The Templar 195 Share Posted July 7, 2014 The Mali'ker have rebuilt at last, a stable community rests beneath the arrogant overwatch of the Mali'aheral. Those who would oppose them have fled before the Crimson-Silver concordat, made so long ago. Families have arisen, children have been born, and a stalwart, if a bit lacking, guard corps has manifested. However, as the timeless knowledge of Malin's kin can attest, things never go so easily for those born of ashen skin, and silvered hair. There is a deep breath taken in, before the plunge.. The good times are at their end, illness, has come to Ker'lomi, at a time when it can be ill-afforded. The Riv'tahu Yriel Blackthorn, has come down with an ailment his medicine does not cure, that panacea does not heal, robbing elker'cihi of it's first line of defense as he seals himself within his infirmary, lest it be contagious. ElDiv'cruan finds it's leader sequestered, without a successor immediately available to lead in his absence. To compound their troubles, any observant mali'ker who stand upon the walls, might make out red eyes that glow with an unnatural malevolence, staring at their walls, opalescent teeth glinting with a predatory smile. Strange noises would echo and harass the noble fi'taliiyna who stood their vigil at the gate and on the wall, dark shadows creeping around them, wails of tortured children echoing around them. Truly, a pernicious evil has appeared.. ((Get ready people, Dwarf Fortress levels of Fun inbound!))

Lyuin 65 Share Posted July 7, 2014 Lyuin's ventures beyond the wall had lasted only a brief time. However it was the night upon his return he first noticed...'them.' They came as shadows of sorts, least the rational mind or one inexperienced with matters of this nature would perhaps choose to define it as such a thing. Lyuin doubted they were such a thing. It was during the nights where he chose to ignore the dried-cracked ground created by the drought that he thought he heard the wails of children. The notion he dismissed, hearing such a thing was not a healthy sign. It was not until he was weary that he thought he could make out a set of red eyes glaring out from the immense darkness that surrounded the area. Shuddering he quickly retreated inside, telling himself it was simply caused by fatigue. As he lay awake, he shuddered repeatedly, his eyelids drooping as he slid into an uneasy sleep. He was plagued by images of the darkness, it's scarlet eyes bore into his mind. The teeth, set in a sickly grin. His eyes snapped open, the previous images flashing in front of him like a psychopathic highlight reel of the moments before. Breathing out a sigh of relief and a nervous chuckle,he straightened his posture, moonlight pouring through the window. He was parched with thirst, so he craned his neck to take the mug of water that sat on his table. Then at that moment, he finally saw the sickening red eyes outside his windows and once again a yell filled his ears. This time, it was his.

The Templar 195 Author Share Posted July 10, 2014 "Am I going crazy?" thought the young Fi'taliiyna of ElDiv'cruan, as he stood upon the walls, shivering with each new wail of petrified terror and pain echoing around Ker'lomi. The noises intensified as he quivered, looking around, before ceasing, being replaced by highly menacing growls. "W-Where's my spontoon?" He thought, panicking, his hand straying to his Shamshir as he began to look around. It was too late. A mighty direwolf, black as midnight, eyes the color of blood, glowing with a strange malevolence, had leaped right upon the trembling Mali'ker. A yelp escaped him as he fell, already attempting to draw his sword, only to be ceased in his actions by a tremendous bite from the wolf's murderously powerful jaws upon his shoulder! Shrieks of Agony began to echo forth from his mouth, his shoulder would be lost with a powerful wrench of the Dire Wolf's head, further agonies entombing him. Except that never happened.. "Chirr! Oi! Look!" Crying out aloud, was the lone Mali'ker Drui remaining in Elker'cihi. The Div'cruan would simply whimper in exquisite pain, whilst the Druid, using his eldritch connection to nature, a failure though his persuasions were, bought time for three more of Malin's kin to arise to the Wall, and scare off the Wolf. One of Nature's supreme hunters, had been run off without life nor limb being lost. Following his retreat, however, were the calls of other dire wolves. Through his connection to Nature, the druid was filled with foreboding, for the howls told him, that this was not over, not while a reckoning was yet to be made...
