As the day grew on, rumbles began to begin in the south Eastern parts, objects in Dwarven Holds would shake, but they would go generally unnoticed. Even in Kal’Azgoth, where these rumbles were centered, they were hardly noticed.

Later, the skies began to turn dark and clouds began to form around Kal’Azgoth, and their winds brought a great chill with their gusts of air. The guards near the Deeproads began to hear strange grunts from the depths, as well as a teeth chattering chil escaping from the darkness.

Lithe figures moved in the darkness, occasionally looking towards their tall and well armored leader who stood in the front. As they moved around they prepared their weapons and made prayer to their dark master. Suddenly, it was time to move.

It was late in the day when the guards heard the bang, the bang that shook the Dwarven Lands. The Deeproads had been breached.

The first thing the guards saw was a flash of darkness, then a shot of crimson red-the color of blood. The first unit of guards was quickly overwhelmed as the hordes of feral elves descended onto them. The lieutenant watched his forces go to work and quickly traveled over to the great door of the vault, occasionally striking down a guard as he went. When he arrived at the great vault of the Dwarven Kingdom, he concentrated and summoned his master’s power. Lent to him by a god, he released his power with a satisfied release of air. In he walked, to the blasted in Vault. After looking around, the creature crossed over to a pedestal and collected what he had come for, before quickly venturing back to the center of the city.

As the Dwarven Guards fought the great hordes, they quickly began to lose hope as they saw their comrades die around them. Soon, the remaining three guardsmen were being pushed back to the gate, two nearly dead and one with many wounds. As they reached the entryway, one guard split off from his companions and began making his way to Kal’Ithrun, in order to warn his brethren of the sacked city.

As the lieutenant reached the center of the city, he received reports of one of the Dwarves escaping the attack, he screeched in rage, and slew the messenger who told him of such. Seething with rage and hatred, the lieutenant ordered his men prepare the city for a siege and to hold it all costs until the the thing they had come for could be safely stored away at their fortress. The feral minions rushed off to prepare for the great battle. The lieutenants watched on , developing his traps and how he would slaughter the ax bearing midgets.

On and on Dreek ran, his wounds dripping blood as he traveled. Grunting with pain, Dreek took a look back at the taken city, his former home. Enraged by his cowardice, Dreek swore he could see the lights slowly begin to flicker out in Kal'Azgoth, pitching the city into an ever lasting darkness. Looking back in the direction of Kal’Ithrun, Dreek traveled on, warning the citizens of the Osage Forest on his way.
