The Fall Of The Cloud Temple

Black mist gathered on top of the Cloud Temple, that was the first sign of what was about to happen at those holy lands. It soon became evident that evil forces were responsible for that mist, as it came together to form a pillar, ice helm and gauntlets being formed through it. The form of various Harbingers appeared. They looked down at those present in the Temple grounds, Monks and visitors looked up to them. Strong black mist appeared above what could only be thought of as the palm of one of the Harbingers.

“The monks have for many years saved the lives of those that bring chaos and destruction onto these realms of our lord. Tonight all that shall end.” A voice echoed through the minds of all those present.

A flame of black and light blue colors appeared from Black mist, and it grew larger in size. Those around lost no time, and quickly seeked cover, some of the monks sending out birds to all nations, seeking for their help. The flames were thrown, many being hit by them. Shouts and screams started to break the peaceful nature of the temple, yet it was not long until the magic of the temple stopped the blue flames. The people were left without any harm.

Some of the warriors started laughing, the magic of the Northerners had no chance of harming the mortals present. The laughing stopped when one of the Harbingers lifted it’s gauntlet, and many small screeches started to be heard behind the temple’s mountains. The warriors drew arms, the weaponless seeked shelter, as they saw a massive group of giant spiders coming down from the hill.

The fight had started and not many of the mortals had fallen from the monstrous arachnids. And though more citizens of Anthos had arrived to aid the Monks of the Sanctuary, their efforts were in vain. The spiders, while weak, were endless, the mortals could not advance to fight the Harbingers. The Dark ones seemed to gather around the insignia on the temple, and started performing a ritual. Their magic flew onto the insignia and slowly it started to break. The warriors fought bravely to try and stop them, but the spiders were too many, soon the insignia broke… The peaceful nature of the temple, disappeared with it…

A great Bloodshard started to be created over the remains of the insignia, and now with the protective layer of the temple gone, the rifts connecting to the Northern lands were created. The corrupted minions of Setherien started coming out. More powerful rifts were created, beasts of many kinds came from them, and started fighting and destroying. The mortals carried on fighting, to try and repel the dark beings back, but as the forces of the mortals dwindled, the forces of the dark ones continued to grow. The mortals had to retreat, and the monks made a new camp in the before GM village. The Harbingers had conquered the Temple Grounds.

The mortals were not ready to face them, not yet… They were not fighting together, not when they fight against each other… Perhaps it’s time for them to acknowledge and unite against a true enemy…

Over the hills a dark elf ran from the beasts while returning home, there she saw a man in dark robes and skeleton mask. He seemed sitting against the hill, holding a book yet appearing very injured. She stayed there not for long, perhaps thinking of him dead, like the many that were in the temple grounds. As the footsteps of the dark elf faded away, the masked man lifted up his head.

“What have we done…”

Patrique hears of the aftermath. He chuckles maniacly in his wine as he mutters "This is something to talk about in church"
