Hello my fellow citizens of the Empire, I am here on this fine occasion, as a scholar, a member of the court, and a citizen of this grand Empire, to humbly inform you all, what I stand for as a senatorial candidate. First, I will be speaking on education. Education and scholastic learning are vital to the betterment of society, and the advancement of the Empire. I fully support educational systems that are run and funded by the federal government, as well as taxes from the citizens and vassals. Second, I will be covering militarism. Keeping a strong military is incredibly important, especially at times like these. Our army is comprised of brave men and women who deserve praise and glory. Members of the ISA should receive housing, payment, and social rank. I will work to increase the range of jobs in the army, as well as the tasks and abilities performed by its members. This includes but is not limited to things like: cartography, scientific and geographic exploration, and the running of fundraising, cultural, and social events. Third, I shall address the rights of the vassals and their respective provinces. Each province is its own entity, and should be treated as such. That being said, they do reap the benefits of living under the reign of the Empire, and therefore should contribute to society, for their own good as well as the good of the people. Provinces should be able to remain semi-autonomous but should also pay taxes as well as contribute to social programs and events. Fourth, I shall make my views on the judicial system clear. I believe that all citizens of the Empire have a right to a fair trial; overseen by a council of their peers, with an impartial judge. Punishments involving forced labour, involuntary servitude, or torture of any kind is the most basic level of savagery, and should not be legal within the boundaries of our civilized lands. Last, but most definitely not least, is the issue of racial equality. All citizens of this Empire should have equal opportunity to better its great society. As your representative, I would work to grant elves who are citizens of the Empire full rights and equality, in the name of progress for all of civilization.
