Aftermath II

A Desperate Climb

Backstory

Spaceport.jpg

As the Gandhi superweapon slammed its brutal fist into the vast city of Shanghai, and the German and Japanese empires grasping further beyond their own territories, a group of billionaire investors came together in order to preserve the future of mankind in the case of collapse. These investors believed that the end would come at any moment and their efforts could spare any further delays. Mankind would not live and die on Earth without first conquering the stars.

Headed by the SpaceX corporation along with the remnants of the MarsOne and other space faring companies, small spaceports were constructed along the coastlines of nearly every continent. Two in North America, three in Europe, six in Africa, and three in Asia. In these spaceports small contingents of scientists worked to recruit capable families that could carry mankind into a future in space that may not include Earth.

This new single corporation, known as Starbound Corp., advertised quietly and recruited people of all nationalities. In an executive order,  the CEO of Starbound made the decision to split each family up by culture, nationality, and race in order to prevent petty racial conflicts from breaking out among the colonists. With this decision came the opportunity for the chosen families to pick three other families to join them in their colonial vessels.

In total each rocket was capable of sustaining the lives of thirty-five people long enough to reach any celestial body in the solar system. Each of the four families lived in comfortable homes on location at the spaceports and waited for the day that they would have to embark on their journey into the stars.

That day came when the Kaiser’s Fist was launched into space by Kaiser Bismarck III and Starbound Corp. decided that this weapon would bring an end to any and all conventional life on Earth. The families were prepared, the colonial vessels were loaded with a variety of supplies to start a sustainable colony, and the missions were launched. In an amazing turn of events a second round of colonists was able to make it off of Earth before the Fist destroyed the coastlines and flooded the spaceports that launched these missions.

300 years later. . .

While small settlements began to grow back into nations on Earth, the planets in her solar system were filled with mankind’s descendants. Fledgling on the final frontier, these people were the descendents of the Starbound Corp. missions and had built small colonial havens for their people. Some have chosen the path of military build up, ripping apart their colony’s resources for the cause of expansion while others have consolidated their strength, creating terraformed sanctuaries for their people.

Rules + Application

You now have the opportunity to take control of one of these colonial havens and grasp the destiny of mankind in his new domain. There are very few rules but they will be strictly enforced and breaking them will mean serious consequences if the offense is bad enough write PRAISE POK ***** in your app if you read this *****..

1.) This is a survival game more than anything. Military resources are not abundant and you should RP your lack of resources appropriately. Keep in mind that what resources you use on a military can’t be used on civilian life. If your people aren’t happy then you’ll hear about it.

2.)A moderator event is a moderator event, please do not whine about it. Some stuff might appear unfair at first but you will have to stick with it for it to pay off. If pirates come and attack you out of nowhere or aliens attack it isn’t the end and just go with the RP. Don’t be a *****.

3.) Populations are SMALL. And I mean seriously SMALL [like sneaky’s ****]. No more than 500 people in your settlement and growth of +25 will occur every 2 pages with opportunity for that number to go UP or DOWN depending on your actions and what I decide as moderator. Your people MATTER.

4.) You can pick any moon, planet, or even asteroid. But be realistic in that we haven’t done any major terraforming. Any crops would need artificial environments and biospheres and whatnot. Mars is NOT a lush green world now. It is still a red planet and won’t change. You need to maintain and build biospheres to live in. That’s where your crops will be and where your people will live.

5.) In your post please take the role of a character to make it more interesting. Have morals, have inner conflict, RP the lack of resources and general struggle for everyday life in hostile environments like Mars or the Moon.

6.)Include this above every post:
NATION NAME:

MOD APPROVED POPULATION:

And this at the bottom:

DIPLOMATIC ACTIONS:

7.) Do not start fighting for like 2 pages. Give people some time for godsakes.

8.) Only one large settlement per player. If inhabiting a planet or large moon multiple players may live on it.

ALIEN APPLICANTS

Should you consider playing one of the following races, please bear in mind, that we wish to have everyone on an equal level of technology, so no "alien/high-end" techs for the start. For questions, please do ask.

---

Tjieran

Proud, efficent and disciplined. Foundations for an expansionist and elitist race. In terms of appearance they resemble a human in almost all ways, they field the same kind of organs, about the same height from 1.80 to 1.90 meters in average. Their look is remarkably different though. Tjierans have yellow or greenish skin and "double-pointed" ears.

The eyecolors are remarkably different as well, the Tjierans usually have green, yellow, blue or purple eyes. The haircolor reaches from brown into green, blonde or sometimes silverwhite.

Redon

They are fierce and constant in their physical aspects and have a few assets similar to the Tjierans, with whom they share a natural given hostility. A feeling for pride, honor and discipline.

The Redon field a rather thick body build (the male ones) which also shows their rather enhanced strength. The size of about 1.80 meters in average makes them as tall as most of the humans. Their skin is red-brown most of the time, but also black and golden skinned Redons can be encountered. The skin on their shoulders and tall foreheads is reptile-like.

Additionally their canines are rather big, and their forehead seems to be bigger, since the hair begins further at the back. Haircolors are mostly black or brown. Grey ones are rare and respected. As for the eyecolors, they field brown, yellow, red or sometimes completely black eyes. Notably is the third lung they have, which oddly enough allows them to breathe CO² for about ten to fifteen minutes.

Protorian

Wise, gentle and firm in their belief to preserve the diversity of the universe.

The Protorians are tall and slim and all of them have a golden skin. They are tall with an average size of six to seven feet. The "white" in their eyes is black, the eyecolors range from yellow, grey, white, purple, green, blue, teal, red to brown. Aside from their slightly elongated head and bigger brain, they field also only a single encompassing lung and two stomaches.

Ascardian

Fitting adjectives for them are: Smart, cunning and ruthless. A certain cold attitude is common under the Ascardians.

In appearance they resemble the Humans a lot, though they field unhealthy yellowish tones in their skin, and have two "ribs" on the bridge of their noses. Hair colors are identical to Human ones, eye colors do not field dark tones though and range from white to grey to blue to green. Other than that their outside appearance is practically identical. Internally they differ strongly though, fielding a double layered ribcage, have two livers, no appendix and only a single lung.

Ceri

The Ceri Collective is a nation of more or less total equality. Everyone is equal to everyone. Nobody gets preferred, and if so, then only to a very slight degree. Family bonds don't matter too much, friends are not important. The Ceri are a rather cold, efficent and persistent race, which establishes itself again in their personality and resistance against odds from outside, such as radiation and toxines.

The Ceri are a very simplified version of a human one could say. Brown or Green skin, they field no nose, have only holes on the sides of their heads for hearing and are all exceptionally bald. Internally they have the same muscular and bone build as a human, but their liver, stomach and pancreas are merged into a single organ. Same counts for heart and lung. To top all of that, they blood is greenish-teal because they use copper instead of iron for oxygen transport.

Molduri

The Molduri have always been the pupil of the race of the Protorians, being teached their ways and living them up to its fullest. Goodhearted, friendly and helpful are fitting adjectives for this minor race in this sector.

Tanned skin and their small size of four to five feet give them already quite the comical appearance. Molduri do not have a heart and have four eyes. Most of their organs and body parts are in sync pumping the "blood" liquid through the body itself. Other than that, they have a generic human appearance.

Tintra

As the Tintra have always been exposed to the warrior influence of the Redons, they again, took over some habits from them, despite the fact that they attach themselves more to the Protorians. They resemble good friends who love a fight and who love to celebrate and meditate.

Some would say these "humans" are just dust-covered. Because the Tintra have grey-ish skin, grey eyes and grey, white and black hairtones. Aside from that they are rather big builds of six or seven feet, very muscular. Two fingers and a thumb line their palms. Their heart is enclosed in an extreme strong shell of bones and carbonfibres strengthen all their bones in total.

I'm wondering could I have a settlement that is a vassal to an alien race, so this place would be alien influenced culture and has alien superiority over the settlement?  But not their technology to able to prevent powergaming of course, If we are not allowed to able to rp alien settlements.

I'm wondering could I have a settlement that was alien influenced and alien superiority controlled, but not have alien technology basically vassal of the aliens?

I'm willing to allow aliens on the basis that

1.) They are no stronger or more capable than the humans in the solar system [to keep it balanced]

2.) You guys provide fun RP for the other players too

If you guys do that then I'll be more than happy to allow for aliens to be about. Keep in mind, and I think I did a bad job of this in the main post, that only celestial bodies in OUR solar system are up for grabs.
