People seem to forget that proper trolling and the only 'tasteful' form of trolling is when it's subtle, humorous, non-destructive, to the point where very few people will know you did anything at all...... but you'll know..... That my friend is called appropriated trolling.

But at the cost of RP? That is the real question here. While the war certainly has RP effects, I haven't seen much RP in this war. A lot of shouted commands in teamspeak and battles, yes, but not too much serious RP.

If y'all didn't like faction's PVP, ya'll shouldn't have declared war on Oren.

 

EDIT: As an Oren RPer I do think we could be a lot more serious sometimes, especially in front of other factions and new players, but you people calling out all of Oren on this is really annoying. Plenty of us RP perfectly seriously.

I don't really care about the war, but can something be done about the trolling at least? There's simply no reason for people to go around spouting MW2 references when shouts are supposed to be for RP. You can do it on Teamspeak all you want, but the trolling at this point has become flagrant.

The faction's pvp is great, and needed to an extent. I don't think that's the purpose of this post though, directly or indirectly.

Please, the amount of PVP is ridiculous.

 

I don't mind PVP default, but there needs to be less of it. PVP has become so prevalent that it's becoming less of an RP server and more PVP.

 

We don't want new players to leave after not seeing what they spent a couple of hours to get into the server they expected to see. 

 

In addition to this, we don't want to attract the wrong type of players.

I wouldn't mind tuning down on the pvp. But the thing is, there's a pretty big war going on ICly involving the majority of the nations. And after so long of stocking up on stacks of iron blocks, what better way then to go out with a bang? I think a major issue is the setting. We all know the Fringe is temporary and a lot of us are just waiting for 4.0 to come. 

 

So from my perspective, I shouldn't put in as much effort. I'm honestly keeping focused to schooling and irl at the moment unless I'm on and a planned skirmish is happening. Or I'm leading some event for the group I'm in. But based upon most of the cities and builds in general, it's obvious that not much effort was put into it. Kind of a shame too based on how pretty the Fringe was when it was untouched. 

 

Come 4.0 once everyone is settled, everything should be balanced out by then.

 

As for the trolly dialogue, it's like that in most major wars. The only role play that does happen during pvp comes from those working siege equipment, if it's present. Or people shouting commands. Talking smack/joking around is only natural when in a competitive zone. I'm pretty civil about this nonetheless. I play a racist Easterner and Raigeki just spews insults at Orcs and dwarves, calling them 'Green Demons' and 'Vile Dwarfus' respectively. You should see him talk **** to Harbingers!

 

But as I said, come 4.0 when everything is more long term things should be better.

The only way to really fix Oren is to get a good GM in charge of running the nation.

 

Honestly, the trolling seriously needs to tone down. Imagine new players getting on to see this. Either he's going to leave, or mimic their habits.

All Oren needs to fix is just the fact that it is 70% Orders/military, 10% Peasants, and 20% villains. It needs to get back to at least 50% military and 50% peasants/villains (attempting mostly peasants though). However if Oren gets a bashing of such then dwarves also have somewhat of the same issue. Even though most are Roleplayers in general outside of the occasional war/drill, I'd say at least 70% of dwarves are military as well but like 2% villains. Alras & Conclave have the least military (more normal RP), but also have the worst defenses & need people to bail/help them.
