Matt011011 166 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Milo sat on the edge of the fireplace inside the tavern of Shortwood, sipping on his beer, watching halflings from around the village funnel into the inn and find a seat on the floor. He waited a moment as everyone got their food and beverage, taking one last swig of his drink before setting it down by his side. "Quiet, lads. Quiet." he speaks as he raises his hand toward the crowd as the tavern falls silent. "I'm sure ye been wonderin' where ol' Milo 'as been for past few months n' I'm goin' to tell yeh. It was towards the end o' Ivybend, when we were 'avin' our party. I 'ad jus' finished constructin' the giant pump'in lord 'ead n' I was inspectin' the abstract art we 'ad made o' iron in the middle o' the lake when a crazy fish named Chris leaped out o' the water n' struck me over the 'ead wit' a 'ammer knocking' me out cold!" Some of the halflings in the tavern gasp, while others remain silent as they listen to the old hobbit speak. Milo waits a moment before continuing on with his story. "Now I know some o' ye ain't goin' to believe me n' thats ye choice, but what I say is true. After I came to I was in a pitch black room, unable to move or do anythin'! Naturally I made a snarky comment to m'self but the crazy fish mus' o' 'eard me 'cause I the next thing I knew a voice came from no where tellin' me that I would now be trapped longer for that 'un! I thought 'bout makin' another comment but decided it was bes' to jus' keep m'mouth shut n' wait out m'imprisonment. Mus' o' been a elven week or more I sat there, it was 'ard to keep track 'cause I couldn't see the sun or any o' that. But, after waitin' for what seemed like forever I was knocked out 'gain. This time when I awoke I was in a new land wit' nothin' but the clothes on m'back. After standin' there confused for a moment I asked 'un o' the nearby monks what 'ad 'append n' where the rest o' m'fellow wee-folk were. She was kind enough to inform me o' what 'ad occurred n' point me in the direction that lead me 'ere to re-join m'people in our fine village where we are today! N' for that I'm grateful" he says with a smile as he picks his beer back up from his side. "Cheers, mates!" he shouts before beginning to chug what remains of his beer.

Crayfishchris 751 Share Posted July 25, 2014 And so the crazy fish waits and watches, looking for the most opportune moment to snag yet another halfling and use their joy as fuel for his latest machination. However, it looks slightly disgruntled as he looks over his mottled scarlet carapace. "I'm a crustacean," it mumbles.
