Your culture is beyond repair because certain people have decided to do something stupid and making You all the ultimate laughing stock and everyone's raid on sight list This is coming from a former snow elf, a snow elf princess. I have put as much effort as I could to try to fix the snow elves and believe it or not, I had a lot of outside support to overthrow the Prince because he was being a detriment to the rest of the snelves IC and OOCly, but it was somehow stopped before it started. My efforts were in vain. And even if I could succeed, the damage was done after Oren demolished the snelves and there was no point in playing a snelf. I know you are a former Tundrak, buff's daughter, and u did the best u could. But when Oren demolished us our spirits died, then rose to a point I didnt think was possible for a Snow Elf. I am just going to do as much as I can, if I fail, so be it. If I succeed, GREAT! Because like I've said, we have good possibility's, we have interesting lore made, and also other lore in the works. So that everyone knows who we are, how we work, etc. We do rp but only between us due to the fact that we are hiding. I know snelves suck but the lore doesn't. My char is Claudia Daenor, well, was (https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/114723-claudia-daenor/). She Rped with a lot of people and I was never hated, I always RPed as a snelf (following the lore). And seriously, should we make that? "Meet the snelves" so that everything is clear and no more confusion :) PD- I see snelves as a culture That was the entire point of my post, I was stating they weren't and shouldn't act like a nation, it's what's led them to being murdered constantly. I'd say an RP guide could help, I made one for the Aephes culture which I still maintain and such, it's fun to write and have new ideas for the culture. But in all honesty, we have interesting possibilities, and I want to explore those and see how great we can exploit them too. And we think we can provide the kind of rp that is the out of place elf. We are setting us up to be, lore wise, elves that dont fit in, elves that are kinda not elves. We don't very much like nature, we have industry, we are as tall as humans, we have the shortest ears! I can bet at least 60% of the people who voted for them staying in Thales did it without hate. Seriously. Stop making these feedback threads and GO BACK TO ROLE-PLAYING. So far, the only Snow Elf I've seen role-playing like no one's business and actually enjoyed interacting with has been Cupcwakez, and that's been because she's not over here doing posts nor writing comments about their culture nor implied sub-race. She's out there role-playing the culture. Want to fix things? Start RPing and stop giving a **** about the forums. If you want to have fun then go out there and have it! No one is stopping you! Making threads like this one only shows that you do care for what people think and request them to tell you! You're contradicting yourself! KarmaDelta 969 Share Posted August 12, 2014 Aiming to be a sub-race from a culture makes the people who wish for it egotistical in a way. It feels like you are trying to further prove you guys wish to be special in the first place. I was recently told, since I knew nothing about you as a culture, was that you were high elves that just seemed to have a form of vitamin deficiency and weird hair problems, and that you were high elves to begin with. Why not just stick to being a form of village under elven rule instead of wanting to go solo? Going off on your own with this thing has proven to be uneventful and caused many of you troubles. As useful feedback: -Your goals are horrible. -Blending OOC with IC with what you do, doing this shows how much some of you who are more vocal about this stuff can't handle. -Stop trying to be server special, and instead be small special -Stop talking about how you guys are a race, or whatever you like to go by that has nothing to do with a cultural sub group. Seriously. Act like a cultural group and not to be people with your own mission to be super special. I and many can repeat this. If you seriously cannot do anything about these things, just quit being a snow elf and move onto another race. The culture may die out eventually do to something more "cool" and "hip" being written and released. So make up your minds with where you want this to go. Job One for you as a player is to do stuff; you should be thinking, at all times – “What are my goals? And what can I do to achieve them?” You are the stars of a very personal universe, and you are not going to get anywhere by sitting on your arse and waiting for adventure to come and knock on your door. Investigate stuff. Ask questions. Follow leads. No-one needs you to point out that this is an obvious plot thread while you do it. Mix up scenes, talk to people, get up in their grill. If you’re not playing the sort of character that would do such a thing, find something you can affect, and affect it. If you keep finding yourself pushed to the back of scenes and twiddling your thumbs – why is such a boring character hanging around with the sort of people that Get S**t Done? Be active, not passive. If you learn nothing else from this article, bloody learn this. TWO. Realize that your character does not exist outside of the things you have said. You can write as many pages of backstory as you like, mate, but they don’t factor in one bit to the game unless you show them happening. Are you a shrewd businessman? Cool. Do some business, shrewdly, in front of everyone else. Are you a hot jazz saxophonist? Play the saxophone. Are you a wild elf struggling through social interactions with civilized people? Struggle through those interactions! Don’t go off and sit under a tree, you prick! This ties back into the first point, really; you only exist through your actions. It is not the responsibility of other players to read your backstory, and their characters cannot read minds. Well. Some of them can, but you know what I mean. They shouldn’t have to. So display your talents, your traits, your weaknesses, your connections. Take every opportunity to show, and not tell, the other people in the server what your character is about.
