We are shifting back more to using MC mechanics. We had a discussion and ultimately it was decided anyone can autoarmour because that's how Minecraft works.

If we're shifting back to using more MC mechanics, shouldn't we turn fire-spread on, unregion everything, and allow no rp kills because that's the way MC works? I think dealing in that train of thought isn't leading us anywhere, personally. But you're entitled to your opinion (certainly more entitled than I due to your position).

Personally, I am against conflict roleplay in general. PvP should be removed. Let's keep it clean, for the children. Its a PG server, right? So no blood or violence.

Alright we have two rules where I'm from I explained this in my Iron Sale thread but some FM deleted it. Here goes.

 

1) Parents said always be polite and thankful for what you got, not all of us have access to computers to play computer games

I personally think everything is fine the way it is. PVP default worked fine in Aegis, and I really don't see any blatant issues now.

In contrast to Asulon and early Anthos, when we were "RP everything", we are shifting back more towards where the server was in Aegis, with a more balanced mix of Minecraft and role-playing. Most notably this can be seen with the change to PvP default and the "mechanical standard" lore regulations.

But why regress when we can progress? We've moved on from the Aegis system for a reason.

I think the point is, Asulon was considered a regression in itself by the majority. So this would be considered progress instead.

The problem with that is everyone will do /nodrop because they don't want the other side to get their **** because it will just give the other side an advantage anyway. IMO it'd be rather easily abused by people, and it'd cause problems- like being norp killed or something without a chance to get your items back, even if you and the other person solved the issue privately.

 

Exactly! If there's OOC hostility between two people there's very little incentive to lock horns IC except for scorched earth warfare. RP is ultimately supposed to be cooperative. Until people understand that we have to consider ways to get that message imprinted into everyone's mind.

I don't really mind the system itself. I preferred RP-default, but, they both have merits. 

 

It is heavily abused, though. PvP should be a means of rp, not an ends to it. I don't mind bandits and raiders using PvP, but I do mind when they come with a mindset of "Whats the smallest amount of RP I can get away with?"

All I'm going to say is that PVP is not RP, and other than 'group' fights, people who declare PVP one on one usually were barely RP'ing to begin with. I mean, honestly, I simply find it silly that RP isn't default on a RP server. I mean, my handicapped eleven year old character could beat the strongest most baddest character in the game just because of PVP.

Agreed, unless they code something in to compensate for differences on a dramatically personalized level, I cannot see PvP in any way supporting how anything could or would happen in actual roleplay standards.

That's why people should base their fighting skill off of how could they are at pvp... I don't go around saying I'm the best Orc warrior when I'm not.. I don't say I'm the best warrior in Anthos because I'm not.
