I reckon the community is actually going into a positive direction now. Most of the prickish people have left, and Oren for one, is more friendly towards new people. But then again, we're a very hostile nation ICly.

I dunno, there isn't a way to fix people's opinions really..

So is this how this topic will come to an end? There has been no solution for this problem, and this server really needs one, there are too many jerks on here who love to harras you and make you feel bad. There really needs to be a solution for all of these people, I don't really want to see this topic end without a real solution for this problem, I think everyone who's reading this needs to try to help fix the community, because one person won't be able to do it, and we all know that. If everyone actually tries to be nice, if everyone reading this starts being nice to eachother, that would get us somewhere, I'm not saying this probelm can be fixed entirely by just being nice to eachother, there are still people who won't do it, but we can atleast try to make this community better.

I believe that a root of the problem is an inflated sense of entitlement. Too many people think that they own this server and instead of taking developments as a change to "the game" as you would for a console release, its in some way a personal attack on you and your kingdom of pixels. We are all builders of a story. But if you disappeared altogether, the story would go on. Humility is an admirable trait and not weakness. I just feel like people should be more willing to take things as they are. And the easiest thing for that is a complete fresh start to come with new eyes.

 

So Lago asked for solutions: 4.0 is a total wipe. That's my solution. Just as most world changes before it, we should enter with no items, no cash, nothing. And whatever event that is whirring around in the LM and ET brains for the End of Ze World, it should provide an opportunity for mass PK'ing. Not forced PK. But as an advisory that perhaps we've built up too much around ourselves and would benefit from getting the fresh perspective about what this place REALLY is by starting over.

 

If you tick off a few of the OP boxes, then maybe you should seriously consider a PK. Start as a completely different race. Not an alt, but main character to get invested in. Try doing things totally differently and see what another corner of the server looks like.

 

But this IS the internet of Generation Z and the community are more prone to attack each other from behind the protection of the miles that separate them from their opponent. And that is never going to go away.

I can agree with this, but I'm not sure if people with OP characters will actually PK them. I do think we should all just try to be nice, and we should all just try to make this community better, there will always be people who will try to hurt us, but if we leave those people be, and show them their behavior cannot be tolerated they may stop.
