This Is What I've Learned In Minecraft. What Have You Learned?

1. Do not go mining for diamonds without armor. Once you get them, HEAD STRAIGHT TO A CHEST TO STORE THEM

Creepers can one shot you, all hearts can go down to 0 if you have no armor at all. This is even if you don't get hit by any other mob on your way down. You also have to add up all the damage you took over time as well. Fall damage, falling in lava, ect. Many times, you will die AFTER you found the diamonds, adding salt to injury.

2. In PVP servers, don't trust anyone you don't know

Often times, random people will be looking for a faction to join. Unless you have an epic fancy castle loaded with members, that player will for sure betray you right after joining. Presentation goes a long way, and you don't want that player to think robbing you is more beneficial than joining you.

3. never dig straight down

Especially when you are roughly 70 blocks down. The chance & risk of falling in lava is greater than you think.

4. Don't always rely on going down to bedrock when looking for diamonds

Going to bedrock can either cause you to find diamonds instantly, or not for almost an hour. I've accidentally found more diamonds just simply exploring caves not even looking for diamonds, than I have actually going all the way down looking for them.

5. Build faaaaar away from the spawn (Particularly in PVP servers)

Thirty minutes out isn't far enough. That's how far out most people go. Once you walk for 1.5 hours, that's where you see significantly less buildings, but really it varies. Keep your eyes peeled!

6. When using mob spawners for XP, poisonous spider ones are a pain in the ass

Not really much else to say about this

7. Don't hide your chest under the floor boards

That's the first place looters will check if they don't see a chest with anything good in your house. any server if you want people to stay away from it, hide it away from your house, or get creative. Just don't make it that obvious.

8. Set up a trap

For players, created a fake shack that appears to be important, and owned. Put up a sign that improves believability such as "sckolar, i'll find more tomorrow" lay tnt underneath the floorboards, and make sure the door to the shack is iron so it is not breakable. If this does not kill the player, it will delay them. You can also put signs up to tell them to go in a different direction, saying that there is loot there, throwing them off course.

9. (Optional) Do not carry your best things while working around lava

You accidentally fall in, and you can lose everything. For example, if you fall in, then try to dump a bucket of water on the lava to stop yourself from burning, that will trap you underneath obsidian (Trust me, I've done this, hoping that I would magically get pushed out)

10.Don't build a portal inside your house without good security.

If another player enters that portal, they can end up in your house.

11. don't leave many creeper crater behind.

Let's say there is a server filled with 300 players, and they all leave 1 creeper crater, that's 300 of those things everywhere. It's ugly too

12. When dying/losing to another player, pick your battles. Don't immediently start messaging them in rage

This is not just in LOTC but almost any server. It is important to know what is more work: Trying to get a player banned (Let's assume it is a small hard to prove rule break) or just playing Minecraft and getting the items back yourself. Sometimes what appears to be easy is not so easy, but rather a time eating headache

13. Don't go AFK out in the open

Especially at night. If you die, you will never know who/what killed you. AFK where you are sure you are safe. Log off if you have to

14. The pen is mightier than the sword

Actually never mind, forget this one

The rest are Tacked on

14 Betray the best, and you'll be the best! Morals: -1 POWA +1

In PVP faction servers, betraying the best, and most advanced faction will make you rich, weaken their power, increase yours. The more times you are able to do this to those hot shots, the more powerful you become, and the better off you will be when starting your own!

15. Try not to build fire places inside wooden structures

You think you know what you are doing, but you probably don't. Take it safe

16. Upgrade your fps

If you have slow fps, once you upgrade, you will likely have more control

17. TNT can launch further than you think it can

With that in mind, it is so easy to accidentally switch to flint & steel and accidentally light it and kill yourself. Be careful.

18. Armor isn't just important in caves.

Keep that in mind. If it can keep you from being one-shotted by a creeper, it can do more

Anything people want to add? What have you learned while playing Minecraft? Do you disagree with one of the ones I have mentioned? reply, I'll add it in to the thread! I'm not adding mods that are generally against the rules & hacks.

...Or just use X-Ray for when on PVP servers.

On PVP servers make sure to quickly join and betray a huge faction to crush them and get rich. Soon the faction will collapse as the now poor members leave and strengthen other factions, causing a lot of small factions to try to become as huge as that faction once was. During that period there will be no dominating faction and so it'll be extremely exciting. And since you are now really rich the faction you join has a good chance of winning and becoming the new huge faction. Then when it gets boring betray again and make the server fairer again by taking down the big dog from the inside, again.

Avoid making fireplaces in wooden structures.

Don't play with lava. Lava is not a game.

Having low framerate generally creates a player who has better control of his/her character if ever upgraded to higher fps.

Never underestimate the range and destructiveness of TNT cannons.

Armor is more important than you think- it can mean life or death in many situations, especially if you play at a low framerate. Having iron armor and a stone sword is better than leather armor and an iron sword.

That's all I can think of right now.
