VonAulus 2082 Share Posted April 24, 2014 There is considerable room for new players within the four nations. Has no one considered a group of friends making orcs and joining us? You could gain a lot of influence within the existing nations if you would just become part of what already exists instead of your own little town. Better rp for more people.
Stag 3234 Share Posted April 24, 2014 We are going to be promoting the nations and cities that are along the CT road simply because we want to encourage RP in those cities. It will help centralize RP. Plots will be avaialable for groups to claim, including a couple large plots however the only other way that a faction could get regioned land is both in the wilds and with donor land. We 1: Want to keep the land beautiful so donor plots will keep nature as nature while allowing players the same diversity of where they can RP but not able to physically injure the land like what has been done to the fringe. and 2: Centralizing RP is a huge factor in how regions are being handled in 4.0 EDIT: Also there is no universal elven nation anymore. Just the High Elven Nation.
Ventusyr 233 Share Posted April 24, 2014 I'm fine with you relatively small groups, but until more new players show interest... They won't growand you won't get "privileges." I'm a tad bit confused by the "Oh, remove the favoritism of the four Descendant nations" because that's just what new people join. It's easier for them. They have consistent starting roleplay. Got my first job in Salvus, led to a series of amazing adventures that caught my interest for the server. Compared to the nations, you guys are small. I'm sorry, but that's a reality, and until you guys get a larger playerbase you can't expect to gain a prebuilt city or reserved land in 4.0. As some other people said, start hosting events to show people you exist. I had no idea Alras even existed until I stumbled across the lift the other day, and even then it was just some people doing small talk and empty shops all around. I don't even know what Fenn is. High Elves, you guys should get some more reputation, I think, because your city is fantastic and you guys provide superb roleplay, despite the walls. It's also much easier to focus on four nations than a whole bunch of small ones. The fragmented Oren during the beginning of Anthos was a headache to deal with. Just my three cents on the matter. 501warhead 1796 Share Posted April 24, 2014 I don't mind the 4 nations, however I would personally say to put a threshhold for when something can be made a "Nation" and get the perks that come with it, emerald pillar, subforum, mine, etc. This thresh hold I believe should be high, and something to aim for. I believe it should require a decent amount of active players, and a decent amount of money. Obviously I'm here representing Alras, saying what I will in it's benefit, but TBH most of our complaints are just summed up to nothing being clearly outlined, I personally, and many others, would work extremely hard to match a requirement. I would even enjoy the process, I love earning things, but at the moment lotc feels land-locked, like there isn't any room to grow or change. There's 4 nations which are GM mandated and all the other groups cropping up seem to just begin to eat weedkiller slowly. Also one system for making this functional is outlining how a nation can 'Fall' persay, a hard scenario to reach but if it was matched it could be disbanded and lose it's perks, this would apply to even the four racials. Why? Because the server should support dynamic RP, RP that changes how the world works, where the RP hubs end up shifting. The main issue with the current system is a nature of 'well, we're always going to be here.'

The main issue with the current system is a nature of 'well, we're always going to be here.' I gotta agree with this. Dynamic rp's been dead since Kalos to me. People can't do stuff they want such as make nations even if they had players and used to be shot down my the GMs, Admins and staff for the most part until recently. Edit: Temp maps always have more freedom, which is why people enjoy them, why not add this feeling from temp maps to the new map, and make people feel excited that if they try hard enough, they can achieve their goals? Ventusyr 233 Share Posted April 25, 2014 60+ Members plus currently housing the kha, dark elves and soon to be wood elves whilst there is no other elven nation. My point. I was saying you guys should get benefits because you have a large, active playerbase and provide good roleplay, which should be all that is required to be a full nation. Cultural question though... I thought only pure High Elves could enter/live in the city? Dark Elves and Kha especially seem to be the antithesis of mali'aheral supremacy. Did the customs change? Supremacy 3361 Share Posted April 25, 2014 The Kha have always been high elf friends (it helps the Kha can't make impure children). Everyone else is just being temporarily tolerated IC because the high elves know they're so messed up they need help.
Emp 209 Share Posted April 25, 2014 I don't understand the restriction on the Snow Elves being a sub-race... There must be 'official' sub-races with less activity and equal, if not less, merit.
hellfiazz 879 Share Posted April 25, 2014 How is removing bias towards Krugmar going to help Orcs prosper in any way? If we split we die, there's simply not the playerbase to sustain two factions.
