The Tower Of The Scourge.

((Having, surprisingly, not noticed any posts on this I thought I would take the honor for myself. Enjoy!))

It had been a eventful day. In fact it had been one of Lautrec's most eventful days. As a student and a scholar, it was a true achievement to witness such a powerful creation. He knew not the reprucussions it would bring, though he could only hope that this discovery reached the outside world. Darkness was coming, a darkness unmatched in it's vile, vicious, villainous ways.

Night had already fallen when he looked upon the treacherous tower

It was not the safest nor the smartest thing he had ever done. He was never known to traverse dark building in the black of night surrounded by lava and possibly even worse. And yet there he stood at the base of it, gazing up to it's endless reaches. He let out a audible sigh, knowing that since his curiosity was peaked he would be spending hours there researching it. He felt a darkness in the building, a darkness he couldn't explain and yet something that.. appealed to him. He shrugged it off and began his investigation

Quickly he came across the markings of what was once a standing pillar. Someone, or something, had taken it from it's stone binding. Whoever had taken the pillar had to be as strong as a Ox, Lautrec thought, though he knew that was far from the most important thing here. The stone used to build this dark creation was something straight out of legend. Nether brick and obsidian lined it's walls like scales on a Drake. A chill went down his spine, his pale skin growing bumps on it, and just as he had decided it was time to go he noticed a staircase.

One more look, he swore to himself as he tip toed across the stone. If anything was sleeping in the creation he didn't want to wake it. He also did not fancy tripping and tumbling into the molten lava beneath him. Beneath his feet a rock slipped, and he was soon sent peering over the edge, inches from the river of red.

He caught himself and quickly got his balance. He let out a sigh of relief, checking for all his belongings. All there, he thought to himself as a gentle growl came from ahead. He looked up only just in time to notice a undead beast before him.

He gritted his teeth, determined not to let fear control him. He was no fighter, but he had a brain unlike the creature in front of him. Reaching for the letter opener at his side he yelled out, plunging it into the Zombie. The creature let out a yelp as Lautrec shoved it into the molten river. Once more, it was silent, and Lautrec continued his adventure.

Turning the corner at the top of the stairs he noticed a opening. He could hear feint whispers from the walls, or perhaps it was but his imagination tricking him. Regardless, he stepped inside and peered around.

It opened into what could only be described as a storage room, something he had not expected at all from a place like this. He slipped out his notebook, his quill and ink cartridge, and began taking notes on the room and the tower. It fascinated him as most things of this nature did. He had a longing to learn more, he always hungered for more. More knowledge, more power, more life. He noted how this tower made him feel in his journal before closing it and putting away his supplies. For a while, he simply stood there. To him it felt like minutes, though it could have been hours. He reflected upon the tower and his last few days, standing there in a near meditative state. As he jolted awake, he headed outside to find the sun shining on the oblivion of a tower. He stood on the edge, basking in the glow of the river of death.

And just as silently as he came, he left, hoping to spread word of the dark tower to fellow scholars and enlightened. Hoping to one day find the purpose of such a dark creation.
