Munch 176 Share Posted July 8, 2014 If you remember that simple but beautiful plugin back in Asulon, you'll remember how fun it used to be. Levelling up your skills and fighting others with those gold axes, prices for gold rose, and it had a purpose; now it's useless. Hopefully everyone will support this idea as it will bring back some aspects that Lord of the Craft has lost, and held so dearly to many players. +1 for 7-1 plz

Daisy 9735 Share Posted July 8, 2014 Do not worry friend! Although the original skills plugin will not be returning, the tech team has coded a full out professions plugin that will be making it's first appearance in 3.5.5. A lot of work has been put into this, and I am sure it will satisfy what you want. It will be present in 4.0 as well.

_pok_ 1768 Share Posted July 8, 2014 Honestly, please do at least something similar in the way of combat with the gold axes and stuff. It gives mining gold value and also makes combat more fun and also more tactical. What people fail to remember or understand about the plugin was that it made entering combat risky as hell while also totally leveling the playing field. It effectively made hacking useless and essentially detrimental to succeeding in PvP and in that way was a plus. Since it was so easy to die fighting was made tactical and you could use actual combat strategy using light armored soldiers, heavy armored soldiers, and archers. It made a use for everything and battles were not exclusively people running around in diamond armor [or now, iron].
River 555 Share Posted July 8, 2014 Tbh, Asulon was the most fun I had on LotC, mostly because of intense RP and the skills plugin which helped encourage professions, which also encouraged unique rp among different players. I know that the Developers and team is focused on 4.0 and plugins, but it seems to me that you have the magic plugin, you have a plugin more focused on the actual crafting process, while also making professions mechanically better, but there still isn't progression between all the professions, there's progressing in blacksmithing, hopefully leather working for leather, but I don't see much progression in your chosen skill. If there was a progression element, and plugins that could be made to help encourage RP, then LotC would truly have all the plugins it would ever need. Elindor 666 Share Posted July 8, 2014 Yeah. This should really just be locked right now. There's literally a brand new professions plugin only moments away.

Munch 176 Author Share Posted July 8, 2014 Completely agree with Pok, and Nordic. I hope this new professions plugin can bring back that tactic styled fighting that made fighting in Asulon so thrilling and enjoyable. Please mates, make it happen. Munch 176 Author Share Posted July 8, 2014 I was once a new player and at first it was annoying having to get people to craft things for me, but over time I came to love it as it brought so much roleplaying among people who I normally wouldn't talk to at all.
River 555 Share Posted July 8, 2014 I had a guy travel for an hour in Asulon (other end of the map), just so he could get something crafted. The diving helmet was a big seller. The old plugin really discouraged new players however, lets not beat around the bush. I pray and hope the new plugin is versatile enough to cater to old and new alike. When I came back, the skills plugin was 70% of why I returned, the other 30%, was because I happened to get stuck with a great group of good RPers. mmat 7460 Share Posted July 8, 2014 How did it make hacking useless? I'm not doubting the statement, just wandering. I do support a simple plugin though, but I'm trusting the techs to not let us down.

I do support a simple plugin though, but I'm trusting the techs to not let us down. Think about how it worked. If you hacked there was a chance you could get your weapon broken. I remember PvPing Timayame when he hacked and it was hilarious because he would click so fast that it would just break weapons. It was comical to see and I think I said it wrong but it was very easy to tell if somebody was hacking.
