Your View: Horse Stealing

While not nearly as pressing an issue as Anthos, I believe that horse stealing is an issue that we should take care of before we get to 4.0. Right now the rules on stealing horses are rather... loose to say the least. How do you believe horse stealing should work besides the generic /modreq can I steal this horse? For example, should stealing from stables be allowed? Should there be a plugin for it? Comment below with your opinions.

Not sure if there should be a plug in, but i think it should still be in the game. If you leave your horse or mule out in the middle of no where unattended.. Well... It's your fault!

I believe the former rule was they can only be stolen if they were left unattended and not tied up.

I think it should be changed slightly. As I basically gave up on having horses.. In two weeks I lost about 5 horses. All by accident. One I left hte horse unattended for 5 minute because I had to ss away and go afk for a bit. And when I wanted to tp it back. It was taken. Aswell, a lot of people may loose horses due to lag for example disconnecting from the server due to a bad connection. Then coming back to your horse stolen.. I simply think it should be changed so that the owner is notified who owns it. Instead of people seeing a horse unattended. Just typing /modreq Can a mod please take this horse for me. And poof the person who buyed the horses money is down the drain with minimal if not any rp to take it.

I honestly believe there should be a way to steal horses, but at the same time there should be a way to protect them. All without needing to modreq. Just as you can lock chests I believe there should be a way to "Lock" your horse to keep it from being stolen, but I don't think it should be too easy, otherwise Horse stealing would be non-existent anyways

Maybe have a "chance to fail" the steal? Like the horse might be really loyal or stubborn (like a donkey), the horse could take off running when approached..Mod shows up, makes the thief RP how they are stealing it. Mod rolls dice (privately) and the horse acts accordingly.

Either a plugin or no regulation, at all. The staff should focus on streamlining and automating the gameplay as much as possible, as to reduce modreqs and GM interference (this benefits both players and staff, though players are in mind here). No player wants to sit around for a GM so they can do something in RP. Same reason we removed lockpicking and VA/MA.

The wait time could allow for the owner of the horse to show up. And that, in itself, creates RP.

I think the current system is fine. If someone can be bothered to do the RP to put their horse in a stable then it should be safe. Any horses left astray I feel that they can be stolen. Also stables should be able to be stolen from with permission from the stable owner.

I have never been able to keep a horse for more then a week. Whenever I leave it tied up outside my house or in the stables, somwbody breaks the lead, lets it out and claims they found it like thqt. Maybe if we could tell how long it has been since a horse was ridden? A week or so of being unattended and I think you should be able to steal it.

Only 1 horse per person. Stables should remain as safe zones for horses, because otherwise it would be bullcrap. If the horse is in a city, it should be RP'd with a GM. If the horse has a lead and is tied to some post, it should be left like that.
