Oren Boot Camp/Training for the Military

Recommended Posts

I really think we need to train our soldiers so that they will be a little better at their job.Training should have target practice to improve our archery skills, combat and strategy training for close ranged combat and for group combat situations(example:Three guards encountering bandits while scouting or at war.)We should also teach simple things like how to arrest someone.

P.S. If you have any more suggestions for the "Boot Camp" please post a comment.

If the Oren guards need help, our Lord from Tri'sfal would be more than happy to train them! At least, I think so. Tris'fal is a new settlement located near Greenshire. Just pass the gate and it'll be Trisfal

Jack, Guard recruit of Tris'fal.

An anonymous note appears below the rest. ((Using my forum name in game is metagaming.))

There can be no boot camp or training for a military that does not exist. We cannot train a group of protectors that the King does not have in existence. This is just pathetic.

We do need a trained army and guard, but have neither. Our guard is just pathetic though. They are not paid, so not motivated. They are not trained, so incompetent. It is not their fault, but the King's.

We must replace him, he is useless.

Do not stand for this.

As the Oren Military Advisor I would like to tell you that YES there is a training ground. Yes it is being worked on. Yes they will have homes.

I just haven't brought it to light yet because of the work that still needs to be done.

Ask me if you want to see it.

As for the military the ranks are the same as the guard.

The guard acts like a first responder to any war. The military then go in after gearing up ((all guards should be in their armor unless they died, they can ask me for a warkit if they want))

The guard and the army are one in the same really, Military you don't get paid for ((armor weapons and food are considered payment, i guess))

Soon the Training grounds will be done, I will have all you maggots running it! ((:D))

I offered my services to the late King Pampo some time ago to train Oren's soldiers. Due to his disposition and sore feelings, he declined, and as such, I watched many of Oren's "finest" parish in the battles with the undead due to poor training.

As such, I'd like to extend this same offer to King Edmund. I am a very capable fighter, and could turn even the most hopeless rabble into a formidable force through combat and tactics training, providing they are willing to listen.

However, my services will not be free. I would require payment for each recruit I train. Not much, but enough to make it worth my while.

What say you, King Edmund? What is worth more to you, your people's lives or a few Mina's?

As a recruit in the guard, I see how our guard act and how well they respond.

Very few have good guerrilla and/or acrobatics.

I'm not the best either, but I would say I'm above average.

To get to my point;

The training ground for the oren guard is exemplary. I had trouble passing it, and that's saying a good deal.

As my mentor once joked, "Jack be nimble, jack be quick, but it did not stop Johnny from giving him a good prick."

We do not have the best guard at the moment, but I'll be damned if everyone in it passes and isn't capable.

Time and time again, Oren's "finest" have been slaughtered by the undead, even after attending this boot camp from what I have heard. It seems to do little in truly teaching them how to fight the undead threat.

The Oren Guard have a training ground and it is brilliant. Improvements are being made to it all the time and the recruits go there and train alot before being promoted

((With regards to the sign in the recruitment office with training times, do you know what timezone they are in?))

I have seen the Training Ground myself. It is a efficient and brilliantly conceived place.

If you need someone to help train people in Swordsmanship, do not hesitate to ask me.
