What The Media Team Should Be Doing (Constructive Criticism!)

The News Feedback

 

First thing's first...stop focusing on stuff like news. It sucks, completely honest. It's not bad, I probably couldn't do better with regards to video editing, music, etc. But It's out of place. 

 

If you're going to do news at least make it ... more fitting to the setting of lord of the craft. When you think lord of the craft medieval fantasy server. Magical. Lord of the rings inspired, etc etc...do you think dubstep?

 

I mean, you are all in the media team...but you DO ACTUALLY ROLE PLAY HERE, right? You are ROLE. PLAYERS. So...ROLE PLAY! Have fun with the news, make it exciting or at least so corny it's funny. Embarrass yourselves and stuff. Have FUN with it, and make it seem like you're having fun. If you don't look like you're having fun/sound like it then no one will enjoy watching it unless they hate you or something. I doubt that's the case with most people, so you're approach to the news needs to change.

 

Now, onto what I think you should do instead of the news...

 

The Suggestions

 

 

If I were in charge I would, maybe my idea is stupid, make the following videos or have them made.

 

Lore of the Craft Series

       -Races (each race/notable subrace/halfbreed gets their own episode). Make this sort of thing detail their general lore/history, their curse, blessing, appearance, attributes, culture, etc. etc. Have some footage and pictures of the various races doing their thing. Make sure to do plenty of research on that. This would be priority.

 

After that make more videos detailing interesting bits of lore that should be commonly known, and such, Things like magic, creatures (frost witches, dryads, etc), ancient history.

 

Also high on the priority for this would be the base lore for the server. Ie the decendant stuff, origins, etc. Then nation/race capitals. The possibilties are so rich. You have a massive index of STUFF to draw from, use it!

 

Lord of the Craft, A history

     basically as it says. Take certain stories/events and write them out in story form, or use threads that people had made up and try to make a video around it. Maybe get someone to do some animation/art to act the stuff out. That would be really cool. How about the cinematic retelling of the fall of Setherien, huh? Or the undead, or the Mori, etc. 

 

Maybe the cities and such could fall under history instead, or perhaps just the old cities.

 

I'm sure you can come up with more stuff, I'm not media team atm, so I can't really give you much.

 

 

Lord of the Craft, For Dummies

     - Video. Tutorials. Must much more than this be said? How doe sthis plugin work? What about that one? How does the pvp default rule operate in various circumstances? How do we do magic? How do I lock my door!? Craftbook? What's that? How do I breed a horse? How do I provide fun RP for all and myself as well? How do I...? How does this...? What about...? You see where I'm going? Huge possibilities you can go from there.

Tbh I remember the MT did interviews of PLAYERS(Not staff, I'll be honest, no one cares about the staff interviews), there was this cool interview of the Ascended leader and that was a nice insight into their playerbase. They should begin doing that again instead of cringe worthy videos..

Secondly, we are actually talking about projects like what you have just suggested. They end up scrapped or not worked on because we feel their quality was too low. We are working on something similar to those however, so thats good. The news is currently on Hiatus until otherwise stated (except the media morning herald)

I do player interviews as well as staff on the herald. I am OPEN to people wanting to be a part of it, other wise I just pick people at random or follow a list I have.
