there is a ruin, a dungeon, a crypt or forgotten city the Delvers will
be there to reclaim it's forgotten secrets and knowledge.

Our
positions all hold the same weight save the Commander and his six
Regents. In this guild you apply for a profession once you become a full
fledged delver. We are no army we are a adventuring team!

arcane prowess to keep out cheap hacks and unskilled apprentices (Need
to be Approved Magic user grandfathered in or have accepted Magic App) unless you seek apprenticeship

 The artifact would be a magical book. The book initially appearing to be a beginner's manual for casting spells, but actually has a wide array of general information on various magical topics, like an encyclopedia. It is able to display this information in the form of illusionary pages, like holograms. Even more impressive, the book is also linked with void and updates continuously. It can thus answer almost any question I ask that pertain to magic.

"I'm not exactly sure what a delve is, I was only told a few brief things about it by Toby...however the group itself intrests me. I believe you go in search of artifacts and study them to learn more about the world."

"It would be able to link ones-self with their dreams, or for the more cynical purposes, their nightmares. With enough practice one could even drag the world of dreams into the real world thus merging the two together, however one would also need to be able to Lucid-Dream without any effort. The main drawback would be that you are defenseless while Dreaming. I would use this artifact to connect everyone's dreams, this would mean however that I would have to implicate a real-time dream catcher to stop nightmares and corrupt dreams from breaking through."
