Late one night, when the wind blows past the hills and over the water of the Halflings town, an eerie echo sounds the woods. Like a deep bass, the rumble was felt more than the noise was heard. The Halflings, living in such deep forest and knowing that creatues of all noises scamper about, payed little attention to this shaking roar, even as it stopped and started through the evening.

Come the late night, when even the most tough night owls had fallen asleep, the the sound returned. Now, beeping, wailing, and shaking. Such noise woke even the rocks, as it was so close and sound high pitched, coming from the fields. When the sleeping halflings had finally pulled themselves from their slumber, and out on their night robes (some mumbling and yelling for the idiot who is making the noise to stop) they would walk outside to see a bright light! Bright like the sun, or a lit candle, but white like snow. A flash, and the light spewed upwards, disappearing in the stars which looked all the same.

Amazing, never such speed has been seen before by the Halfling! Some look up and ponder, was this the Pumpkin Lord? Odd, he never came with such light before..

"Look! Look! In the fields!"

Yes, in the fields! Two figures are rummaging the wheat, pushing and swaying it! In the dark night, it is impossible to see exactly what race they are, though they appear thin like Elves. They scamper through, making weird noises to one another as they escape off into the forest.

Nothing remains from the event but a burnt, mushed circle of Wheat, a Crop Circle.

Was this some sort of racial farm attack? Or was it something even worse...?
