I've been away for a bit, so please disregard this if it's been answered.

 

I'd like to know what the plan for distributing skills for magic will be. Speaking to Tythus awhile back, it seemed that mages with well known magical abilites would be given their experience to spend on their magical subtype. I'd just like to know if this is to be set into affect at any time in the near future.

     I'm predicting locked magics and their users will get their magic (i.e Shamanism, Druidism.)

I suspect the system will be exceptionally elite and highly limited. I have a feeling if your character isn't a widely known magic user (even if you have been using it for a while, and are decent at it) you won't get anything in regards to physical usage.

I can't stress enough that this is a absolutely horrible way to go about it. Coming from someone who's used magic for a year on two characters, please start everyone over from square 1. Bias is only going to get people complaining that they didn't get their pew pews and somebody else did.
