A Note On The Fringe

We should also ban all the elitist ***** putting down people who break the smallest lore or violate the unspoken code of the 1000 rules of magic rp in the most filthy improper attempt to have.............fun.

*dramatic gasp*

Edit: let's just ban everyone, we'll all be happy then

My advice?

Don't like how stuff is going? Make a ban report on whoever it is who is giving you issues.

Doesn't work? Suck it the hell up.

That still not working? Make your own RP server and see how it goes.

And if that doesn't work , rinse and repeat.

How about we ban all the whiny elves?

Sure.

@leowarrior: The more sarcasm you use, the less people listen.

I never troll in PvP, crayfish.

The cause of this is not PvP, it's general trolliness. Don't place blame on something you don't know all that much about.

I'm not going to bother to see if this was posted in a comment, but as a direct response to the OP, it must be said that ther eis a war going on right now. That means extreme amounts of conflict would naturally follow. The actions of Oren, Alras, Orcs, and Dwarves are all justified. Anyone else though, feel from to comment on them.

1. Implement professions plugin that rewards non-combat skills through an economy that relies on more than just iron and pvp.

2. Stop adding incentive to pvp (magic plugins, nexus plugins, combat enchantments etc)

3. Watch as people stop all doing combat **** because they are rewarded for doing non-combat **** in the form of minas.

4. Actually ban people that break rules with an effective moderating team.

5. Remove raid rules.

Hrm. I do think posting Orenian screenshots made the point of this thread shoot over a bunch of folks' head. I wasn't targeting folks -.-.

First off, I'm unsure on how you could troll in PvP, but that is beside the point. Maybe I didn't notice it as much when I first joined the server and everything was RP default, but the trolling seems to be sticking out a whole lot more right now, with near-constant PvPing on all sides.

Yes, AC-130's are justified. :P (forgive me for snarkiness). The main point is, when I log in now, there is either PvP or combat-related RP. While this can be fun, and indeed it is, I'm just noticing that people hop on for the wars and then just fool around like in the screenies. And it really isn't only the war. You've got random groups running around as well.

This entire thread is a joke.

There is a time to be serious and a time to have fun, in my opinion. My advice for the future? Don't declare war on Oren lol, we've all seen the history, we win almost every battle. People in Oren are mad at the Zion treaty, and seek to express their anger. What better way to express it by going around killing those who attempt to tread on you?

Oh, definitely! I'm not planning to declare war on you guys anytime soon.

While the war definitely has an effect on it, it is the Fringe itself that has become very PvP-intensive, and this was true from the beginning and will most likely be true to the end. That is all for now!

^Oh, and this. So much this.

Eh, as long as people are still willing to emote properly, I don't care how much PVP goes on. I don't enjoy PVP often, but as of yet, no one has intruded and forced it on me, so I'm fine. . I understand the fooling around. Though, if you go to a place where people are /already/ RP'ing, please be considerate and maintain character. Otherwise, yelling about magic flying dragons that spit rocks that blow up at the ground doesn't /really/ hurt anyone, rioght?\

Honestly, the only thing I don't like about this war is

[Player] wishes to view your inventory

[Player] wishes to view your inventory

[Player] wishes to view your inventory

[Player] wishes to view your inventory

[Player] wishes to view your inventory

[Player] wishes to view your inventory

[Player] wishes to view your inventory

[Player] wishes to view your inventory

It /really/ bugs me when I get that request, even though I don't understand why.

Like damnit, I just emoted what my character has, unless you /actually/ think she's carrying around sixty cubic meters of dirt.

All and all, I actually find the Fringe to be pretty peaceful for what I expected to be a land of total lawlessness. I was prepared to be bandit'd, kidnapped, and caught between two fighting towns. None of which has happened, surprisingly.

I like the warfare RP, and I'm a High Elf. Actually, I guess I technically prefer the politics of the war more than the actual combat, but the fact that I know there's a war going on is awesome. It gives a lot of feeling to an RP server.

I do very much dislike trolly comments in general, but especially in a war/battle. That's one of the big moments that I think people should be taking their characters seriously for. A war isn't a joke IC, so it takes someone out of it if while they're charging in, their chatbox is spammed with references to other games/fictions. It takes it from a dramatic point in a character's story and turns it into a PvP slogfest. And sure, mechanically it might be just that, but here's the thing- The RP is what gives all of it meaning. It's what puts a lasting effect on the actions. Turning them essentially into OOC PvP sessions ruins part of that.

Maybe if people want to stop some raids, they should make 360 degree walls around their towns instead of trying to use mountains as a defense? PvPers are discouraged, defenders can chill behind their walls, and nobody loses anything. The only thing lost is the PvPer's time trying to get in and his time afterwards spent QQing about impenetrable defenses along with nobody wanting to PvP with them. Frankly even though mountains look cool as a defense, I still don't know why people use it since it is so easy to get through and/or around (unless you're in the mountain instead of outside of it).

I wouldn't like the map if the main feature of a town/city is a wall. Though, a walled moutain would have a neat little wall of China feel about it.
