and diminish this blessed tradition to something more akin to infantile valah squabbling on a playground." The elf offered a heavy sigh, allowing his eyes to fall shut for a moment as he drew in a heavy breath. "Your words, much like your promises, are empty and made to look appealing. You make accusations which mean absolutely nothing and fight armies upon armies of strawman arguments of your own making, keeping them vague enough to seem witty to an untrained eye. Ne, these fictional words did not come from my own mouth, they came from your own, as I am certain you are aware, or too delusional to be. You lack renown which you claim to bear, that is not a deameaning statement, but a fact of the matter - the blessed citizenry, in no small part, has no idea who you are, despite these claims of a wide web of acquaintances. Similarly, your accompishments are something you contradict yourself on, as you both claim to lack any and, in the same monologue make reference to a single vague instance where, for all we know, you perhaps held Elokarir'mali's luggage for her - boasting that as if you are one constantly bringing victories to our shores." The elf shook his head, an appalled look overtaking his countenance as he readjusted his silver headpiece, turning his attention to the moderator, now ready to adress Evo'lur's question. "I intend to continue the pursuits which Elokarir'mali so impeccably performed in the lack of an Okarir'san, working towards the possibility of more embassies, restoring a form of Elemyumiran so as to tend to them and serve Elcihi'thilln's interests outside of our borders. A matter in the forefront of needing to be addressed is the Voidal Taint, in regards to which I have already made progress in bettering our relations with the druii - after that, other mali settlements come, as I've already begun to pursue. Though this shall depend on the will of Elheial'thilln. The tactic employed shall be no different from the one I preach - mere cordiality and eloquence, offers which may suit their needs, mutually beneficial trade, an embassy - if they so please. To pretend diplomacy is not an art of improvisation and to make it seem as if every foreign state or cihi can be approached in the same manner is ignorant - ehya, in regards to the war, guised as a curious traveller, I risked my life visiting both Elvenesse and Fenn in the past, hoping to take weary, slow steps towards peace."
  21. The elf drummed his gloved fingers idly on the lectern, grimancing and furrowing his brows with distaste as he listened. Only when A'eollaja was done would he clear his throat, readopting his amicable smile as best he could, his hands returning themselves to his back. "I had come into our Blessed Citadel expecting much more tact and sportmanship from an opponent." He'd admit, peering about the crowd in near disbelief, drawing in a heavy breath. "You have shamelessly twisted my words to bear no semblance of what I said, Miss A'eollaja - I specifically stated that out of the long and senseless speech of the musin, I was able to find some wisdom in what he said regarding an immortal's being ability to store knowledge and experiences. To claim such discredits books is a rather impressive feat of mental acrobatics, especially when I specifically stated that not to be the case." The high elf paused, bobbing his head from side to side. "I never quite did say a mind polished by scholarly endeavours is unfit for the office of Elokarir'san, nor that knowing the history of Mali'thill Diplomacy is obsolete, despite your rather anecdotal example. Therein lays a quite blatant and ungraceful strawman fallacy, ill-move which could be overlooked, had it been the only one of its kind. Personal incredulity is a second, quite clearly - as, ti, I've found that amongst many things, presenting a foreigner with amicability can indeed do wonders, though such will not apply to the more savage and bizzarre, where wit is indeed a weapon to be employed in improvising and earning their trust and friendship." The elf only shot a brief glance to the moderator, as the elfess fails to follow the rules of the debate, though brings no attention to such and merely continues his rebuttle. "To quoque, I believe is what elvalahan use to refer to answering criticism by ignoring it and rather turning it on the accuser in a rather unsavoury manner. My promises were made rather clear in my nomination - yet hypocrisy is employed here in order to attack one's person rather than one's arguments. While I have made clear what my on-going pursuits are in the realm of diplomacy, your words are empty and merely keep mentioning the same 'will do a good job because I have many aquintances'." The elf shook his head, rather baffled all in all by the barrage of attempted fallacies, his smile down-turning ever so slightly and his brows furrowing. "You put rather distasteful words in my mouth which are a polar opposite of what I say, in an attempt to throw onto me the things you are guilty of, fail to answer the question given to you as the rules demand and break the rules once more by asking several questions in return, none of which quite a testament to your good-will. I specifically spoke of the Okarir'san office not being a necessity in any sense of the word for a mali'thill to represent their Motherland abroad and stated that I have already been engaging in this, though with this position one could far better represent our interests than a mere citizen ever could. You however, clearly demand this position before doing any work, which is... rather ironic considering your outrageous accusations and the fact you applied for it merely because it was open, despite it not being fit for your talents." The elf paused, taking a few moments to ponder her last question, his verdant gaze scanning through those present in the Silver Citadel. "I intend to employ an arsenal of things, Miss Valwynn - out of which a cordial approach is in the vanguard. Had my wit alone been able to carry this Blessed State forward, I would, though I am not that gifted. I intend to offer to the Office of Elokarir'san the same dedication I've offered to Haelun'or thus far, stepping onto the geo-political scene armed with the same proactivity, amicability and starry-eyes which I approached Elcihi'thiln with."
  22. The Miravaris rocked back and forth on his heels a single time, resting his hands on the lectern infront of him. He turned his head so as to adress A'eollaja, a polite smile ever plastered to his lips. "Miss Valwynn - you speak fondly of scholarly endeavours more befit of Elokarir'maher's Office. I ask that you pre-emptively forgive my possible ignorance and rudeness, though while no doubt lingers that you may be an accomplished scholar, your lack of renown within Elcihi does arise a question mark regarding your claims of vast connections and great contributions." He'd offer an apologetic smile, dismissing his own monologue with a wave of his hand. "Tillune - I digress. My question would be : Why the office of Elokarir'san, when you are more qualified for that of 'maehr? Did the seeming lack of opponents seem more enticing?"
  23. The young high elf elegantly promenaded from his seat to the dias, his verdant gaze scrutinizing the crowd yet his countenance bearing a stalwart, amicable smile. Once he would reach the podium, the elf fiddled with and readjusted the golden aiguillletes which adorned his militaristic coat, making certain they were presentable and only halting once his opponent began her speech, clasping his hands together at the small of his back and listening intently and with patience, his brows furrowing and his head recoiling ever so slightly in response to her more bold points. "Sirame ito kae'leh, nae oroment." He'd offer in a solemn manner, one hand lifted over to his chest and his head inclining in a slight bow to A'eollaja, his attention thereafter turned towards the crowd, his smile ever-present. "An introduction, I deem, is in order for me too, albeit few in Elcihi'thilln have not learnt my name. I am Arasdir Miravaris." He would offer, a second bow of his head ensuing, although now directed at the crowd. "Although the works of Malaurir Lucion Sullas have a place in my heart and although I like to carry at times a copy of Fi'haelun's tale by Malaurir Visaj, I am not bold enough to claim the title of scholar. Ne." He'd pause, shifting his weight from boot to boot as he allowed a brief shroud of silence to befall the Silver Citadel. "I met once an amicable musin - one who tried to sell me an animii, claiming tomes and libraries can only hold so much knowledge and are so pervious to flame and decay. Of course, non-sense for the most part, though, inadvertedly, this rodent creature offered insight unlike any other: It is us, mali, whose perpetuity makes us books with endless chapters. Even a valah's short-lived story has its value." Arasdir oncemore paused, a bright smile radiating from his lips and a gloved hand rising so as to readjust his circlet. "I am no bookworm, ne, but if peoples were tomes, I have indulged in no small part in reading. A testament to my claims is my already vast number of aquintances inside the cihi, but the walls of the Blessed Bastion have proved no impediment whatsoever: from boldly and, perhaps stupidly socializing with the citizens of Elvenesse of recent, to befriending the Father Circle's druii. Even in the Orenian Empire, I have had the pleasure of meeting friendly faces. The Blessed Office of Elokarir'san is no door. It is not a necessity. Any mali'thill can wearily step outside our ivory gates and spread the good word of our teachings in pursuit of our betterment. I have, for so long as my Talonnii allowed, done just that. This position would merely offer me a chance to coordinate with and to better represent Elheial'thilln's own interests." With that, the high elf ended his speech, signaling such through a bow of his head and wide smile, grateful to those who listened!
  24. AN ODE TO THE MIGHT OF THE QUILL AN OKARIR'SAN NOMINATION as published on the 15th of The Fist Seed – 66 S.A. Quills do not win battles, nor do blades write poetry. Might is in the hand that knows when to pick up the pen and when to swing a sword. Though as of late the arm of our Motherland found itself reaching for the quill only to find that there is no ink - no Okarir'san. The re-addition of this historical position which often in the past changed the tides of war is a measure in of itself which stands testament to the rebirth and Maehr'sae of our Blessed Citadel. We gaze now upon the dusk of a new Cihi'thilln, in which once more reason and integrity reigns supreme. The policy of isolationism left the world peering suspiciously past our ivory gates, unknowing of the nature of our blessed ilk, and unfeeling towards our kind, whomst they have mostly forgotten share the same mortality as them. The inebriated fantasies told by lesser men in roadside taverns soon became the only lens through which many saw our Blessed Bastion, and so they grew resentful, and so they grew hateful. In return, those of us who bleed silver proved our fallibility and met this hate not with understanding nor patience, as Larihei would have, but with more of the same. A vicious, unruly cycle was born of our mistakes, one which I aim to break. The duties of Elokarir'san are not ones which can only be achieved with this prestigious stamp adorning the bottom of a missive, but rather an endeavour that can be taken up by any and all who seek the betterment of our standing. In my short decades, from the very day I was no longer bound to heed the safety concerns of my Talonnii, I wearily ventured through the frozen tundras by winter sown and the scorching deserts of stone. A mere sparrow leaving its nest, I met countless faces, few of which had not at first greeted me with dagger-eyes. It was through patience and through mutual forgiveness that we forged friendships, for who are mali'thill to claim such blessed silver blood if we hold stubbornly onto pitiable grudges and hate? My foremost self-assigned quest has been earning the favor of our forest dwelling cousins and mustering under the same mutual goal, stopping the advance of the voidal taint. With the resources and jurisdiction of Elokarir'san's office, no doubt lingers regarding the fact that my efforts can be tenfold: I will conduct immediate introductory meetings with any and upon Almaris who would have us. I will continue my pursuits in befriending the mali'ame and securing their support in ridding us of the voidal corruption. I will reinstall the ranks of Elemyumiran as Tilruiran of my Office and appoint the most adventurous of mali'thill to spread the good word of our Blessed Citadel. Working in tandem with Elokarir'akaln, I seek to enrich our unique exports and spread them across the continent. Working in tandem with Elokarir'maehr, I seek to establish ties between our most Eternal Library and the humble, emerging institutions across Almaris, gifting and trading knowledge. In light of this, I, Arasdir Miravaris, announce my candidacy for the Office of Okarir'san. Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya. Signed, Arasdir Miravaris
  25. TAHU’FAESU IYUL NAERE TALIAME’WEHN TALIAME’THILLN’EHYA The Giraffes and The Silver Beech ~A Scientific Study~ Tahu’faesu iyul naere taliame’wehn, more commonly referred to as giraffes in the common tongue, are a hoofed ruminant native to the Silver Island, chiefly towering over any other beast of Almaris in a manner reminiscent of Elcihi’thilln’s ivory towers, they are distinguishable by their extremely elongated legs and necks, spotted yellow fur and the tiny oscionnes proudly crowning them Kings of Haelun’or’s Fauna. [Figure A: A representation of the Tahu’faesu iyul naere taliame’wehn] In terms of the Queens of our Flora, there is no candidate more fitting than the Silver Beech, with its emblematic white bark and thin leaves. Curiously enough however, this hardwood is, to an extent, the only species which has flourished on the isle, its vast canopies providing most of the shade on the island. The question which follows is one most obvious: How did this come to pass? How is it that Silver Beech can thrive under the tyrannical rule of eltahu’faesu iyul naere taliame’wehn, a creature which no doubt should be its natural enemy! Let us delve together into the possible hows and whys! The first thing to take into consideration so as to justify the tahu’faesuan iyul naere taliame’wehn’s supreme rule as the only megafauna of its habitat is the insular nature of Haelun’or, which prevents any invasive species from challenging their majestic rule. The same sea-barrier also prevents the Silver Beech from being contested, proving extremely rare that a sapling or nut makes its way here from the mainland, though, in the event that one does, the small shrub is no doubt devoured by eltahu’faesuan iyul naere taliame’wehn before it has any chance to adapt to this cruel bio-sphere. Inadvertently, the spotted creatures ensure that no one challenges their rival’s rule! - Having reached a satisfactory conclusion as to why exactly the Silver Beech and Giraffes occupy the throne which they do, we now wonder how fragile exactly is this balance of power? How is it that the forests of beech are left unscathed, despite being the only source of food for the tahu’faesuan iyul naere taliame’wehn? The baffling answer is one quite simple: not only have the silver beech adapted in such a way that their leaves are plump enough to fill the bellies of the tahu’faesuan iyul naere taliame’wehn before they decimate the whole tree, but they have also developed several defense mechanisms - the first and foremost of which being their thorny branches: sharp as knives, thin and long, they deter any gluttonous ruminant from taking more than their fair share. In the event however that these thorny perimeters are breached, as is often the case, I have come to find through the scientific method that eating the freshly-ripped leaf of an already scantily-clad silver beech leaves one with a terrible taste in the mouth, and quite the unpleasant dizziness! This is due to semi-poisonous compounds being released by the tree once it nears complete dishevelment, ensuring that it will retain enough leaves to survive, despite gracefully allowing the giraffes to feast: this encourages the mammals to move on to another beech and give each a chance to regrow. [Figure B: The thorny branches of Silver Beech] In conclusion, the two most prominent fauna of the Silver Island live in faux harmony with each other, both forced by circumstance to shake hands (or branch) with one another rather than threaten the other’s reign, which could in turn leave themselves dethroned!
