“Ah, the slums, crime, murder, disease and infection.”

Beneath Vekaro, lies the sewers, long abandoned… Up until recently, black market merchants, murderers, thieves and general poor folk live beneath the city, where the city guards rarely venture due to the risk of disease and infection.

“I ventured into the slums beneath Vekaro once, I saw the acts of cannibalism, the bodies of those who had starved to death and deserters selling slave to dishonest merchants.” - Bajko.

The young Roy “Stran” Carrion ventured into the slums once, with a small force of men to dispatch of the dishonest, criminal folk.

Upon making swift remove of these people, he turned to the people living below and granted them life, sparing them, appalled with the way of living, he decided to change these slums into “Poor-people housing” a sanctuary for nation refuges, folk who had lost their homes due to the wars and people who are too poor to buy their own house.

The former sewers have been cleared and altered so that water from the high mountains flow beneath city and into the former sewers providing safe drinking water for the residents below, poor people housing consists of…

One bed.

One chest

One torch (for lighting)

Those who are unable to afford housing are urged to speak with the town maer to acquire a living quarter beneath the city.

As an act of charity, Roy Carrion has pledged fifteen percent of crop harvest to the poor folk beneath city, these rations will benefit and raise the morale of the poor folk.

To ensure people with dishonest intentions do not dwell in such a place, Roy Carrion has appealed to the Decterum to station atleast two guards within this place, to assist with distributing food rations, maintain order and provide reports on the general well being of the people living below the city.

Long live the young crow!

Recent Updates

Upon visiting the "slums", I realised that a majority of the work was incomplete, after endless hours of fixing the place up, running around the town throwing orders around tell people what to do, the work was complete, we currently have four rooms suitable to hold four people each, meaning the current rooms are available to those who need the room, those interested in "buying" a room (but wait what? Why would anybody want to live there!?) should contact Youlovesocks, this room will then become yours.

Those who want a bed, chest temporarily should post within this topic, or get in contact with any of the town staff in game.

There is still much work to be done down below, but I am proud to annouce that the poor-people homing beneath the city now contans a small Tavern!

A place for people to roleplay and get drunk (...If you're into that kind of stuff)

The town tavern is in the process of being constructed, but I won't talk about that here.

(See Vekaro Overview at the end of this week)

Once more, thanks for reading. - Knox.
