Remove Priveledges From The 4 Nations

Take away racial nation "perks" and you'll just end up with pretty much all mixed race nations. It would undermine the different races concept that kind of underpins the server. The racial cultures would begin to be smothered and die out too.

Alras, Helanor, IvyBend and the Princedom are not "startup factions with 4 members" they all have a very consistant player base and have ALOT more rp then some (One) of the main 4 nations.

But in all seriousness, the Racial Capitals (or Nations if you will) get privileges but also are subject to responsibilities. I realize how this may look for all of the weathered veterans, who have probably been part of one or more fledgling nations and tried our hardest to keep it going. But these racial nations also provide a certain degree of consistency. We NEED somewhere for new players to go, a default resort where they will find roleplay and be acquainted with people of their character's race.

Why do you think having an Elven nation is such a big deal? Without one the Elves have scattered into different interpretations extremely quickly, and now there's more than a little discord over which creed will prevail.

I want to say that I like this idea as it brings one thing LOTC lacks a lot of, innovation, new ideas to the table, new people with different ideas in charge instead of recycling the friend niches of each nations "Nobility" (Nobility in quotes due to the fact not all sponsor nobility in the same way as traditional kingdoms like, say, Oren does).

There's nothing to stop say, a new nation starting up that people like, and thus migrate to until finally they just take the place of one of the other four main nations. That isn't destroying a nation in any sense of the word, that starting nation would still be there but under the guise of something more popular than the previous.

It doesn't even need to be nations technically, you could have city states or counties with its own laws and rule to start with which may eventually turn into kingdoms or Empires or whatever. Nations don't start off as nations.

Actually, now that I think about it this is what the current Oren did to get where it is in Asulon...

It seems a bit Hypocritical now to deny others from doing the same when you let it happen in the past.

The four descendant nations get a certain degree of protection for the sake of stabilizing the server and balancing the choices and opportunities we offer our new players. If you have a strong, active, populated fledgeling nation that is being entertained, you've already got all the privileges you need to work with. Combine that with upcoming population-based plots, and I'm not sure what anyone's complaining about, other than not being able to pre-build your keeps. Most of these nations are cliques anyway, and we need to offer something consistent to the new players that may not know where they fit in yet.

If say, the human population was split into 3 nations then there may be a large split in rp for the humans, which would either cause everyone to move to one nation anyways, or get bored and go with a more centralized race.

That happened and we were fine. Don't you remember Renatus, Hanseti and Salvus?

From my perspective, these 4 nations provides the necessary stability and content for LotC. Its the baseground this community is founded upon. Players like Senda have also worked hours on the development of these nations.

I believe removing those privileges would only remove our stability,

Yeah. If these nations aren't catered to then the server could collapse into tons of mini-states, each with ten people. That would be pretty annoying for new and old players alike. While I do think that Renaus, Hanseti and Salvus were fine, that was mostly because it was only for a few months and the Human race was by far the largest.

The orcs maybe be small but we are growing in numbers slowly, three new orcs have joined in the last week (20% of the population). Here is a visual representation of our population growth.

May not actually be such a bad thing. I'm concerned about racial divides and cultures being annihilated though. New nations tend to be "loving accept all races" types.
