Bravepaw 178 Share Posted July 24, 2014 The sun is quickly making its way to the morning horizon, but isn't quite there yet. The sky in the east melds from a bright and brilliant orange to blue to the black of night where many stars are still visable in the western skies. A breeze blows through Bravepaw's leafy beard, awakening him from a long slumber. The morning dew gathers along his bark like skin. Once his eye lids creak open to start the day, he sees that the dawn has not yet reached him like the days before. His feet, like the roots of the great trees of the world, are dug deep into the soil as to allow him to withstand any winds up to strong gale forces. As he looks up above him, his oaky face fills with joy, the wait of morning gone. Orlanden sleeps peacefully on a bed of soft moss next to Brave's feet. Beneath Brave's leafy hair-canopy, he would be kept dry if any rain tried to creep up during the night. Orlanden's eyes open as if he were startled out of his sleep and soon widen as he realizes what occured over night as he feels incredibly dwarfed by sheer witnessed majesty. With a grin on his face he says to Bravepaw, "I think it's time once again, brother. Let's spread the word." An Elder Tree has blossomed! After Days of chanting and praying by Bravepaw and nurting from Orlanden, the mighty sentient being made of pure nature has blessed us with his birth! Orlanden and Bravepaw pack their saddlebags and set out on horseback to every city they can, to every crossroad, to every inn. From nailing posters to announcing speeches, they spread the word of the birth of this tree; the next in a long linage of Elder Trees. Day by day they make it their quest to see that all people who will listen know of what has just taken place. * You come across a poster thatt reads: * "My brother, Orlanden, and I are honored to announce that the next Elder Tree has blessed us with its birth and is now seeking out its family! Long ago, when I was High Prince of Malinor and my brother Prince, we made a promise to Malin's children, many of who so desperately cried out to us on our day of resignation from power. We swore to create a sanctuary for out brothers and sisters. We planted the Elder Seed within Talonni, the town which was gifted to us by our Mali kin. The Elder Tree took root right away, but waited for the right time to fully mature. The Elder Tree's soul expressed to me that it is known as Hollow Root, so Hollow Root it is named. It is seeking out Wood Elves of old: The clan folk. Orlanden and I have resurrected traditions of old Mali'ame and are going back to our roots like we believe Malin intended. We call out to all true Mali'ame, or Wood Elves as it is called in the common tongue, and any other person of any race who wishes to enjoy a peaceful and happy lifestyle amongst nature. If you wish to take up old traditions and join the Osage Clan in the new birthed Elder Tree, seek us out or send either of us a letter by bird ((Bravepaw and Orlanden)). If you are a traveler and would rather simply visit or trade, do take note that we are a peaceful clan, but will not hesitate to sling an arrow into your skull if you are deemed a threat. So, we ask that you please come in kindness and respect." - Bravepaw & Orlanden, Leaders of the Osage Clan (( Lore References: http://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/Normandor http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/75201-acceptedbravepaws-pre-purge-va-application/?hl=bravepaw ))
WuHanXianShi14 0 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Art looks between the all-but-abandoned and unbuilt Lin'ame, and the new Osage-Talonnii settlement, he rubs his chin before returning to Oren's frontier provinces, ambivalent to it all, though he may show up in Talonnii on occasion to mooch off their farms. Diddyski 132 Share Posted July 24, 2014 *Alltan sits down beneath the Elder tree reading the announcement after writing a short story* "Hmm... It will be great to see more of a community of all race's working together instead of fighting. Also would spruce up the market and trade around the lands!" *He then packs up his paper and quill to get some dinner*

Orlanden 33 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Orlanden emerges from the local general store with a variety of goods that he was able to obtain by trading meat and hides from his and Brave's hunts. He packs things in his satchel and their saddlebags as he speaks with Brave about a new recruit, "Just met a middle aged Man in the store. He expressed his interest in joining the clan. He said he'd be by Talonni in the next couple of weeks." A large smile overcomes his visage, "We're doing right by the people and they are responding well. I'm thankful we're able to share our good fortune with others."
Katherine1 362 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Leyun looked at the poster curiously. Elder Tree? Born? Elder Trees didn't come along without either a lot of time or a lot of druidic coaxing. Something seemed strange there. Elder Seed? What was that? Seeds from Elder Trees didn't bare any special properties. It was all quite strange to her, and the writer of the poster claimed it had spoken to him? Stranger still. Leyun decided the best way to deal with this was to learn more. It was hardly the longest walk she'd ever gone on to reach the Talonii encampment, and above the newly grown tree stretched. Something didn't feel right with it, but she couldn't quite pinpoint what. Perhaps the best thing to do was ask around. Certainly someone would be willing to share the history of the tree with her. So she approached the gate, looking to be let into the settlement. (( Someone want to RP with me? :3 ))
DISCOLIQUID 2731 Share Posted July 25, 2014 Sorensil scratches her head, and mumbles something. "An Elder tree? Grown in a matter of days? Preposterous."
OldeTymer 323 Share Posted July 25, 2014 Archdruid Callax rolls his eyes, huffing with dissatisfaction and utter annoyance. He explains to the questioning Druids and Elves present at the grove... "The Osage Clan's tree is no Elder Tree; it's a purely unnatural abomination spawned from the void! Great Elders trees are extremely rare to come by, as they gain their sentience from millennia of growth. The one Bravepaw has not grown an Elder Tree, in fact, it is impossible for him, even with aid of his friends, to have grown such a large tree. Only a large group of powerful Druids may channel the Gifts of Nature over an extended period of time to grow what could be called an Elder Tree. No Elf of the Osage is a Druid nor do they share the connection with nature that we Druids do. There is only one explanation: this tree he claims to have sentience and be Elder is merely a conjuration from the void. It is no different than the tricks of an arcane mage." He concludes with his lips pursed and his head slowly shaking from side to side. [[OOC snipped by moderator.]]

Lee Scorsby 34 Share Posted July 25, 2014 *Old man Lee's jaw drops as he sees the poster* "I.. I don't know what to say? My old friends are still alive? And got themselves another tree? Oh joy!" *With his staff he slowly makes his way down the road* "It will be good to see them again. Might take a while to get there but I will try." Orlanden 33 Share Posted July 25, 2014 ((Old Man Scorsby! We can't wait to see you!)) Orlanden looks up from his reading every now and again as he sees people stop in their tracks and marvel at Hollow Root. It would appear some have come just because of the tree, just to see it. He simply smiles and waves at the passers by, and makes small talk with all those who wish it and goes back to his reading with each person's departure. Orlanden 33 Share Posted July 25, 2014 ((Brave, myself, and the Druids now have everything cleared up, as I'm told. I'm having a FM clear all of the OOC junk from this thread because it's taking far too much away from our RP post in trying to recruit members to our clan.)) A while after talking with Bug and accepting him to the clan, Orlanden finally finishes his book. He stands up, stretches, and after seeing that no one else is around, he climbs up and into his hammock that's hanging from the shaded canopy and closes his eyes as the winds calmly swing the hammock back and forth, rocking him to sleep.
