Catarrh 720 Share Posted May 1, 2014 ((Hello, RP forum readers. As some of you may be aware, I'm quite an active member of the orc rp communtiy, and take great interest in helping to improve/revive orcish culture rp. I've noticed not many people seem to know very much about orcs, and though it probably shouldn't be necessary to post the following links, I think it is. I've decided to simply post a link to the orc wiki, as well as a couple other orc-related links. Like I said, this probably shouldn't be necessary, as these things are easy to find, but I'm beginning to think a lot people don't even read orc lore before making orc characters anymore. So, I'm posting these links to assist anyone who may be interested in an orc character. Also, to those of you who don't intend to make orc characters, you may find this useful in case you ever want to know what to expect from an orc encounter. Orc Wiki: http://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/Orcs Orcish Roleplay forums: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/16-orcish-roleplay/ All lot of the stuff on the following link will be very old and a bit out-of-date, but it still has some useful information: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/24133-orc-important-threads/ For those interested in orc religion: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/377-shamans/ and http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/105917-shaman-lores/ Honor Laws: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/105097-honor-laws-of-the-war-nation/ I actually ended up posting more links than I thought I would, but I feel these will give people a good grasp on orc thought and culture. Also, on one last note, the Blah (Orcish language) is not a hard language. I've noticed a lot of people saying stuff like, "I'd make an orc, but I don't understand the language." It's not hard! The Blah is essentially just English with phonetic spellings and some different words taken from this dictionary http://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/Blah. For anything not in this dictionary, you would just misspell an ordinary English word, while still making sure it remains similar when read aloud. For example, the word "fire" would be something like "Fyur," or "nation" might be typed as "nayzhun" (typically, S's are replaced with Z's). "Come to my house" becomes "Kom tu mi blarg." (blarg is the orc word for house). It's just a matter of practice. Anyways, forgive me if I got a bit rambly in this post, but hopefully this proved useful to anyone curious about the orcs.))
